Just found your channel. Love your videos. And you've finally found your first mansplainer probably one of many. lol. Ponds are fab for allotments. They bring in so many insects, etc. They actually help with keeping wildlife healthy and bring birds in that help with snails and slugs :) but you probably already know this :) Just put a metal grid ontop. That will keep the noisy neighbours happy. Were lucky at our plot were allowed fencing. And have blackberries growing up to keep unwanted eyes from getting involved. Most are lovely. I got a plot a couple of years ago. Started to put down cardboard and bricks for weights, went there a few times to sort it out. Had some bloke come over at me, shouting that I don’t belong there and I’m trespassing!!! Decided then that allotment plot wasn’t for me. Oh well.
The Dinner plate dhalias are amazing! Hi, I laughed when I heard the "man" ask you if you got permission. The power these people have goes straight to their heads, and it goes on on most allotments that I have known of. I renovated to whole big plots with nice tidy paths, beds and neatly built composting sections. Members of the committee could not resist harassing me over nothing, yet they ignored people spraying weedkillers on windy days, plots being left for weeks or even months with no stopping the grass growing 5 foot high and brambles and rubbish. They just like waving their fingers and going into their meetings (highly important occasions to compare willies) and making up new rules. Anyway, you're doing well, nice video, thank you. X
Haha since this vlog, I’ve actually joined to committee 😂😂 so I can be on the inside 🕵️ and it seems he’s one to himself and the rest of the committee are actually really lovely! And they like the pond 👀
@@HouseOfTedYT That's great, I'm glad. The funny thing about my experience is that at least 3 of the members wanted my plots because they were so nice. Got a plot very quickly many years ago, but left it pronto when I got my first taste of the "Committee". Basically, a bunch of folk who like having other folk to boss around, probably because that's the only place they ever get to do it. "Welcome" consisted of a list of things they'd noted when you'd just begun, like being annoyed that your exceedingly well-behaved children had had the temerity to go and say hello to other plot holders (turns out venturing onto their plot, via the path, is verboten without specific permission) and "complaining about" (aka "mentioning") all the glass in the soil, which isn't great if you want your children to learn how to grow things. I basically figured out in no time why they had vacant plots - because they were horrible people and they had probably been horrible to anyone whose "face didn't fit" - only those willing to put up with bullying stayed. We sold our house and moved into one with a much bigger garden instead. All in all, getting a plot was a horrible experience. As a female, I was vastly outnumbered (my OH does the grass, etc, but not interested in growing stuff per se) and I do think there was a certain misogyny involved which wouldn't be tolerated now. However, there are far too many rules for me. I can see there has to be a limit to what people can do, but a lot of their decisions don't make sense. I keep hearing how people are told to leave their plot in pristine condition for the next person, but if the person gives up because they can't cope anymore (a lot of plot holders are old) how are they supposed to do that and, in any case, the half plot I was given was the absolute worst in the whole allotment and was covered in weeds, including brambles, as well as the soil being full of broken glass. I think that's actually the norm and the first year is spent clearing, fixing things and setting up your beds and systems (composters, etc).
I stumbled upon this about your pond.. I'm in Scotland, watching late November and thinking exactly the same thing. I wouldn't put them in the ground until early June, but it just needs to be after last frost. Watching on, I see she figured it out - whew!

Talking of health and safety, do you have the free National Allotment Society insurance? We get that through our Committee and it covers accidents on the plot. A shallow pond for frogs etc should be fine. We have them on our allotments.
@HouseOfTedYT I've put pebbles around mine and to be sure I've also have Willow branches so will place around at a later date... don't give up, you are doing good for the Eco.....
Just put a rigid mesh over your pond to keep them happy . New subscriber here looking forwards to following you . I used my spade as a hammer at the lotty yesterday lol
Just seen your first video. Well done. Subscribed and looking forward to seeing your progress. Don’t beat yourself up about being told off. You didn’t know about the rules. (May be use cable ties for holding the pallets together - I’ve seen that tip on other channels). Julie x
Watched so many UA-cam channels about allotments. There seems to be a lot of rules and regulations, and yet, other plot holders are dumping their rubbish all over the empty plots, leaving a nightmare for the new allotment holders. I’ve seen plenty of times skip loads of rubbish, old greenhouses, sheds have been dumped on site! Is there no one seeing this happening? I would love an allotment, but I’m not cleaning someone else’s rubbish for them, and the plot being contaminated with plastic where I want to grow food!
Haha there are definitely pros and cons! A pro of a committee / private allotment is that there’s generally no fly tipping or rubbish dumped, but then there’s the politics! The ideal is to have a beautiful big garden anyway 😂🧡
I put heavy wire mesh over the pond plants and frogs can enter to and from through the grill but nothing can fall in are you allowed water butts on your site if so id ask the committee to tell everyone they have to have lids which can be padlocked closed encase kids climb into them and drown in the water
This is why I have said no to advocating on behalf of other Gardeners at our plot. No patience for this kind of selfish egocentric ignorance. Don't want to have to deal with people like this. Gardening is largely in part to get away from them.
Stick your pond behind your hut and use pallets to block it off then no body will see it amd the frogs ect can come and go as the please win win 👍 good luck with your plot 🎉
We are in a committee run site and it is similar although the rules are laid out better by the sounds of it. Just apply now saying you didn’t know as it isn’t in the rules. I wouldn’t worry about the telling off. Small man syndrome. Love the comment about the baths!
@@HouseOfTedYT I think the law states once someone has told you it's dangerous the responsibility becomes yours as you now know of the dangers it could be. Seems unfair that bad parenting becomes your problem. I would try and get some large metal grid put on top. You might even find something like that tipped on an unused allotment plot.
I put my crappy shed up without permission, luckily its within the size were allowed.😂 I almost put a pond in but used the container for a worm farm instead, were not allowed pets either 😂😂😂👍👌
detention for you lol ive heard some guys who run allotments can be a bit funny about you doing things lol if your plot is prone to flooding you can look into building a french drain to help
Don't let that one know-it-all man shake you up. He's just being nosy, and anointing himself as some kind of authority. Tell him to mind his own. You're doing a fine job for your first try.
As soon as you said committee run, I thought OH NO GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN, I left an allotment because of very childish committee members. A tip I learnt, dont cover the soil, let nature do its work. Good luck !!!!
I also ran from my committee run plot..told me to bury asbestos and when I had got to the point where my plot was looking lovely left and because of difference of opinions they gave me 1 months notice winter time to take my belongings x good luck
Hi Hope your feeling better…. this cold rain doesn’t help. I’ve seen another youtuber build a frog pond and they allowed it if she put something over, she used what looked likes a panel from a dog crate? With a gap one end where the frog ramp is for anything to get in and out. I think it’s a new rule as older plots shown on UA-cam don’t have anything over🤷♀️ I love the calendar, that will be so helpful 👍🏻 Take care 🤗🌱🌷
@@HouseOfTedYT If it’s that important to them they should update the rules and make sure new plot holders are aware 🤷♀️ I don’t think you did anything wrong and approaching you while you were alone was a bit out of order I thought. ❤️🌷
Hi new subscriber them pallets you are useing for a compost bin two things they look like they have oil or something that could leech into soil and render it useless plus when useing pallets make sure they ht stamped on them they are heat treated and safe to use. Any other pallets that don't have ht stamped on them are chemical treated and you should use again the chemicals will leech into the soul and render the compost no good . All the best and looked forward to your progress.😊
I think the pallets are fine! They looked odd I think in the video as they had been out in the rain. My partner who sourced them told me they should be ok to use (I hope he’s right!) thank you for the advice again John 🧡
So basically, if you have a committee allotment, you have to do everything their way? Sounds like a nightmare because if they don’t like you for whatever reason, they can just make up rules on the fly and make your experience a misery. Luckily, I’m on good terms with my allotment neighbours and council rep. However, we have the opposite problem where people bring so much PVC, bath tubs, tyres etc and they just accumulate and the council doesn’t do anything about it. Plus people bring their rubbish from home and even trade waste which is basically fly tipping
All the other committee members we have spoken to have been really nice and complimented our work on the plot! And to be honest I don’t think he meant any ill intent 👀 I guess whichever way you go there’s problems! There was no way I could have got a council allotment as the waiting lists are crazy long! 👩🌾🧡
@@HouseOfTedYT that’s reassuring. Like you said, just wait for an email and go from there. Good luck with it. A few of the plot holders on my site didn’t like me at first and were always telling me off. I called them the vegetable police (not to their faces) However, I get on really well with them now as I like to think I’ve done a good job on my plot and earned their respect. Hopefully!
Check the rules see if you can keep it. Maybe a border like the ones around your bed. I put mine in woopsie. If it aint in the rules i would say it's fine
You don't know what to do because of the low lying area? Isn't that a pile of dirt at the end of that area? You need to shovel it back onto the low area to raise it above the flooded area.
If you have a committee based allotment there should be a copy of the rules etc. You should have been given a copy when you got the allotment. You've made great progress 😊 hope you feel better soon.😊
The politics of allotments can be suffocating. This is precisely why we ended up buying a small plot of land after years of walking on eggshells. I would definitely rifle through your clauses on the contract and if it does not mention a pond then you can contest that. As far as I know you are allowed to have a pond on your allotment (unless clearly stipulated otherwise) as long as it is safe and does not pose a direct hazard to other people. If it is close to a public path then I would knock a few posts in and put mesh around the pond so that there is no way any child or animal can fall in. That way you can prove to the committee that a) it is not a hazard and the perimeter is secure and b) you are taking their 'health and safety' concerns seriously. I doubt that if you were to take these steps they would do anything else. They are generally more concerned with rubbish and untidy plots which yours certainly is not! Good work and let us know how it goes. Just read up on your contract again.
I read through the rules I was given and signed and there was nothing about ponds! I’m happy to add some safety features if they really need them, but otherwise I’ll just wait to see if it goes any further! Thank you for you kind comment 🧡
New sub from recommendations. Man shouts at you because he is fed up, sadge and tired of shouting at clouds! Allotment cliches and politics put me off allotmenting. Is this a council or a privately ran allotment?
Good to have you with us! It’s a committee allotment (I’ve since actually joined the committee so I can be on the inside 😂🕵️) - 99% of people are absolutely lovely! It’s a small minority thankfully 🤞🏻
When I was told that kids might fall into my pond then I told them "people shouldn't be walking on my allotment anyway", but I did put a fence around it. Although mine was 6ft deep.
I have seen quite a few YouYube channels about starting on an allotment and many seem to have trouble with "the committee" I cannot understand why these older (and generally they ARE older) busybodies want to make it as difficult as they can for younger allotment holders...why on earth don't they try and encourage young new blood instead of all the negative "oooh we don't do it like that, we never have and we never will" attitudes...the power of being on the committee just seems to go to their heads...it's why I will NEVER bother with an allotment...I'll just stick to my own garden wihich I am fortunate enough to have.
I’ve been on the plot a little longer now and I must say he is in the minority! Everyone has been lovely - all be it a bit old school! I wish I had the space to garden at home - that’s the dream! 🧡
Children (and even adults) can drown in a puddle, but you can see their point. However, as long as you're not concreting the ground underneath, which would have long term consequences for the plot, and you can find a way of making the pond safe (a grill or mesh over the top is the easiest way), I can't see why it wouldn't be allowed. I can't stand rules for the sale of rules. I'd rather follow common sense. I fully believe power should never be handed to people who want it and, boy, do those committee types love a smidgeon of power. Like the Plod, they often just make up laws and rules on the spot (so I have found from watching UA-cam videos). Question everything.
@@HouseOfTedYT they shouldn’t. I was in some whole drama about turkeys just say sorry and explain your new to this and that you didn’t know. However now you do know you’ll happily ask permission. Also if you can make friends with someone on the committee so you can ask these things. Basically all structures you need permission for. But it should be on your contract. Perhaps ask for a copy of the rules.
@ThatBritishHomestead I knew about buildings as it says that in the rules but no mention of anything else in there! (I have double checked 😂) thank you 🧡
You can have a pond but you need approval the committee must know of all changes made to the set up of the ground. It will be in the laughable rules that the secretary is still in the process of writing...ridiculous. same with many other rules that are in the process of being written.
Allotment committees seem to exist for old men to sit around gossiping, feeling powerful by telling other people what they can and can't do. The rules should say that children are only allowed on the allotments with a supervising adult, that they should be kept off other people's plots and that their safety is the adult supervising them's concern. The trouble is, if a committee member takes a dislike to you, you will have no end of problems.....
Haha, since this video I’ve actually been invited to join the committee 🥲 so there will at least be 1 young female voice to shout up. Those are the rules - any visitors should stay on your plot. Either way I can get the inside scoop now 😛🧡
That guy has (probably unknowingly) just put me off wanting to get involved with an allotment. Can't be doing with that when (amongst other things) growing and tending is supposed to be good for mental health.
I think he meant well.. probably came across a bit differently 😂 But everyone else including other committee members have been absolutely lovely! Dont let it put you off, the joy of allotmenting and gardening totally outweighs any negativity!
Fight for your pond ,frogs n toads will eat dozens of slugs n snails each ev ery night , use squarish piece of unused wood as a mallet , good luck , mick

Stop nit-picking. The kid is giving it a go. She is just now learning, up against a difgicult plot and doing great. We need more like her. Encourage her more, criticise less.
Wow. Grown adults should not have to be told not to leave open Water around where it could pose a risk to Children. It's only takes a teaspoon or two. And after being told, you're more concerned about your plot than a Child drowning. Its not *a rule* you should have to be told. Maybe they assumed you're an adult with common sense and a sense of responsibility to others other than yourself. And then you decide to leave the Water and wait and see if you get told off.. or a Child doesn't fall in. Wow. 😡
Whilst I appreciate your comment comes from a place of safety, I did mention that I would be happy to add some safety features if the society recommended them, and that I would be happy to fill it in if it came to that! Our allotments are gated, which means that anyone on the allotment would be a plot owner, and therefore should be following the rules (that I have signed and agreed to as well as everyone else on the site) that states children should only be there under supervision, and should not leave their supervisors plot. I will also mention that there are bathtubs full of water all over the site including in communal areas - I therefore didn’t think a small, very shallow pond on the plot would be an issue. As I said, I understand your comment comes from a place of health and safety, and I’ll leave it at that. Thanks for your comment 🧡
Respectfully, there are other dangerous things on a allotment other than a pond. Children shouldn’t wander off around unsafe areas and it shouldn’t be the allotment owner’s responsibility for poor parenting. Sharp wood, heavy pallets, broken tools, small sinkholes or dug out earth and deep puddles etc.
I’m a mum myself and honestly, If my kids fell in someone else’s pond I’d be so embarrassed 😂😂. I can imagine kids do wander around on allotments because they are kids and they get bored! But it isn’t your job to parent anyone else’s children.
"It only takes a teaspoon or two" You're not the sharpest tool in the shed, are you. Also - if children need to be supervised, who's at fault if they fall in? The pond or the supervisor?

Oo I’ve not heard of that, I’ll look into it thank you! 🧡👩🌾
I have a pond for the frogs, I'm very lucky that the allotment supervisor has given blessing, I think it depends on the council.. 🎉
Still waiting for my frogs!! I’m just waiting to see if they say anything else 😂🧡
Glad its not just me improvising with tools 🧡😂
Hi I was going to buy his calender but living Ln Scotland we can't go by his dates as its a lot colder here we are about six weeks behind take care 😊
Just seen your first video. Well done. Subscribed and looking forward to seeing your progress. Don’t beat yourself up about being told off. You didn’t know about the rules. (May be use cable ties for holding the pallets together - I’ve seen that tip on other channels). Julie x
That’s a great tip! Thank you 👩🌾🧡
New subscriber here, I so hope you get to keep your pond. 😊
Take care
Allie & Tricia 🤗
Me too! Thank you 👩🌾🧡
Watched so many UA-cam channels about allotments.
Im happy to put something over the top if I need to! I dont want to harm any wildlife either 😔 Thank you for your comment!🧡
Lovely what your doing keep 😂 don't give up.👍👍👍
Thank you!!
Could you make your pond child safe as a compromise? Grille over the top or something? X
We have just added a wooden grate over the top of it today 🧡
This is why I am so glad that my allotment site does not have a Committee interfering in the working of other people’s plots!
I think there’s probably pros and cons for both! 👩🌾
This is why I have said no to advocating on behalf of other Gardeners at our plot. No patience for this kind of selfish egocentric ignorance. Don't want to have to deal with people like this. Gardening is largely in part to get away from them.
I'm pretty sure the one I was offered was Council AND had a Committee - double trouble.
Ive always wanted a alotment plot lucky to have like 5 diffrent ones in a 3 mile radius of my house
We were on a waiting list for ages, but eventually went through a private committee and managed to get one! They are like gold-dust 👩🌾🧡
Maybe a little fence around the pond would satisfy their health and safety concerns?
Possibly! I’ll wait and see what they say 🙄😂🧡
Hi where did u get ur lovely allotment mug from?
It was a Christmas present from my lovely boyfriend, he says he got it from Etsy - typing in something like ‘gardening mug’. I hope that helps 😂🧡
Stick your pond behind your hut and use pallets to block it off then no body will see it amd the frogs ect can come and go as the please win win 👍 good luck with your plot 🎉
Thank you!!
We are in a committee run site and it is similar although the rules are laid out better by the sounds of it. Just apply now saying you didn’t know as it isn’t in the rules. I wouldn’t worry about the telling off. Small man syndrome. Love the comment about the baths!
Everyone else I’ve spoken to has been lovely - hoping it was a one off 😂 thank you! 🧡
You can have a pond has long has you have a sign saying deep water, and its fenced so children who stray off can't get hurt, great job your doing
We’re popping a cover on it too! Thank you 🧡
@@HouseOfTedYT I think the law states once someone has told you it's dangerous the responsibility becomes yours as you now know of the dangers it could be.
They’ll probably consider the frogs as my pets at this rate 😂👩🌾
@@HouseOfTedYT don't say Kermit for gods sake 🐸🤣😭👍
😂😂
detention for you lol ive heard some guys who run allotments can be a bit funny about you doing things lol if your plot is prone to flooding you can look into building a french drain to help
We built a bit of a drain but we’ll have to look into it properly! Thanks🧡
@@HouseOfTedYT no probs
Hi
Mr Nigel said anything below ground.
Don't let that one know-it-all man shake you up. He's just being nosy, and anointing himself as some kind of authority. Tell him to mind his own. You're doing a fine job for your first try.
Thank you!🧡
Committee's on an allotment site 😏🤭 dont they just love the sound of their own voices lol.Your doing a fabulous job on YOUR plot 🌱🌱🌱💞
Thank you so much!👩🌾🧡
When you take out a "Contract" for an Allotment. You will be given a list of rules.
Do's and Don't's.
Retired Irish allotment holder.
Yeah I think I mentioned at the end of this video that it wasn’t mentioned in the rules!
Im sure if you put some sort of metal grid over pond nobody would object as it wouldn't be a safety issue anyway good luck
I’m waiting to see if it escalates 😂 I’m happy to add some safety measures if they protest 😅👩🌾
As soon as you said committee run, I thought OH NO GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN, I left an allotment because of very childish committee members. A tip I learnt, dont cover the soil, let nature do its work. Good luck !!!!
Hahaha! The other committee members we have met have actually been really lovely! We will see how it goes 😂🧡
I also ran from my committee run plot..told me to bury asbestos and when I had got to the point where my plot was looking lovely left and because of difference of opinions they gave me 1 months notice winter time to take my belongings x good luck
🐝Thanks for the great video 🌻 WHAHAHA kids can fall into the pond ehu ehu 🤣
I know 🙄 hey ho! 🧡
Hi
Hope your feeling better…. this cold rain doesn’t help.
I’ve seen another youtuber build a frog pond and they allowed it if she put something over, she used what looked likes a panel from a dog crate? With a gap one end where the frog ramp is for anything to get in and out. I think it’s a new rule as older plots shown on UA-cam don’t have anything over🤷♀️
I love the calendar, that will be so helpful 👍🏻
Take care 🤗🌱🌷
Hi! Feeling much better thank you 🧡 I’ll wait and see what the committee say! I’m happy to follow the rules if there are any!
@@HouseOfTedYT If it’s that important to them they should update the rules and make sure new plot holders are aware 🤷♀️ I don’t think you did anything wrong and approaching you while you were alone was a bit out of order I thought.
❤️🌷
@katiekat6768 I think his intentions were good but I was definitely taken aback! I agree it should be in the rules if they want to enforce it 👀🤷🏼♀️
Hi new subscriber them pallets you are useing for a compost bin two things they look like they have oil or something that could leech into soil and render it useless plus when useing pallets make sure they ht stamped on them they are heat treated and safe to use. Any other pallets that don't have ht stamped on them are chemical treated and you should use again the chemicals will leech into the soul and render the compost no good
. All the best and looked forward to your progress.😊
I think the pallets are fine! They looked odd I think in the video as they had been out in the rain. My partner who sourced them told me they should be ok to use (I hope he’s right!) thank you for the advice again John 🧡
I’d just move the pond to the corner of the plot that floods and crest a natural marsh land.
I wish we’d have known how badly it floods before we built the pond 😂🤦🏼♀️🧡
I’m waiting to see if they say anything else! 😂🧡
You don't know what to do because of the low lying area? Isn't that a pile of dirt at the end of that area? You need to shovel it back onto the low area to raise it above the flooded area.
The pile of dirt is our makeshift compost pile haha! It’s all grass/weeds/etc that we pulled up when we first took on the plot 😂🧡
On our site ponds are banned now after child fell into there parents one which was ment to have metal grill over
Oh no! 😢 I understand the health and safety reasons but it’s only about 4 inches deep! I’ll see what the committee say 🧡
If you have a committee based allotment there should be a copy of the rules etc. You should have been given a copy when you got the allotment. You've made great progress 😊 hope you feel better soon.😊
I had a look as soon as i got home - no mention of ponds! Thank you 🧡
I came here for the drama xD
Hahah😂 🧡
No1 should be on your plot to fall in anyway so they should just butt out i have a pond on mine was there before i got it!
Haha no one else has said anything so I think the pond is safe!!
Great video 😊
Thank you!👩🌾🧡

@Arransvegpatch must be!😂🧡
The politics of allotments can be suffocating.
I say make the pond bigggger and down with the committee 😂
😂😂👩🌾
New sub from recommendations. Man shouts at you because he is fed up, sadge and tired of shouting at clouds! Allotment cliches and politics put me off allotmenting. Is this a council or a privately ran allotment?
Good to have you with us! It’s a committee allotment (I’ve since actually joined the committee so I can be on the inside 😂🕵️) - 99% of people are absolutely lovely! It’s a small minority thankfully 🤞🏻
@@HouseOfTedYT That's good to hear. Yes there is always one.
When I was told that kids might fall into my pond then I told them "people shouldn't be walking on my allotment anyway", but I did put a fence around it. Although mine was 6ft deep.
Mine is definitely not 6ft! Its pushing 6 inches 😂
@@HouseOfTedYT That's good to hear and Yes...I do appreciate how lucky I am to have a small garden of my own.
Because you are new you will get hell for a bit. Then after a bit you can give as good as you get and they will love you. Hang in there. 😊
Hahah! Still getting used to the allotment politics 😂🧡
Yes the allotment politics can be really extreme. It’s bit rubbish
I just want to grow some broccoli 😂 hopefully they don’t take it further 🧡
@@HouseOfTedYT they shouldn’t. I was in some whole drama about turkeys just say sorry and explain your new to this and that you didn’t know. However now you do know you’ll happily ask permission. Also if you can make friends with someone on the committee so you can ask these things. Basically all structures you need permission for. But it should be on your contract. Perhaps ask for a copy of the rules.
@@HouseOfTedYTah just got to the last bit that you have looked… just the way they are sometimes
@ThatBritishHomestead I knew about buildings as it says that in the rules but no mention of anything else in there! (I have double checked 😂) thank you 🧡
@@HouseOfTedYT that’s so odd honestly my drama was very similar to that. It wasn’t anything I had done it was just miscommunications
You can have a pond but you need approval the committee must know of all changes made to the set up of the ground. It will be in the laughable rules that the secretary is still in the process of writing...ridiculous. same with many other rules that are in the process of being written.
I’m still waiting to hear from anyone official! Hopefully if they want to enforce it in future they will update the rules 👀🧡
Either way I can get the inside scoop now 😛🧡
Fence is your plot
Oh yes, those stupid bylaws and rules hidden in the lack of small print.
Ponds are good things on allotments
You always get tossers on committees- keep you chin up
Bollocks to em!!!
😂😂
Say its airated water for the plot and you top it up 😂
Great idea 😂🧡
That guy has (probably unknowingly) just put me off wanting to get involved with an allotment. Can't be doing with that when (amongst other things) growing and tending is supposed to be good for mental health.
I think he meant well.. probably came across a bit differently 😂 But everyone else including other committee members have been absolutely lovely! Dont let it put you off, the joy of allotmenting and gardening totally outweighs any negativity!
Don't get to involved with the committee there's rules for every thing they make up new rules dally

RULES shouldn't be that hard to understand. Hopefully you'll understand that in the future.
The ‘rules’ didn’t mention anything about ponds 😂
Wow. 😡
Maybe you should rename this video "Creating drama at the plot".
"It only takes a teaspoon or two"
You're not the sharpest tool in the shed, are you.
Also - if children need to be supervised, who's at fault if they fall in? The pond or the supervisor?
Oh yes, those stupid bylaws and rules hidden in the lack of small print.
