Nice demonstration! I am having trouble bringing my head up to breathe in each breast stroke. I see that you are moving your forearms only as I was moving the complete arm widely. Tonight I will copy as yours and let you know my progress. 🤗
1. timing on when to lift the head on outsweep of the arms 2. try to use the whole body in the stroke in a wave motion 3. pull and kick timing 4. keeping hips up high
In breaststroke only my head and neck is coming out of water during arm pull, where I'M going wrong? Would you please tell me, suggest exercise to correct it! 🤔🤔🤔😊😊😊
Wow. So I've been doing it wrong all along. I keep my head high and face up front, instead of keeping my head low and facing just above water surface. Will try it out. Thanks, Coach!
@@SWIMVICE Hello again, Coach Mandy. Just an update: Just came from the pool. For today i set aside freestyle drills and practiced breathing for breast stroke as on this video. I tried this low-head thing, but not on a shallow pool as you advised. Gulped a mouthful on the first try as expected 😁 . Still kept practicing to keep my head low and consciously kept myself from looking straight up front. I also took breaths every two strokes, just to consciously prepare myself for the "head-low breath". I noticed I swam faster breast stroke (probably less drag from keeping my head low?). Although I'm still not facing straight down on the water surface on each breath (still scared to gulp water), keeping my face at an angle instead of straight up is a start. Thanks, Coach!
Leah Plucena yes! Thank you for the update Leah. Drinking water is never fun but it is a part of the process to help you find your space to breath. If you let it go and know you’ll get it overtime is what is important and looks like you already are starting to! As a bonus you dropped time that is due to decreasing drag. 👍🏼 Keep it up! 🙌🏽🏊🏼♀️
Swear to god, I just know correct breaststroke is to keep head low. Since the past, I take my head high over water to take a breath. That why I am very tire when breaststroke. Will practice. Thank coach.
Beautiful information as usual, I am struggling little regarding speed in breaststroke but I think I got my mistake and I will definitely improve. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
week 1: i can do the breastroke whilst breathing underwater I've yet to master bringing my head out and inhaling. also deathly fear of doing It in open water
Do you do private coaching and stroke analysis? Your breaststroke is absolutely beautiful! I am working on mine... I dive down deeper than I should so I have been working on recovering my arms more forward using the water surface as a guide since I angle down slightly. Also I have not been able to diagnose why but my legs sink instead of being extended at the surface of the water before I start to recover them back for the kick. I know I pull slightly past my shoulder line and that could be it but not sure 😬
I get tired really quick whenever I'm swimming in general I mean I have above average stamina but swimming just kills me you know I'm breathless after 25 meters Imma try all of what I'll remember from this video next time I go swimming
Hi William, I have a recent video on breaststroke that you may find helpful here: ua-cam.com/video/CiNxiWY6g1o/v-deo.html Enjoy your practice! Best, Coach Mandy
practice this part of the stroke by rehearsing in a shallow pool consistently. You will start to become more comfortable with breathing low and throwing your body forward. 🏊🙌
It is due to body position and relaxation. Kick harder does not make you float higher. I have a recent youtube short explaining this point here: ua-cam.com/video/SidML29whJk/v-deo.html Hope this helps clarify! -Coach Mandy

Haha, talk about jumping from something very basic to a pro level performed breastroke. Lots of stuff in the middle that need to be learned to be able to swim like that.
I am not a rebellion but why would people tolerate this misconception about breathing technique so far ❓❔ ? I mean, I want to keep my head up when I'm swimming with friends, which is almost always the case. We talk, want to see each other and just breathe more naturally instead of making bubbles with our noses

What priority of breaststroke technique do you plan on practicing? Drop a comment below! -Coach Mandy
1. the hand pull
2. the pull and kick timing
1. timing on when to lift the head on outsweep of the arms
2. try to use the whole body in the stroke in a wave motion
3. pull and kick timing
4. keeping hips up high
Darren great points!
henrik those are important points as well 👍🏼🏊🏼♂️

You’re welcome Leah! Enjoy your practice 🙌🏽🏊🏼♀️👏🏼 -Coach M
Just thinking about it though, won't I risk breathing in water through my mouth if I don't get my head high enough above the surface?
Leah Plucena practice the rehearsal in a shallow pool. You will find you really don’t need that much space to breath. 👍🏼

Lovely video! Should one exhale through the nose when the head is in the water and only inhale when the head is up or do both when the head is up?
Hi, so there's no need to tilt the head when inhale?
Love these. Very helpful. I hadn’t known I needed this help!
Hi Barry I’m glad you found these helpful. Let me know how your practice goes when you try some of these points at the pool! 🙌🏽🏊🏼♂️👍🏼 -CM
Should we exhale all or do short exhale underwater?
Hi, great video instruction. I have a problem getting my head and shoulders out of the water to breathe, do you have instruction to achieve this?
Just continue to practice in shallow water and you will overcome this.

Literally tried this two days in a row and I still can’t do it. Much harder than I anticipated
Coach Mandy,
Do you start pulling your ankles up when you begin your inhale? I’m having trouble with the timing.
Hi coach Mandy, should I exhale fully before breathing in or just partially?
Always leave 50% of air in your lungs
how deep you go, when launching the arms?

Thank you for your support and glad you liked it! Stay tuned for more. Enjoy your practice Natasha! 😄🙌🏊♂️💪 -Coach Mandy
From past two months I'm practicing it but still I didn't learn breastroke..breathing is a big issue for me
That was exceptional thank you
You’re welcome Ihsan! 🏊🏼♂️🙏🏽

Breaststroke kick is my achillis heel
Is it in regards to the feet turn out motion or your knees? - Coach Mandy
Nice, breathing of bresstrock is very easy for beginners, but your technique for high levels bresstrock
practice this part of the stroke by rehearsing in a shallow pool consistently. You will start to become more comfortable with breathing low and throwing your body forward. 🏊🙌
how come ur legs don't sink if ur not kickin?

not enough on the breathing
