Lord so much hard work, but in the end it seems like its becoming so rewarding, those orange trees are bearing fruit, may you bear fruit in this labor indeed. Blessings!
I am telling you Victoria there are females watching these videos and thinking to themselves "Why do we need to hand over our hard earned cash to gymnasiums when all we need is to tackle a project that is hard work?" as you have shown in this video. Jackhammers are not always for the boys. Good on you.
FYI: There are trays that go under your store bought seed pots. When you water the run off will collect in the tray and the pot will wick that extra water back up when the pot becomes dry. Things are moving along. 👍🏻 Like that jack-hammer! Hugs to Poppy & Teddy 🤗🐾🐾🇺🇸
it would be good to have a sprinkler on the spout of your water container. it takes doing to realize what works and what dont for best results. I would suggest having a table for working outside the green house also, for handling the compost and dirt while planting to avoid the mess or some of it at least.
My unsolicited gardening tips: Direct seed your beets & radishes! They don't like the be transplanted, radishes especially. :) I would fill my seed trays with soil outside of the greenhouse and then just carry the trays inside when you have them full & tidy. Good luck with this growing season!
The two of you have become my favorite couple to watch. My husband and I spent many years working together on our property. The two of you are show reality. Love the green house !!!
Small tip, Vic...beetroot seed looks like it does because it's what is known as 'multigerm'. This means that there is more than one seed in each 'knobbly thing'! Two, three or even four... Another small tip - lettuce seed likes cool conditions for germination. It won't like 33C! Suggest putting pot outside if sunny... take it inside overnight. Also light! If you bury the seed too deep it will germinate very poorly....
So happy you got your first sponsor from Vevor. That tool set is going to come in handy for so many jobs! It’s great to see how much easier it made digging those post holes. Keep up the good work. You’re making a wonderful home.
Root crops, like beet, carrots etc do not like to be transplanted - they should be planted directly into the soil. Each beet seed has 5-6 seeds within it, so sow sparingly. Lettuce can be planted ahead of time and transplanted, but it also does well if you plant it early in the Spring because it is a cool weather crop. I generally plant summer crops, like tomato, eggplant and peppers early indoors (they like heat so a heating pad works well). Also with lettuce, collect the seed heads after they develop and separate them from the husk by gently rolling them in your hands . .. you will never have to buy seeds again since they produce so many seeds.
Love your videos! My useful "expert" hint: always twist your foam earplugs (with clean hands) before inserting them (not too deep) in the ear. They will go in easily and then naturally unfurl and expand to block the sound.
Hey guys, may I suggest not pointing your pine poles unless you are ramming them in as that’s the reason you point them. Also when mixing concrete I would also suggest wearing a mask when handling the cement as it is not great for your lungs. Keep going with your projects as many, including myself are enjoying watching you guys. From Australia 🇦🇺 all the best.
You can get a spade bit for that jack hammer which will be brilliant for any digging. We use it to break up the clay on our property and its a life saver!
That was hilarious you and Ricky play acting in the greenhouse. Glad you waited to do the roof and I just love your green house. Good luck with your vegetable growing this year.
When you were both wearing the sweatshirt I didn't notice the hairy arm at first, it was the odd looking shoulder that caught my attention. Great idea to delay the roof rebuild until it's dryer and the jackhammer be so useful with all the granite on the land.
Ricky, just a comment on your mixing of cement as I think from the video that you seem to be throwing the sand, gravel and cement into the mixer and then adding the water. The easiest way and the way I have done it over the years is to put the water in first, then the gravel and then the cement and sand, after the mix is removed immediately add another measure of water to keep the inside of mixer washed until you add the remainder of the mix. Doing it this way will keep your mixer looking like new for as long as you keep it. If I have somehow gotten it wrong on the way you are currently doing it, my apologies but I felt I just had to pass this on as I see folks doing it wrong all the time and people with relatively new cement mixers covered in concrete. Nice jackhammer, very nice of Vevor to help you out. Be well.../B
Definitely need bottom trays to hold water. Have none? Cookie sheets? Bins? Also, they can’t be planted out until second set of true leaves or later, after hardening off, so about 3-4 weeks. Best of luck.
I love ❤️ watching your fur babies romp and play! They are sooooo happy! 💗🐾 I kept looking at your hands Victoria thinking something not right...your hands are so lovely & manicured! What happened!!!! Had me going there for a minute! 😄
Thinking about the roof, since the house appears to have windows only on the front and one end, you might want to consider one or two Velux windows for light and ventilation, especially if that is the north face and won't get direct sun in the summer.
Well, here I go again, the second Vlog of yours that I watched was the removal of the roof on the little house and now I am watching this one!! I keep forgetting to tell you how I absolutely love the stone walls you have on your property. I have yet to see the BIG house, inside or out, looking forward to seeing that!! 06/28/23
Check out Garden Answer for a cute seeding tray you can make. I think the video was called; DIY pretty seeding tray. Would help keep that soil contained! Surprised at how well the jackhammer went thru granite!
In the USA I can buy large rubber tray like things that are called boot trays. They are meant to sit next to a doorway to put your muddy boots so they collect the dirt and water. I use them under my potting containers they do a great job to collect the dirt. You can order them on Amazon too!
Love your videos. They are great. You both work well together and have fun at the same time. So it should be. You are such a fun couple. I really enjoy watching your videos. Love and Blessings to you both, Poppy and Teddy. Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘 ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
A large tray under the planting packs will make filling the packs so easy. Victoria the cardboard boxes are actually a very good choice you will be able to either plant them directly into the garden are just peel them away. I had a good laugh with the extra arm.
Hi Victoria, you need a potting tray for all your potting, so the soil remains in the tray and no on the ground, I am sure Ricky could whip you one up.. ;)
The gloves are to protect your body from VIBRATION which can be very hard on your wrists, arms and bone STRUCTURE. Also, when you fill post holes with concrete, you must remove any air pockets by using a 1" stick, piece of rebar etc and plunging it into the concrete in 3 or 4 places.
Oh my goodness that was so funny. At first I wondered how your arm had suddenly got more hairy 😂😂😂. Victoria you going to win the bet.😉 It's great the Reno is still on the cards! Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Victoria what I did was buy a couple of trays that are used for tomato grow bags.. I can mess and spillas much as I need to after which I transfer the seeded pots over to the second one and water them there until they are ready to plant out
The Jackhammer is godsend, thankful y'all were gifted the amazing piece of equipment..For ear protection, ( this me) I'd look into purchasing Proctive Earmuffs....Job much easier done and time saved...😁♥️🌹
You guys got it so together. Very thoughtful in how you approach your work and life's challenges. Loving the greenhouse and what you're planting. We too have a laundry list of things to do outside our house. Lots of landscaping and redoing our patio deck. It will all come together. Keep at it. Patience and Prudence! Sending you much love and affection🥰🥰 from Jim, Harriet and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
For shoveling materials and saving your back I suggest a typical curved North American long handled shovel. my original country (England) seems impervious to this knowledge. The flat spade is only good for trimming lawn edges or digging square holes.
Maybe raised beds is something for you to it's much easier to grow your vegetables and you don't have to bend down to work on them and looks beautiful.
😂LOL, you two are so funny! For a moment I’m thinking, oh my, Victoria’s arms have really developed from all of the farm work, digging, rock clearing, Jack hammer etc. 😂 ⚒🔧🪚🪜Then I noticed the hairy arms….. OMG…. Good one! You had me for a minute. 😆 Thanks for the good laugh, I needed that! But seriously, you are both doing such amazing job and I am so impressed at how well you are progressing with the work on the farm. As for the roof on the little cottage, I think you are correct to wait until spring. Everything happens for a reason, and every cloud has a silver lining. 🌨🌦🌤☀️ And as you said, you have so many other jobs to do on the farm. Looking forward to seeing your seedlings sprout too! 🥒🥬🥗Can’t wait to see what you get up to in your next video. Take care & have a great week! 💕🇨🇦
You two are gorgeous! Love the greenhouse footage, and the clever time-lapse of Ricky carrying the poles as well. Such an enjoyable video to watch. Thanks Victoria. 👌 💞
great to see your progress! You should really get a shovel, a spade isn't very good for your back long term for shoveling material. Very nice to follow along - keep up the inspiration!
You two work well together and I enjoyed the video. LOts of projects, but you seem to observe and wait, example waiting on the roof project til Spring---much better! Good luck with your seedlings! A garden is fun and full of surprises!
What a beautiful couple. I love your channel. You two seem to work well together. I can't believe how many projects you've accomplished in such a short period of time. Your big, hairy arms must be from that jackhammer work. 😂
Your greenhouse is so professional. Well thought out as are all the things you do. The concrete base is so good. Wish the people who built the shed in our place had had such attention to detail😅
Wow, so wonderful that Vevor sent you the jackhammer. It is so needed in many parts of Portugal with the granite landscape. I use Vevor products in my landscaping and they are very durable. Great job you two.
The "arms through" thing was perfect. I really enjoy you guys and I'm really glad that it's both of you now - great call on that. Thanks also for not doing all the sensational headlines on the videos - I love coming here and watching and learning - the sensationalism isn't needed. Keep it up.
Hi Victoria and Ricky, I am fairly new to your channel and am loving what you are doing. I have some tips for planting your seeds etc. in New Zealand all our potting mixes, bags of soil etc have warnings on them regarding microbes etc, it is recommended you wear a mask when working with these soils as some of the airborne stuff (sorry not sure of real name) can cause lung issues etc, also legionnaires disease, which is serious. Also it is best to use seed raising mix for the seeds. If you use cardboard later for your bigger seedlings, one plant per unit you can plant these directly in the soil and they biodegrade (toilet rolls are good for this too, just cut some slots on the bottom and fold them over then fill with soil.
What a great gift the breaker is. I'm sure you'll make very good use of it going forward. Looking forward to seeing the fruits of Victoria's green fingers...🍅🥒🌶🥦🥕🥬🍆
Hello just so your aware root vegetables like beets, radishes, carrots do best if direct sown into the ground or deep pots that they will be grown to full term in they all have a long thin root that swells at the top giving us the product and if this root is broken while been transplanted they generally don’t grow. I don’t know if you know this but in a lot of countries they eat the leaves of the beetroot plant as well as the actual beetroot itself. They remove odd leaves from each plant as it’s growing and either eat them as part of a salad by just washing the leaves and cutting away the thicker stems or taking the leaves and boiling them like cabbage they are full of good vitamins either way but raw leaves are best. Try getting a picnic table and fill your pots outside the greenhouse and then place in the ground then give them a good soak. You can then take the filled pots back into the greenhouse to plant your seeds and cover with dry compost then lightly water them. Some seeds will benefit from placing a plastic bag over the pot and putting an elastic band around the pot and plastic bag. If the bag looks like it will collapse then put 2plant sticks into the pot so it will hold the plastic bag up. This creates a mini greenhouse over that one pot and also hold the water within meaning the pot requires less watering but it has a humid climate so it helps some seeds to germinate. I’m not sure which seeds will require this as I’ve never grown seeds in Portugal which is totally different
Using cardboard containers for your seeds is good. I don't know if Portugal has the card egg boxes? But if it does usesl those but only one seed per egg space, no need to transplant. Just plant the egg box section plus seedling into the ground or container. Cardboard/papers provide much needed carbon. Used tea leaves, including the teabag type of tea (bag too) and coffee is massively effective when making your compost. So is crushed egg shell. Also the dung from whatever animals (farm animals not the dogs) that you end up with should be mixed in to make your compost. Don't put fresh dung on plants or veg as it will burn the produce.
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, you know they also have metal roof sheathing that looks like roof tiles and they have isolation inside and metal sheaths on the bottom and metal beams to ley them on this works much faster and looks beautiful to for your little house, and for the green house get some closed trees that can hold the water and put your little pots in there then they can still suck up the water. Just a idea 💡.
You have done so much 👍 great work. I planted some seeds the other day, Yay! My favourite time of the year. Just separate the seedlings on into a pot of there own to get stronger before you put them out 😁 the best thing ever to watch something grow and to eat it 😁 have a great week 🙌
It’s all looking great guys and like you say, this is a marathon not a sprint, a lifetime project. I have taken one on too but sadly mine had no roof and has been rained on for 12years….gulp…the walls though are in amazing nick and so solid still so we have finally got a roof on and hoping they can dry out slowly. You are filling those trays like a Pro Victoria, all that’s missing is a tray to put your seed tray in and that way all spills get collected nicely. And also, beetroots actually love being seeded 3seeds per seeing so they grow together so these won’t need separating once they grow. Exciting. I have some seeds coming soon too and can’t wait to get sowing. Keep up the great work and enjoy this most magnificent weather we are having.. if only it could be like this all year! Already trying to mentally prepare for the summer! Xx
Another fabulous video from you two. I'm really enjoying your channel and applaud all your hard work. If I could make a suggestion Victoria, you may find it easier to water your seedlings and keep your greenhouse cleaner if you can find a rose for the end if your watering can. Good luck with your planting x
Really enjoy watching you both interact and get along with things... and absolutely love that Victoria gets in and has a go... It took a wee while for my eyes to adjust to watch they were seeing, loved the hairy arms.... 🤣 Great video guys... see you next time... 💜
Love it great work all round ! little by little ! The gloves are also compression gloves to protect against Vibration White Finger its a condition where from prolonged heavy power tool use the nerves and blood vessels in the hands and fingers get severely damaged ! I was doing my own bit of concreting at the weekend ! happy enough but cant compare to the finish the professionals did ! take care folks !!
I just found your channel this weekend and honestly I am blowing through your videos! Love this content. Love your video style and music. And after only a couple of days I love you guys! So excited to follow this journey ❤ 14:35

So true! Yes, Victoria using a jackhammer was very impressive indeed!
That hairy arm….cracked me up! Good luck with your seedlings !
You are the cutest, most entertaining couple. I’m so pleased that you have been able to accomplish so many projects lately.
Each Project that you finish...brings you one step closer to your Dreams!!!! It feels so satisfying ....even for me!!! Great job!!!!
FYI: There are trays that go under your store bought seed pots. When you water the run off will collect in the tray and the pot will wick that extra water back up when the pot becomes dry.

Thanks for the tip Lacy. Will be looking for some next time we're in the city 😊
There is such a sweet spirit about you two. Love each and every video and having you both involved is twice the fun! Thanks for taking us along 😊

I’m so happy you have waited - I have loved watching your Greenhouse. You both are adorable, ❤️
Yes folks, this is what love looks like. I hope that Vevor sends you more tools to play with.
So happy you got your first sponsor from Vevor. That tool set is going to come in handy for so many jobs! It’s great to see how much easier it made digging those post holes. Keep up the good work. You’re making a wonderful home.
It's so nice seeing your plans coming together. I always look forward to your videos. Loving the greenhouse work. Xxx

Love the hairy arms😂🤣. You two are the best. Have a great week❤️☮️
Thanks Esme! Hope you have a fantastic week too! ❤️
Ricky and Victoria you are the most hardworking, lovely and funny couple from all the vlogs I've being seeing. ❤️👍
Awww thanks Grace! 🥰
You two cover it all! From Jackhammers to puppetry. What a channel!!😅😂🤣
Is that the bit that looks like a little shovel? I always wondered what that was for! 😁
Those wooden posts are going to rot eventually, should have used galvanized metal posts. You two are a great working pair.
Victoria, I love your laugh. It makes me smile 😃 😊. Good for you trying all the big toys!
You guys are making me undepressed, so thank you for your hard work in creating these videos and sharing them.
Put the carboard under your trays while you put the compost in your trays that will catch your compost

You did really well with your "massive cake mixer" ! 😂 Your videos are so enjoyable. Have a good week!
Definitely need bottom trays to hold water. Have none? Cookie sheets? Bins? Also, they can’t be planted out until second set of true leaves or later, after hardening off, so about 3-4 weeks. Best of luck.
Hey Ricky, you have ‘glare sneeze’. Sneeze reflex triggered by light. Me too!
Love your work 👍
Victoria, use a boot tray for filling your pots
Great update by my favourite couple, Victoria, carpenter, now Jack hammer specialist and Percy Thrower oh and Ricky 😂👍🇬🇧 ❤
The radish will be the first to germinate, they are super quick 😊
I love ❤️ watching your fur babies romp and play! They are sooooo happy! 💗🐾

On top of the wood post, put aluminum or tin on top of the post to keep the water from soaking in the top and rotten them out.
You can fill the little pots outside then bring them in! You're doing great Victoria!
Thanks Monika!
Milk and juice boxes work very nice for planting seeds.

Hi , just a quick tip instead of undoing all those screws to fill with oil just undo the sight glass to top it up

Beetroot you can sow directly in the bed, they are very hardy and you time picking the seedlings 😊
You guys!!! I seriously have not laughed that hard in a very long time!!! Thank you!!! ❤❤❤
Beet seeds are so big because there are multiple seeds in each cluster. And radishes are the first and fastest thing to come up and produce
Slow and steady enjoy the process.
This reminds me of early Indie Projects days, 4, 5 yrs ago.
Everything happens for a reason ✨️👍
I didn't realize that those were Ricky's arm and I thought to myself, oh didn't realize vitorria had such hairy arms, haha. That was very funny Ricky.
You two are funny and fun to watch!!! Thanks for sharing!
Check Raising Voyagers; they are cleaning their old stone walls (same cement issues as you have), it looks great!

The dogs r having lot of fun no work and all play I wish I was a bird or dog on this beautiful farm
Another great video. I just love your channel, it is so much fun to watch. I look forward to seeing what your next video will bring.
Zip ties save my day many times......good trick how you managed those posts
You two work well together and I enjoyed the video. LOts of projects, but you seem to observe and wait, example waiting on the roof project til Spring---much better! Good luck with your seedlings! A garden is fun and full of surprises!

You guys make my day 😂. Blessings.
Really enjoy watching you both interact and get along with things... and absolutely love that Victoria gets in and has a go... It took a wee while for my eyes to adjust to watch they were seeing, loved the hairy arms.... 🤣 Great video guys... see you next time... 💜
