Learned to type on an Apple II in Middle School, they were already 10 years old at the time but I still loved that keyboard.

Wow, excellent job you guys! Love the editing, the detail to history. Thanks.
Lots of cool editing in this video. You put some good work into this!!
Steve Jobs took all of Steve Wozniaks shine lol
One Kxng Classic Steve Jobs.
I don't have any apple products but I absolutely love your videos
This is one of the most well put together videos I have watched in a long time. Hats off to you, Jonathan.
I remember in 1st grade we got ONE Apple 2e at our school We had to sit around it in class as a group and take turns using it. Playing Oregon Trail!
Jonathan it great to see what apple was like back then and now
Love that Apple II!
So cool!
I swear every fucking time I enter the comments section it's that android fanboy who calls apple or iPhone users dumb but can't even form a complete sentence or spell right with auto correct
Because the autocorrect is shit its not their fault you dumb Apple fanboy
2:25 ... Steve Wozniak was the one who did literally everything.
He is a great engineer and because of him the machine didn't look like a mess of wires and chips. He went through several boards until he figured a way to make it neat.
They were both perfectionists, it is that quality that brought Wozniak and Jobs together as well as their passion for technology.
However, I can't stress this enough....
Woz did everything, especially in the beginning.
Where you get that metallica shirt
I thought that was the retro Slickwraps skin! Man you need to make a video on that! it's only $19!???
Love that shirt Metallica is life!!
I loved the Apple II! Very great computer at the time. That's pretty much the only apple desktop that I loved.
Man, I love those early Apple computers... wish I had a few of them just as a collection
The ending with the iPhone was really neat!
I actually much prefer the old apple logo.
Same, and Apple died for me after Woz left the company, as I felt he was the true soul behind Apple, and after that it was what can we sell at a greatly marked up price to the sheep.
nice shirt
Love the video, Jonathan! Thanks for not just reviewing the box, but actually starting up and messing around too. Cheers!
Wow, great video! Well researched and quite a journey through history.
John has some of the best tech videos around
Let's be honest, as Apple enthusiasts, most of us kind of enjoy being milked... for leather holders and accessories, that is. Fancy, fancy! :)
Once upon a time I use to love apple for innovation 😩
I'm personally not an iPhone fan, but I do love the Apple story and the quality of their stuff is like no other
You know what Apple should do? re-release the iPhone 2G except with today's specs. Same form factor, same size, same thickness. and with the rest of the empty space manage to put a huge battery in there. Just as a retro thing d:
Hacks509 I’m thinking apple could release something like an e line. iPhone e1 e2 e3 etc. I thought of g but that’s lg’s line. Lol
John you are so amazing! You always make sure that you give us the best quality videos as possible! You are an amazing person and an amazing youtuber! lots of love from Toronto!
Im just in love with the bag!!
We had an Apple IIe in our basement when I was a kid. Played a TON of Oregon Trail on that thing.
The wrap on the 7+ is nice
You will Definetly Nail📌 the Video of IMac Pro. Waiting Dec 2017
I remember my high school getting Apple II computers (God I feel old now!) with green monochrome monitors, which after looking at them for a while, would mess your colour perception, so that after working in the computer lab, when back in the classroom, the chalk on the board would look pink.
Next q&a?? Need to know how old you are and your degrees
that ending of a video in a video was dope.
*holds iPhone for first time, sees Apple logo*
"Is this a... *gasp*... MACINTOSH!?"
My dad still has his Apple 2 with screen - works too
That retro cover job you had there is dope!
This was a really done video, Jon! It just goes to show you how far we've come from Apple Products.
The Best Review I've ever seen! Congrats for ur investigation of the first commercial and funny and the impossible comparative IPhone!
As one of the biggest fans of Steve, I would like to say, we should use more iPad in our life more often.
iPad is his dear baby certainly.
One small detail, regarding the Apple II's modular and accesible design. Jobs thought that modularity was a threat to the integral and effortless experience that the Apple II was, while Wozniak thought the complete opposite, being the tech aficionado he was. In the end, Wozniak won this debate, probably because the Apple II was his masterpiece. Jobs knew this, which eventually led to him wanting a masterpiece for himself: Lisa.
Crazy how you found the Apple II and now own it, I’d do anything just to have that thing.
that's actually nice and makes you appreciate Apple a bit more
Apple used to be very concern with giving people easy access to the internals. When the original G4 , the original G3 and the original cube were presented Steve Jobs talked about how easy was to open the machines.
See this is a great video, I feel like the last few months on tld have been lazy but this is real quality
Genuinely fun to watch - love it dude
not a fan of apple but i love the graphics on your vids, like omg the qualityyy
love that red in your eyes
my first iPhone was the 3GS, still have it, still works just fine ;) thumbsUP!
"not like anything we see today from apple where they charge you MILLIONS of dollars for ram.." HAHAHAHAHHA true
I have watched this on Windows' night mode and it looked like the video was from 1977. Nice video by the way.
i love the case/paint job on your phone 😍
I absolutely LOVE your videos, definitely on that notification squad. However the ending to this video was a little weird but that could be just a personal preference. I do appreciate the creative effort though!
Damn those are some sweet retro graphics!
I don't own a single Apple product, but I do like them to some extent. Great video and great words! I love the history of it all.
I play the orchestra!
I love that iPhone case!
Funny thing about this I'm using the iPhone 7plus and I still have the iPhone 2g because my dad owned the iPhone 2g at the time #reppingthatiphone
This is not 1977 to NOW. This is one device from 1977, one from 2007, and one from 2016.
just dropped new merch and its selling like a CITY
The iPhone 7 Plus skin is so cool!
THANK YOU STEVE!!
"to what you're watching this on today" I'm using a 2008 iMac as a second computer xd
its hilarious that Jon confused a yoke for a yolk :)
YOUR SHIRT ROCKS!!!
This is like 10th tech channel I follow to make a video about the original iphone
Great editing as always Jon
Steve Jobs did not have OCD, please don't confuse neatness/organisation with a severe mental illness * eye roll *
Legend says that if you gonna keep tryin', Jon shall replyeth some day...
Your editing is on point!
HAPPY 150 BIRTHDAY CANADA
Awesome video as usual Jonathan!
Dem quality vids. Great job mate!
I played Oregon Trail in Elementary school. Yup...I'm that old.
Make a video where you try to upgrade the Apple II
If possible
I had a teacher as of 2015 who still had one to drive CNC machine
Bring back the Sidekick~ that shit was lit.
Great video and thank you for putting in the time and effort on such a forgotten product. One question? Where did you get that phone case? Take care and I really enjoy your videos. Thanks
I bought an iPod touch in 07, that's the best MP3 player I've ever had.
the last macbook that I know of that has user upgradable RAM is the non retina macbook pro
APPRECIATING ALL THE THINGS ABOUT YOU!!!
@1:52 You actually need many more than 2000 of the Apple II's CPU's to compete with the raw compute power of a modern SOC like the A10X. Especially when you factor in the GPU on the SOC. I reckon 50000 times as fast is closer to the true figure.
How'd you know I was watching this on my iPhone!! Lol
cool case,
this video was like watching a video from verge but cooler
Fun Fact. I've met Paul Dillenberger, one of the creators of Oregon Trail. He was my math sub for a week.
It was nice looking at the Apple II. Now, it would be really cool if we could take a look at the Pippin- the failed gaming console made by Apple.
AWESOME VIDEO JOHN.....
1:36 correction steve jobs wanted it to be simple, steve wozniak however wanted the user to be able to customize it etc
Tallica!!
