A Mac and a PC talks: PC: Hey Mac: Hey, what are you doing? PC: Not much, just playing a game. Mac: Ah, nice. What game? PC: Every freaking game i want!
I love the random appearance of the superhero "Bit-locker." Doesn't that sound like a nasty put down? "Way to go Bit-locker!" "Nice one, Bit-locker!" or "Who were the Bit-lockers who thought this would be a good idea?"
Brings back memories of my favorite Springsteen hits like Born to Run..slowly and intermittently. Blunder road. Dancing with that Dork. Glory days..of windows 3.1 and of course Bored in the USA.
This just convinced me! I'm switching to ANYTHING BUT WINDOWS on my next system. I cannot believe those idiots allowed that video to reach the public. Excuse me, I have to go take another shower now. I feel DIRTY, and not in a good way.
Its supposed to look like the album cover for Bruce Springsteen's Born In The USA. That is exactly what is pictured on there except for the Microsoft Windows Vista flag
My ears bleed, my eyes itch, and I've got to.... get to the *cough* toilet and vomit! too late BLLLWEEEECHCHRRRCCHRRRR!!!!.. *cough* BLWERRRRRCHCCRRHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
This video made me cringe. It brought back bad memories of canned stereotypical customer interactions and expressions that comprised the orientation part of my first retail job. Seeing people sing, dance, and jump for glee for Vista (or any Microsoft product) brings back memories of "Mrs. Smith, I see that you're paying with a Visa card. Would you like to apply for a Sears card? It only takes a minute" and then she says "yes, I would! Sign me up!" with a huge smile and no hesitation.
@TheReverendBizarre To be fair, it's not really advertising. It's an internal video meant to be distributed to their sales people to get them to sell the product.
Good thing this was an internal video and not leaked onto the intarwebs... oh wait. At least I didn't have to pay for my copy of Vista. Didn't even buy a new computer, either.
It's a reference to the Windows ecosystem - which collectively is all the OEM boxes/devices/software designed for Windows - ie. the stuff that gives Windows any value :P
Shame they cut off the end of the video, the bit where the special bus (complete with tongue marks on the glass) takes them all - each tightly clutching a copy of vista - back to hospital for further shock therapy.
It was a catchy tune, the lyrics flowed smoothly, and there was an added element of humour - marketing hype exaggerated just enough to give it "spoofyness". Absurdity arises from the all this creative energy employed to prop up a failed product from a corrupt company. In the end it is a corruption of Art itself. We see a pep rally for a team that knows it is about to lose the game. It was obviously designed to lift their spirits, but it only ends up underscoring their failure.
This video screams of a sweaty Steve Ballmer jamming behind the control panel during post edit.
who is here from the the verge article?!
meeee
I couldn't not click on those links
This video reaffirms my belief in Vista's commitment to Sparkle Motion.
This is the best Apple Commercial yet!
This is the antithesis of cool
I actually felt a little piece of my soul die when I watched this video.
And we wonder why intelligent life forms from other other planets haven't contacted us...
I love it.
Not as a commercial, but as what it is (internal joke/fun).
Btw; Really good melody!
I like this song
Delete everything else on youtube. It should now only exist for this, and this alone.
This video would convert a lot more people than those "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" commercials.
Tramps like us, baby, we were born to run Linux!
It runs fine. I've yet to experience the Vista apocalypse that people seem to expect...
Just when I thought there could be nothing worst than vista ....... this comes along
Rock on microsoft!!
Why are you guys rating this two star? This is the most funniest commercal I have EVER seen!
"The Scranton branch of Microsoft?"...that is funny. Nice Office reference.
I dont think i can sleep tonight....
that was truly horrific
you'd think their sales team would realize that this video would ruin whatever reputation is left of vista.
A Mac and a PC talks:
PC: Hey
Mac: Hey, what are you doing?
PC: Not much, just playing a game.
Mac: Ah, nice. What game?
PC: Every freaking game i want!
Seriously Microsoft you are like that really unfunny overly optimistic uncle going through his mid life crisis that nobody invites to parties.
I find this offensive
If you want to scare away hipsters, show them this video.
Whiskey Foxtrot Tango. Who the hell thought this was a good idea at all? I want to give every single person involved in this a thermonuclear wedgie.
Oh god...it's Lurch singing Vista song... BRAIN EXPLODES! WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?
"Fuck it" - Microsoft's marketing strategy
I think a part of my soul just died.
I love the random appearance of the superhero "Bit-locker." Doesn't that sound like a nasty put down? "Way to go Bit-locker!" "Nice one, Bit-locker!" or "Who were the Bit-lockers who thought this would be a good idea?"
What was the motivation behind this video? Wasn't Vista punishment enough?
1280 Microsoft employees were asked by their boss to like this video.
Wow. Microsoft really have captured the Zeitgeist...I'm switching immediately.
This is the first time in the history of time that anyone has said "microsoft sales team rocks". it's a huge advancement in what i call hyper-lying.

OMFGLOLzorz! I know it's hard to top the teen beat magazine pics and the MS-DOS 5 rap, and I don't know how they did it, but here it is!
Microsoft convinces them selfs that their product is not a giant failure.
I LOLED
please, call an ambulance for these guys.
I think i just lost a few braincells...
this is great haha
Oh for christ sake, if ever anything where to cause an instant face-palm, this'd be it.
I'm pissed! I WANT THOSE THREE MINUTES OF MY LIFE BACK!
Haha. For a while there, i thought it was a Mac at 0:52. I almost shit my pants.
Uh, I think they meant it to be a funny car-wreck type of a thing.
And it's a wonderful success.
Its supposed to look like the album cover for Bruce Springsteen's Born In The USA. That is exactly what is pictured on there except for the Microsoft Windows Vista flag
This video did not have the tambourine man in so many of Springsteen's videos, and therefore failed.
Ezactly - wonder how much a conventional ad-campaign would cost compared to this little gem?
This is amazing.
I want the last 3 minutes and 3 seconds of my life back
Das Video ist einfach super, da kann man sehen das Microsoft eine Klasse fuer sich ist.
"If they have been waiting ..." ??? Wow.
I feel sick. I think I need a shower and paracetamol.
"And we're gonna keep rockin', with SP1!" LOL!!!
OMFG, one part of me just died. World just won't be the same anymore :(
It is still beter than windows 8 :D
Vista, gotta get me some.
What Fucking Tripe?
/hangs head in shame
//all aboard the failboat
When vista came out, I'd switched me and all my costumers to linux...
As you see an apple laptop on the table.... classic
Words.Fail.Me.
*headdesk*
If they have been waiting, no more hesitating! When they see the improvements in security! Fuck I love this video
Theif OR criminal. As in two opposed things. Genius.
it blows my mind that they got BRUCE FUCKING SPRINGSTEEN to make a song about vista's new features
what is the world coming to
What a nightmare. I need to wash my eyes with acid.
My ears bleed, my eyes itch, and I've got to.... get to the *cough* toilet and vomit! too late BLLLWEEEECHCHRRRCCHRRRR!!!!.. *cough* BLWERRRRRCHCCRRHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Looks like they re-hired the MS-DOS 5 Upgrade video production team.
You guys need to learn the meaning of "tongue in cheek" *rolls eyes*
@TheReverendBizarre To be fair, it's not really advertising. It's an internal video meant to be distributed to their sales people to get them to sell the product.
These guys should go to the doctor, and say "uhh... we suck."
Yeah. Yeah.
I feel so sorry for everyone in this video. So very, very, sorry.
Bruce Springsteen should lead a torchlight parade to Microsoft, and burn it down.
-jcr
Good thing this was an internal video and not leaked onto the intarwebs... oh wait.
At least I didn't have to pay for my copy of Vista. Didn't even buy a new computer, either.
Its official. Microsoft does not have a marketing department.
It's a reference to the Windows ecosystem - which collectively is all the OEM boxes/devices/software designed for Windows - ie. the stuff that gives Windows any value :P
augh, god! That just punched me in the brain...
...i had no choice, my old pc blew-up so i had to get a new PC...and all have Vista...
That wasn't so bad...*spontaneously combusts*
What? This song is hot. I just put it on my Zune that was autographed by Steve Ballmer. "Desktop and mobility!" hahahahhahahahahhahahahhahaha.
Now I'll have nightmares the whole week :\
I don't think "The Boss" would approve of this!
My god... this is the funniest internal Microsoft video since "The MS DOS 5 Rap".
BRUCE SERVICEPACK!
When I get out of work today I'm selling all my computers and buying a Mac.
I love this video.
and i know half of you guys would be giving in 5/5 and saying "lmao" if it were an apple video
This is the best thing ever.
i actually felt a little piece of my soul die
it made me rofl so much i loled myself
To long to see everything im putting on Bruce here at home instead, Born in the USA lalala booorn....full volume
Great song - I love this Company!!!
I think that sax solo is a garageband loop
The Courtney Cox copy is what really makes this.

They'll say "Linux, gotta get me some"
after this video I lost all faith in mankind
Shame they cut off the end of the video, the bit where the special bus (complete with tongue marks on the glass) takes them all - each tightly clutching a copy of vista - back to hospital for further shock therapy.
Wow. If my job was to sell Vista and had to watch this, I'd f-ing quit.
hahahaaha, i bet they had to wash out their mouths with bleach when they were done with this
You know what the oldest profession in history is...

@ Schnidler: that says more about you than it does Microsoft.
That made me cry.
No, they're just selling the Optimised Desktop value. That's a pitch that never fails, so they saw lots of sales.
