It's a joke and maybe an honor cause they were in a class of their own. Saw them on reunion tour in Cincinnati no one sat in their chair and ushers gave up on keeping people from dancing in the ailes
You are right. I've also noticed that throughout all their videos. They seem to be living the emotion of the song they are singing. Specially in this one and Land of a Thousand Dances.
I saw these Geils at the old Boston Garden in 1981 (with John Butcher Axis). Nearly 30 years later it is still one of the 3 best concerts I have EVER been to! That these guys are not in the rock and roll hall of fame is a travesty!
Omg it was feb 25th… how do i know this? Because i was just turning 16 and the parental units wouldn’t let me go🤬 and i personally knew John Butcher at the time 🤬🤬 so out the window and off to Oak Grove into north station. Bought a 15 dollar ticket and had the best time!!
This is such a fun, happy, bouncy song. I bought the BEST OF cassette in the early 80s and I loved this song. It made me realize there were decades of kickass songs and dances before 1982!
Saw them back in 1982 with the Rolling Stones in Naples, Italy. Waited in line from 9:00 in the morning and they did'nt come on till around 7:00 PM. Needless to say, drank ice cold Heinekens all day long ! What a great show !
Damn right these guys should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Saw them for the 1st time 73' and saw them many many times after. I meet Ahmet Ertegun and told him why isn't J.Geils in the Hall of Fame? These guys are true true musicians. Just saw them @ New Years 2010. Tore it up..Wow! Wake up Hall of Fame!!! Damn.
Saw them on this tour and truer words have never been spoken! Peter Wolf was one of best front men. They are right up there with Huey Lewis and the News.
rock and roll hof not complete until j geils band enters the holy shrine, saw these guys in south florida in 77, still one of my top 3 concerts of all time behind the dark side of the moon tour, and zepplins last show.
I too used to love them back in H.S.[78-80]. I always felt that INXS was very similar to their style and band makeup. After them nobody really took off as the bluesy/dance live rock band. We could use one now...
Because the hall LOVES HIp Hop. They hate rock and roll. These guys, ELP, Tragically Hip will not get in. Justin Bierber is already writing his acceptance speech
It's a joke I think...he is close with Jann Wenner so IDK. It's like a farce because they represent pretty much every form of rock...they are a juke joint band!
entered Billboard Feb 26, 1983 ..reached #60 originally a hit for Cannibal and the Headhunters in March 1965, bigger hit for Wilson Pickett in July 1966
@rpm0494 I think I was at that show too. I also saw them on New Years Day of I think 1983 or 84. I believe it was the last show of the tour and then they broke up.
RIP J. Geils. We will see you again in the land of a thousand dances! (I wish)... oh my I always confuse J. Geils (lead guitar) with Peter Wolf (vocals)
totally cool band. It's funny that I live in Boston & only saw them once in NYC. After the show I talked with Peter Wolf backstage. He was interested in the busty blonde (Naomi) I had - cool night...
I found on the internet some sh*tty a$$ list of "na-na-na EPIC songs" by a famous portal and can you freaking believe this one and/or Centerfold weren't on the list!!!! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I agree totally....PLEASE get this group in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!!! They are great and deserve it!
It's almost a joke that they aren't in there...easily the best representation of juke joint music.
@@krisscanlon4051 For sure - they jammed with John Lee Hooker for cryin out loud!!!!
It's a joke and maybe an honor cause they were in a class of their own. Saw them on reunion tour in Cincinnati no one sat in their chair and ushers gave up on keeping people from dancing in the ailes

Who needs Hall Rock of Fame when you got it you got it 👍
Unforgettable show, Detroit- Grande Ballroom '70 or '71, Geils band & Chuck Berry! There were no survivors.
Is it just me or do these guys look like they are having a blast doing this? Love the J. Geils Band.
It's not just you. They're having a blast!
You should have been there!!!
You are right. I've also noticed that throughout all their videos. They seem to be living the emotion of the song they are singing. Specially in this one and Land of a Thousand Dances.
@Roboto129 oh they did not need fancy fireworks & lights they put on an amazing show.

Saw them in 1973. Great concert. Real entertainment.
Damn right these guys should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Saw them for the 1st time 73' and saw them many many times after. Tremendous memory of '80s rock.
GREAT BAND GREAT SONG GREAT SINGERS MR. J.GEILS NOW YOU ARE PLAYING UP IN HEAVEN GOD BLESS AWESOME
These guys are living proof that some bands should ONLY be recorded live.
Saw them on this tour and truer words have never been spoken! Peter Wolf was one of best front men. They are right up there with Huey Lewis and the News.
Love his groovy lil dancing ways. He lets loose. Go Wolf😎
Clásicazo y Con el gran Peter Wolf. Ke Buenos tiempos

La tierra de las mil danzas, así lo conocí y lo bailé a mis 13 años, esta canción nunca pasará de moda / this hits will never go out of style

The RRHOF gets a little less holier every year.
I saw J. Geils the winter of 1981....they really are a fantastic live band!
SMOKIN live band. Studio never did them full justice, capturing that energy. Would LOVEto have a full-length of this concert (Hint hint hint, EMI)
It was off their live album called Showtime! They released it the year after Freeze Frame
DVD of the Freeze Frame Tour would be great for sure
I too used to love them back in H.S.[78-80]. I always felt that INXS was very similar to their style and band makeup. After them nobody really took off as the bluesy/dance live rock band. We could use one now...

I’ve always preferred this version of this song than anybody else’s.
