They have a way of making me feel like I could live inside their melodies happily ever after.
uh?
@@digibro2107 You remember that feeling you get when you climb the rope in gym class?
Oh really?! You must be suffering from mad delusions.
I should have kept tinkering around with Dave and Josh with our obscure synths when we were doing the Automine thing. Miss those two and glad to see they turned our tinkering into some real talent and success.
Holy shit, the lost 5th anco member
Yeah this is one of the best AC songs I've ever heard. I think Panda's broken pop aesthetic shines through harder here than ever before!
This is such a good day now, such a good song.
Right? Today has been so lovely, then AnCo dropped music. Sometimes everything is alright
I was having a terrible day but at least this song made it a little brighter
I swear...
The outro makes the track for me.
it sounds just like a sung tongs interlude to me
Got a feeling this outro and the one from PJ are snippets from "strung with everything "
Love it! Animal Collective makes me feel some kind of way no other artists do.
Really loving where this album seems to be going. It’s got a late night kind of quiet jam-session vibe to it. It’s pretty straightforward compared to the rest of their stuff, but I just trust it! Haven’t been this excited for an album release since modern Vampires of the City!!!!
How did you like it?
Also Modern Vampires was a fantastic time, I wish Vampire Weekend was still making bangers.
@@chaotickreg7024 I’ve got to be honest, I’m really not into it 😭
Dude, you had to go and drop an album name of that caliber! That is a classic album but I feel that Vampire Weekend's latest album Father of The Bride is a closer comparison. Back in the early two thousands, when I was trying to come to grips with the end of good emo and indie as we all knew it, I noticed five bands/artists that I would forever lump into a kind of god tier post emo neo folk category. Although a few of these bands early records didn't sound outright like folk at all, I feel that that type of foundation still has always been there in their respective sounds. These five bands, which I associate as some of the only truly original and progressive sounds since the decline of good music are the Fleet Foxes, Joanna Newsom, Beirut, Vampire Weekend and Animal Collective. I am sure I will have more than a few suggestions to be added to this list, but I digress. It seems that these bands ended up following on their respective cult successes by evolving as the years passed and I as well as they grew older. With maturity comes changes in style, and both Vampire Weekend and now Animal Collective have embraced their neo folk roots by returning to an organic sound. The Fleet Foxes have also to an extent. As for Beirut and Joanna Newsom, it could be said that some a purity of structure has been seen more in their albums also. Those are my thoughts.
@@goofeegoober_ Would you mind elaborating on your thoughts about the album? Is it that you feel they have lost too much of their experimental edge or even dare I say it sold out a bit? Or is it just more of you not feeling this evolved sound? I particularly have always enjoyed Animal Collective's pop side and hated their experimental ramblings. I have always been like this with music too. Take for example how I will admit to skipping to the next track sometimes when listening to a classic Modest Mouse album like The Lonesome Crowded West when the best part of the song Trailer Trash has already passed and the long drawn out ending is droning on like a cowboy walking into the sunset. I realize that that is the best part of the song but I do it anyway sometimes. It has always been the part of me that is an impatient listener that did not like the more experimental albums by Animal Collective. I will admit that I am one of those people who really got into them when Merriweather Post Pavillion was released.
Fun and quirky instrumentals, Avey Tare and Panda Bear's vocals. This is like a return to form for the band.
It’s like very organic, painting with had a very cartoonish sound
i think bridge to quiet is amazing
@@bennyfairfax1 so far... and Rain in Cups is terrificly deep and beauty, for me, one of their best
I lost it at the end 🤣
I Stumbled Upon This Song. I've Never Heard Of These Artists. The Song Is So Chill. New Fan Here
i strongly recommend Animal Collective’s earlier work from 2004-2009, albums like Strawberry Jam, Sung Tongs, and especially Merriweather Post Pavilion made up their golden age
@@farter_snail I Will Check It Out!!! Thank You!! 😊
@@kewlnerd7122 Yeah but if you like this song, check out the album Feels, my personal favorite album of theirs.
@@drewhale3041 Ok, I Will!!! Thank You
I feels like this is the album I was anticipating after Fall Be Kind! 🧙♂️🦊💙
Doing the ole multiple listens. This is pure gold
It just gets better and better
First listen was a disappointment, second listen was me dancing and eating my words
Walker! My beloved!
Honestly, the last minute of this is the Animal Collective song I've been waiting a decade for, I hope there's more of that.
Have you heard Avey tare’s recent solo albums? They sound a lot like that at times IMO
@@patrickisawesomer Yeah, Avey's my fave...y.
And the prior three minutes of pure 🔥 with Geologist on that instrument did absolutely nothing for you? While you waited 10 years for a mid outro? Damn.
@@shahggy-f3h Not mid. But yeah, last two albums are lackluster. Another band could have done them, and the drums sound dry.
I mean, better than other music, but compared to AnCo... eh.
@myautobiographyafanfic1413 I don't get that. So you're indifferent to the majority of the song that follows the conventions of songwriting, but you really like the formless, unstructured soundscape at the end? It's just weird to me. It's like the part you're supposed to bob your head to does nothing for you but the brief weird part at the end captivates your attention. It's abnormal to me.
This just made my day ❤
I love how they have like no set roles
True tho Panda Bear is almost always the drummer when Jeremy’s not jammin with them
These visuals make me think of the color of pomegranates movie. Can't wait for this albuuuum
Great appreciation
I did not know that reference
Thanks!
The outro is beautiful
This construction is so fun! It's silly and silky and smooth. A real brain tickler
Time keeps on Skiffing Skiffing
Into the future
Glad these guys are still going strong!
It is kind of astounding to me that these guys can put out a song and a month later it has just a fraction of the views and general hype than the MPP days. I really like this new stuff a lot, but it is strange to see pop culture kind of just turn away from them. I for one am stoked for Time Skiffs and its probably a mixed blessing that there isn't more commercialization of this project honestly. Just interesting.
very well said, on the bright side, these guys were making music for a long while before anyone gave a fuck so hopefully they'll keep on regardless of any outside attention or lack thereof.
Yeah and considering they didn’t just start putting out albums with the same sound or style of MPP despite its success shows that they refuse to not do their own thing.
@@nicholasbeck2649 totally I def respect that about them. Wasn't a huge fan of Painting With but I am a fan of the point of that album if that makes sense haha. They make what the want and thats what makes them so genuine and compelling to me.
Amazing
Пожалуй лучшее, что я смогу послушать в 2022 году

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN (THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!)
Pleasant surprise to hear this nice sound and fresh song.
They are going in the ➡️ direction
*First 3 minutes:* Nintendo Switch game
*Last 30 seconds:* Terrifying
the boys are back
wonderfull
sights, sounds, and feels ✔✔ ✔
And this kind of reminds me of White Denim's Pretty Green music video.
Kinda liked the more sparse live version from 2019 more (when it was known as "Appreciate"). It made a nice epilog after the 2018 Music Box Village version of Defeat, at the very end of the playlist. This one is growing on me though, looking forward to hearing it in the chosen context.
Nice, this version is very lush.
These boys need to meet king gizzard and the lizard wizard
I love that they are recording straight up songs for this album. This is shaping up to be the best thing the boys have released since MPP.
Ok. I'm finally sold. Drop it early.
Just had to make bangers during quarentine huh?
Call your buds! Which ones? It's summer!
Yum
muh boys are here! everybody shut up!!!!
Providence '04 was such a sick set
wooorrd
Sounds a little like a king gizzard song. But much better.
Probably one of the most important post-wave songs released on Dec.13th, 2021.
Epic bacon
Take it back, now, yall
