    Thank you for sharing this. I am going throught the same experience, but my head looked much scarier than the photos despite taking prescriped antihistanimes.
    I had to pick something from downstairs. People would freeze looking at me not giving the hello back. That's when I realized how terrifying and not-me I looked and ran to ER and had some kinda direct shot in my blood.
    Also to mention, I didn't have trouble breathing but all my lymph nodes around my ears were as big as my neck overnight!
    Now, I am going through the phase that it slightly is moving around my eye (but not as aweful as before the shot). And good to know it would go on its own a week later maybe.
    I am sharing this video to people who were concerned about me and didn't get how this could happen.
    I also advise not only testing products (because I did and it only hit 2 days after the whole hair toning) but also see a doctor as soon as there is swelling reaction specially around the ears and forehead.

      This happens to too many people for their not to be more education about this. I am sorry that this happened to you and it is indeed a very scary situation. I agree, that whenever a reaction happens, the first thing that should happen is that we head to a doctor to ensure that it does not get out of hand and that we can be treated with the strongest drugs immediately. You just never know what could happen.

      a bit of a late response but patch test your dye!! put some of the dye behind your ear, leave it for 48 hours, and if there are no reactions, it will be okay to dye your hair!

    Hey Sherice... you're beautiful and bold. Thank you for sharing your story. I can relate to this. It was draining! I am happy to see your full recovery. From hence forth please note that this may affect your skin sensitivity to certain products that contain PPD, not limited to henna for body art, items that have black rubber such as head sets and sunscreens. Thanks again and may you be blessed

    As soon as you showed your pictures, I knew what you had because the same thing happened to me, except it wasn't from hair dye. While on the job, I got severe contact dermatitis from touching a dirty military record, & then absentmindedly touching my face. Girl, when I tell you that my face began to itch, burn & shapeshift in front of my eyes...I got that same huge lump that you had on your forehead, my eye began to swell, & my lips tripled in size! I also developed large bumps all over my skin. My coworkers were shocked at my appearance. I ended up going to an urgent care center, & they put me on steroids (prednisone) for two weeks. Just like you said, during the treatment, the lump went down almost instantly, but different parts of my face would randomly swell. I had to take a week off of work, because my appearance was honestly alarming. I felt like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, just like you said (really, that's the first character that I thought of...the accuracy!). I legit looked like a battered woman. I was ashamed to go out in public because people would just gawk at me. Even after the large bumps disappeared, they left behind dark spots that took months, along with diligent skin care, to fade away. Now, I religiously use an anti-bacterial face wash by Clean & Clear, & whenever I have an itch on my face, I break out the rubbing alcohol. I had contracted another form of dermatitis before this unfortunate incident when I was in college, only it was on another part of my body. The doctor said that I was prone to skin allergies. Luckily, I haven't had another outbreak since (God willing!).

    This happened to me too and i was so scared. The scary thing was that i already felt sick like i got a cold or chill when the dye was on my head. That was the first sign something was wrong. 3 days later i woke up with swollen eyes and red patches of itchy skin all over my face. Just horrible. After that months later i tried to dye my hair with indigo and henna wich was 100 pure plant powders said the package. I didn´t think i was gonna react to this because i used it 3 times before. Unfortunely i started itching 3 days later and also had swollen eyes and was super scared. So for me no hairdyes at all ever again!! I am now even afraid of certain plants or colorants in foods like blue cause it is sometimes made from indigo plant and some AZO dyes that have overlapping chemical structures like PPD.

    PPD in semi-permanent color? That's strange. Semi-permanent hair dyes usually don't have PPD in them. You're probably just allergic to the actual dye/ink itself like I am. I have issues with hair color whether it's permanent, demi-permanent, semi-permanent, etc.

    • @SHESOMAJOR

    This is happening to me right now. I just dyed my hair black like 3 days ago and have been taking Benadryl and using a cold compress on it all day but my face and forehead were so swollen, they are slightly less swollen now but every time I take the cold compress away it swells like crazy again. I’m not sure if I should go to the ER or just keep on with the benadryl and compresses. I’m getting hives all over my face, neck, and ears too. I’ve never had an allergic reaction to this hair dye before and my hairdresser has used the same brand on me for years. I heard that PPD can be more concentrated in black and darker hair dyes so since this is my first time going this dark I am wondering if that was the cause. This video is definitely helping me keep calm. Especially seeing how chill you are being about it all. Hopefully it just calms down and I won’t have to go to the ER, it hasn’t gotten significantly worse or gone to my eyes like it did to you so I’m gonna wait and see what happens. Thanks for posting this though! Definitely not using that black hair dye anymore. I am glad you have fully recovered though!🤗 #thequasimodolook
    Edit: I should clarify the swelling just started today. It was just really itchy and red before and now it’s gone full Quasimodo on me 😂

    • @SHESOMAJOR
      @SHESOMAJOR  3 роки тому +2

      Wow! Yes, I think it definitely is the black dye. The PPD is concentrated in that for some reason. Trust me, I am ONLY this calm because I am removed from the situation at the time of filming, I was a complete and total WRECK while it was happening. I would advise if you feel unsafe to go to the doctor just to ensure that everything is fine. As much as a love super black hair, I can't take the risk again! I hope that you get better soon!
