you say it's not all that slippy..that's just one of the dangers..beause if it was slightly wetter (which you wouldn't be able to tell until you stood on it) you wouldn't be here now if you fell in

I was talking about it being winter, so I thought it would have been a lot more slippery down there because of the cold.

@@iamchongy fair enough, Just for your safety though bud don't stand on that green moss it can be incredibly slippy, not just the moss but some of the rocks can be slightly slimy too

How do they know that the Strid is undercut on either side? Has anyone stuck a pole from one side underneath the other side to verify? It could just be the actual width of what is seen. I don't see how the caves underneath the rocks on each side could be too large without them collapsing from the weight above. Also, at 8:14, a lot of people seem to claim that the water coming over is 30-90 feet deep on average. I have questioned the rock on top of the waterfall and some claim it extends down similarly to the depth of the Strid and is a tower of limestone holding the rock up. That would be way too much force for a small tower of rock given the floods and such. Has anyone poked a long branch in it?

There is Definitely a hidden cave holes in the strids , off Camera I stuck a big stick at the sides and i couldn’t feel a wall just a dip and a drop like I’m standing on the Edge wall

@@iamchongy Interesting. I wonder why no one has commented on that in the videos. It's like nobody ever sticks anything under the opposite side. With a long pole, branch, straight piece of wood, etc...one could stay well back from the edge and still have enough angle to put it down. The main thing for me is...maybe the caves just go back for feet up at the surface and it is undercut say 6-8 feet or maybe they extend down under the surface. A lot of the rocks there look like separate rocks stacked on top of each other, so it isn't even as solid as one big giant overhang rock. That makes me think it couldn't go back too far without the overhang collapsing.
Even places like BBC News...they employed a team to go to Loch Ness and survey the entire lake with boats, sonar, etc., looking for the Loch Ness Monster. Yet nobody will bring corded sonar and throw it in to try to map it. One would think that some kind of nature show like National Geographic, BBC, etc., would pay a private company to find the answers to this once and for all.
I suspect that the people that have drowned by falling into the waterfall portion and xx feet down from it probably could not even stay afloat due to the massive amount of foamy water that no one can float in and they just sank or got pushed off to the side by the current. That same foamy water is observed under lowhead dams in the US and elsewhere (called weirs in Europe and UK). I would think that they could also lower something solid and heavy down to the bottom to measure both the current flow rate/tug in pounds or force (or however strong current flow is measured) and also see once and for all how deep it is to the bottom every 10 feet or so.
