It’s a survivor, Mike is spot on about not doing the bumpers, it’s never going to original again, and it’s value is in its originality but what a beautiful car
Go on Mike, Cossie Magic Mate. I'm in Florida but originally from Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire and doing a Merkur Xr4ti 1989 conversion to a Cossie Texaco tribute car had her ten years and it's time.
Classic!! Wicked definitely takes me back to the 90s. The amount of kids that had standard cars fitting the whale tale was mental lol. That car is mint
Great video Gary and seeing that ford radio cassette took me back to my 1988 Fiesta XR2 and various other Fords I drove between 1985 to 1990 👍 I have just ordered a new (mid life update) Fiesta ST last week and will be reliving my youth when it is delivered in May or June 😀
Just caught up with the RS Cosworth video Gary, great watch with a great car which brought back many memories of all the classic fast Fords from my youth and my own injection special 👍
Chances are I made part of that tractor as I used to work at the Tractor plant in Basildon. When this video started I thought wow an old cosworth I saw many of them in the car park at the tractor plant then bang a ford tractor. Double bonus video for me :)
Stunning car and Mike is right in not wanting to touch it up and keep it original, I bet its worth a mint. Great review and would love to see you cover its future path 👍
@@CarFocused Really love this sort of thing. I'm 41 now, and the Sierra and Escort Cosworths were the cars everyone wanted when I was in my early teens. Proper classics.
Thank you @car focused great video I love the old school fast Ford what a great car love to maybe see another video up date after he's had some one look at it 👍
This car was well before my time so I probably won't appreciate it as much as others. The looks aren't to my personal taste but it sounds the absolute business! It's in fantastic condition too really.
I had a cosworth (d444jua) moonstone blue back in 91 I had it for 8 years I would love to see it again do miss it I know all there was know as it was my job
Still never driven one but have sat it some special cossies , the first one i ever sat in was the 3 door Boreham development Sierra , the first EsCos I sat in was the 001 numbered monte and the first sapp i sat in was the last one off the production line , now to just actually drive one of them lol
My favourite cosworth this Gary the sapph is nice but this is my favourite 😁 you will love driving it , it may feel old but they are lively once that turbo kicks in looks like its running stage 3 set up with dark green injectors 👍🏼👍🏼
I was rooting for cylinder number 4 😁 Wow that took me back. Tried to persuade my Dad to get one of these but couldn't prise him away from his 2.8l and 2.9l Granadas he had 😊
Nice, always wanted a white 3 door.. Had a white S2 Escort Turbo in the early 90s, insurance on a Cossie then was a joke! Prices have certainly shot up..
Had a few of these and the sapphires when old man had car pitches but never floated my boat I preferred the 2.9 twin turbos we had for the sound and drive, I had a tickford Capri and sold it for 12k in 92 bloody makes me sick now looking back at the money, over a million quid gone including the e-types and old RS escorts that fetched nothing really back in the day 😢
Great work Gary! My old man had a moonstone blue back when I was a nipper! Nobody used to believe me about that digital dash for the doors 😂 Brings back some awesome memories. His accent sounds like he should be my neighbor though, not yours 😆 Hope he gets it sorted and to the shows for next year, be amazing to see another one up close and personal after all these years
Yeah, the great little electro fluorescent display, doors & tailgate went red when open, brake lights check & yellow or red snowflake on the roof for ice warning. If only modern cars had these..... the amount of Muppets driving around with brake light bulbs out. My old XR4i also had the matching fuel computer instead of the standard clock, although it was a mixed blessing to have 25mpg brightly lit in front of you, most of the time! .
I had a D reg 7.5 t Ford cargo 6.2 ltre engine....4 speed box 130 bhp..Top speed 60mph ....With 4 ton of sand ....Gave any Cossie a run for its money ....
Hence why I’m going to get it back on the road and use it. Time and other commitments prior have prevented this. It’s only worth what someone is happy to pay. I ain’t selling it and not interested in what it’s worth. I love them and it’s my forever car to enjoy and let others enjoy.
Cheers for today Gary. I’m still buzzing from getting the beast started. More to come soon 👍
It's about time 😉
Looking forward to it thank u Michael for letting on this journey
Blast from the past! .. still looks a nice thing, how you doing Micheal?
Karl Wills I’m good. Do you know me and if so from where. 🤷♂️🤷♂️

Looks so good in white. The perfect colour for that car.
Takes me back to my teenage years seeing this car again - great video mate 👌

Two top blokes keep up the good work
I have never heard of or seen such a car. From 1987? Shes beautiful.
My favorite fast ford greeting’s from the states
Thumbnail definitely caught my eye. What a car!!!
What a beautiful machine . I was 10 years old when these were on the road . Wow .
Car Focused definitely. Would love to own one of these but funds just won’t let me . But what a car .

i love that open timing belt design, i would replace it every year :D

Such a clean car, was beginning to think it didn't exist Mike! 😀
@@CarFocused 😂 we've clearly both been having the same conversation!
When it’s on the road again you can both have a drive in it. That’s a promise 👍

I got brought up around my dad having a 5 door ghia with the xr4i spoiler in light blue so these cossys are an absolute gorgeous piece of kit
Very nice always nice to see them still alive, most were stolen or stuffed through country lanes you got a beauty
Yea it’s a tidy one 👌🏻👌🏻
Alot also rusted mate 👍🏻
Amazing! If I had so much land as this guy I would rally it around all day and night long!
What a lovely car...and thanks to all they guys that make the vids and own the cars and let us see them 😎
looking forward to the next video. thanks for posting.
Such a beautiful machine.
These cars did very well in the touring car championships in Australia........ 👍
What an icon that car is.
Gorgeous car one of my all time favourite cars, Mike showed me some photos of this a few years ago, absolutely stunning mate.
Yep I work with him
Cracking video mate , and a tyne and wear car ! Awesome
Brings back memories had one of these many moons ago.

Looks clean as f**K! Absolutely stunning machine - just needs a little TLC and it will be sweet!
Plenty of childhood memories there 😍 my dad had a Sapphire Cosworth and Janspeed's prototype Xr4x4 Turbo until it burnt to the ground
Beautiful car
What an icon, thanks for sharing - hopefully the car will get a decent bit of use in years to come.

Beautiful car. A dream car for me too and probably my favourite car ever. I still own a Sierra but sadly not a cosworth.
Car Focused yes it’s a 1.8 LX so it’s more rare than a cosworth now! Sadly not worth as much lol. But I still love it.
Here in USA we have XR4Ti. I have boost controller, exhaust and fmic. Wish it had full cosworth bodywork and YB!
Really enjoyed the video will make for amazing content going forward.
King cossie, love it.

Those extra injectors they used to put on them to get them up to 500hp they were the original beasts back in the day, great vid!
Only on the RS 500 version.

Awesome video man 👍🏻
I've got a 400 bhp sierra cosworth estate. Nothing pulls like a cossie 👍
Beautiful motor
Maaan a tractor review would have been definitely unexpected ahahahha

Awesome video, you gained another sub
Is there going to be a new video on this car pal?
Wondering how it's going on and if he been using it since getting it out.. 😉👍

I remember them. White with some coloured graphics near the door. They were the fastest puddle jumpers on the motorway.
Fuckinel it has been looked after!!! 1st time Ive ever heard of a car being de-tuned.
This beauty is beast check out the headers and the retainers
I brought one new in 87. Cost me £15,450. Was great fun then. But not now, a lot better out there for the money these demand!
