i had a tourist visa and opened a Bangkok bank account in 1 day october 2022. 1st i went to USA embassy ( had made appointment online) got notarized/certified copy of my passport for $50. Then i went into a specific branch of bangkok bank- the tourist friendly branch at Siam mall and opened account. i returned to USA and i maintain the account by sending $20 per month to my account. i will retire next year to thailand

I used to do emissions tests during my time at Toyota. The idea of "emissions testing" in Thailand makes me laugh because of all of the straight piped diesels I saw out there rolling coal down Beach Road and Sukhumvit earlier this year. Lot of palms getting greased. It pays to know a guy🤣🤣

I just renewed my driving license in Chiang Rai, it only cost 350 baht. As for opening a bank account, my wife helps many people to do that, tourist visas included, and it takes no more than 2 hours not 21-30 days.
Your right but you must have 24 days left on your tourist visa here in Pattaya to open bank account

We did Ben. I spoke with the agent from TicTok services and she said they can do it for you. Just be aware it takes about 28 days. So. Go see them no later than the day after you arrive if your planning a 30 day trip here. 👍❤️👍

Yes brother. I did mine too.
You will need a bankers letter on headed paper with your account information and your disability provider name and address on the letter. It took about 1 month for the disability department to change my bank details in their system and make payment’s to Thailand bank.

When you deposit 800,000b in a bank account for your retirement visa does that earn interest if it remains untouched?
If so whats the interest rate?

Yes but it’s not too good my bank told me it’s about 1% however there are many saving options available if you want to leave it untouched for many years with much better interest rate Barry 👍
@@CoopersThaiAdventure My impreession Coop was that you need the 800.000b maintained in your bank account to ensure your retirement status is not disrupted or have 65,000 pm deposited into your thai bank account.

@@barrydwyer2039 there are many options Barry. You can also do half that ie 400k savings and 32.5k baht income per month.
And there are plenty of agents here that you don’t need to have any money in a Thai bank and they will deposit it for you for a fee. As there is a loophole that allows that. I’m only speaking of Pattaya area. Other areas may have stricter rules.
