the follow up shot made it so much funnier to me...
Interpol is also at fault and must fix its own processes. That Russian dissident/critic that was on the Red List 8 times should never have happened. What is Interpol's excuse? Corruption is unfortunately everywhere. It seems Interpol might not be exempt of it.
Bloody oligarchs are critics? You started loving them second after they said something against Russia. Before that you called them "corruption russian oligarchs". Such hypocrisy. Russians hate them anyway because they stole money from russian people and buying much properties on West. And West love this bloody money so much...
Interpol's excuse? They don't write the laws.
@@annalehman93941 Take a long deep breath. There are less enemies in the world that some want to think.
@@RobespierreThePoof They own their own processes and make decisions about how to act/react on their failures and abuses identified.
People in power abusing their positions? Never
They have a monopoly on Violence
I’m sooo surprised lol
😂 that’s a weird way to spell ALWAYS
Thank you for this report. The people need to know what Interpol is all about.. I appreciate the good they do to keep humanity safe, yet member countries breaking Interpol rules and guilty of war crimes should be held accountable and ousted as members.
It’s NOT that simple. The problem is that if you oust a large member like Russia or China, it would affect not only their attempts at abuse, but all other countries in the world who might be seeking fugitives inside Russia or China, too. Can you imagine a world where countries like Russia and China would become havens for criminals around the world fleeing the justice systems of the Free World? Interpol’s mission is NOT to enforce a single standard or a single view of justice on the entire world. Different countries might have different laws and different views of the world. For example: Some other countries might not want to cooperate with the United States, given its stance on the death penalty, which many Americans still support, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Sure, some countries like Russia and China are certainly oppressive, but forcing a singular idea of justice on the world with no allowance for alternative views and systems is even more dangerous and leaves even more room for potential abuse than the alternative.
What question are you answering? Its not fitting the op statement
@@hardrays Response is to the last part of the original post: “yet member countries breaking Interpol rules and guilty of war crimes should be held accountable and ousted as members.” Ousting a member is not a good solution, for the reasons I stated.
Interpol is a neutral information sharing network. It's up to other members to decide whether to act on the notices
@@speedstyle. Exactly! From this report, you can see that some member states may not be perfect in the way they respond to abuse of red notices by countries like Russia, but that’s not exactly a problem with the way Interpol works. If you’re trying to escape from an unfriendly country like Russia, it’s best to go to a country that does not have an extradition treaty with that country. For example: There’s Carlos Ghosn, who escaped to Lebanon because it’s one of the few countries in the world that does not have an extradition treaty with Japan.
Note to self: Tweet the back of Interpol police heads if they arrest you.
I respect what Interpol does. They need to be very careful about this.
It's not the treacherous path between policing and politics. It's the treacherous path between policing and REPRESSION.
Not only repression & politics but repression & vile politics like corruption, agendas, black lists, authoritarianism, & tyranny of the despotic elite.
Freaking scary. Technology can be used for nefarious ends & everything has unintended consequences & uses - look at the internet, social media & now social media. Internet allows cybercrime & cyber attacks that disrupt services & in turn commerce, banking, etc Social media can influence & indoctrinate regular people to extremism or the fringe. And the hubris of those who say AI can be controlled & won’t be problematic is egregious; they will eat crow but who knows what will happen.
There is simply no way the USA hasn’t similarly abused this
It shouldn't be that difficult to make a determination of when the red notice is being used to return political activists to countries where activists are repressed. No democracy should co-operate in arresting activists seeking asylum just for speaking about something their government doesn't like.
Government abuse? No that can't be!
Please let us know the date the video aired, current or in the past, give the date...................please. Important.
Well it talked about Covid and 2022 arrests so prolly recently
Every request and warrant needs to be vetted by Interpol, before they submit the names on the wire to all it's members, especially from the suspected States that illegally and unethically abuse this police system. There are way too many innocent people falling through the cracks to find themselves locked up abroad or killed.!?
Why should they be trusted?
As he says, notices are not 'warrants', just wanted posters in a shared database. It's up to the other members to determine how truthful and actionable each notice is, including where it came from. Interpol itself should stay neutral.
Why is the UK holding a man who has really not broken a UK law? For years the kept him in an embassy. Talk about Injustice
They didn't hold him in the embassy, he was free to leave the building at any time.
@@meintveldman4769 Why are you omitting that he has not been at the embassy since many years but has been in jail without having broken any law?
The UK kept someone in a UK embassy in the UK? Think about it for a second.
Obviously not recognizing the ELEPHANT in the room. Ecuadorian Embassy. One last hint, he is an Aussie and still in a UK jail aka slavelandia. Think for a second.@@DanniDuck
Facts.
It's a tightrope they have to walk.
I understand the rationale behind being neutral.
The job they do is important.
On the other hand, these blatant abuses are criminal.
The Blackstone principe gets abused a lot , by having the ends justify the means...and accepting collateral damage. Also in the US
In the end a very important piece of journalism.
20 million querys a day sounds high.
It's not high, it's only a little bit high.
it occurs whenever someone does a background check on an individual, it's not just police using the system

If Interpol is very effective, why drugs cartels are walking free allover everywhere around the world? drugs business is increasing not decreasing
That question should be asked to their respective national police forces instead of Interpol. There are dozens of drug leaders roaming around freely inside Thailand, the US, and Mexico. Why aren't they arrested yet? Is the law weak or...
Over the years I have read about corruption at Interpol, like the president of the organization, in 2008, "charged with corruption in his native South Africa", or a former head of the organization jailed for 13 and 1/2 years in China for corruption in 2020, to mention a few.
The one in China was a kangaroo court. Dude was basically kidnapped and interrogated while coming back home and nobody knows where he is until China announced that he was 'arrested' for corruption
I don't get it. They want to arrest these criminals but yet all in power break those same rules lmao.
All in power? A bit broad and paranoid. Infowars must work on you.
Nobody likes competition.
If you are ever arrested in a foreign country on false charges, call your embassy immediately!
It doesn't matter that your innocent! The embassy will keep track of your location and ensure certain rights that you might otherwise not have, such as the ability to utilize a phone.
its nice to see 60 minutes posting on youtube
Interpol has the budget of the Omaha Police department! The international police take Russia and Chinas' accusations at face value. Scary
What's the difference between Putin misusing Interpol or England misusing Interpol?
Gee I wonder. What's the difference between an authoritarian regime with massive human rights abuse and a parliamentary democracy ... Gee, if only we could answer this impossible question! Lol.
Cause the UK is more 'civilized' than in Russia lol. Also the UK is one of US most important ally
@@Kuricang31 William Wallace said that once.
My father worked for Interpol... His father worked at Interpol... Wouldn't have happened in their time.
The arrest part is funny, just having an interpol warrant, is not legally enough to arrest someone in nearly any european country.
Non-EU arrest warrants are, generally, non-executable without co-sign of an EU-located judge.
Interpol must be concerned that if they cut off these countries, they wont extradite criminals found in their country wanted by other member states. That is probably a real possibility, but more must be done to differentiate between real criminals and political persecution.
Corruption increasing daily and we have effective in Interpol, sometimes custodian of humanity safety, always hide the truth to people, this policing is there to aid political leaders of the world

Interpol handed over information to the united states about my expression of the united states use of chemical weapons. I think amnesty international is similar by "helping those harmed by governments" while saying that people should not defend against those harms with aggression including guns.
I was later investigated by the united states federal bureau of investigation and detained and drugged while incapacitated by the new york office of mental health in court documents expressing if a person is a threat to themselves or others they person is to be drugged. My distress from new york states courts that caused drugging and manipulation that denied me the ability from mental scale muffling my expression from pain destroying my ability to focus and state i was muffled by terrorist that i expressed to be terrorist in prior events.
including drugs while they i was being inflicted with pain
I have a history of expressing investigative expression about expressing opinions leads to harm in the united states in a debate with a united states national award winner in boston with college students including jayme glover a later united states navy drugger. I was drugged that night. I was tortured and slandered infront of who? I drove far distances i think drugged with there intent to find tractors.
ah sweet schizoposting
I hope your not talking about me in a form intending that drugs should be involved because of my expression. I find what i think your expression is to be a threat. I am concerned. what do you mean by your comment?

There are zero situations where creating great influence and overreaching powers that they won’t be sought out and used by people who seek to exploit them for their own aims. Populations are far too quick to offer up authority and power to people/agencies(usually solely out of fear) when they have no real assurances that they would even be used responsibly or would have any sufficient mechanisms in place for public oversight or accountability.
