This song combines the feeling of "the end is nigh" to "come dance with me in the flames" in a beautiful symphonic marriage, just like the story it brings along. In short, it’s beautifully sad like an old memory you cherish.
I don't know anything about music theory, I can't identify notes or chords by ear, I can't say what here is basic common technique or skillful crafting. What I can say is that "We'll watch the hourglass" hits every single part of my brain that's responsible for enjoying sounds harder than almost any other single line I can remember in any song.
Did the same from just how enjoyable Bleeding Sun and Dystopian Fiction from just the instrumental (the music instruments used) like what the heck- my brain really enjoyed the sounds hearing.
Okay, now let's talk real: this song is indeed a masterpiece in its composition and lyrics, but, more than that, it's an incredible piece of work sound-design wise. The way you play with sonorities and frequencies, the delays and the panning... it's like a whole landscape of sounds that we discover bit by bit. Since Godhunter (and even earlier, with Let there be fire), You're no longer creating songs, you're creating real audio movies, and it's awesome. Thanks for what you do!
@@ohhnyx9229 honestly how you describe it doesn't quite match the actual definition but i think this can and should be another definition. (Also its one of the names of my playlists)
@@alexl5883 Well, from what I've found, it's close enough from the actual definition ! ("A soundscape is a sound or combination of sounds that forms or arises from an immersive environment." as wiki says)

I really enjoy these dark atmospheric down-tempo songs like this, Remains and No More Heroes. And I love the way it expands on the mythology of the Aeterno storyline by introducing the concept of an alternate ending. Good stuff!
This song gives me vibes from Requiem for the Hunter. The end has come for the world and no hope remains for humanity. So those who wish to survive take who and what they love and go to live in isolation. Kinda like a Zombie Apocolypse, the world has ended and nothing of humanity remains but a few fragments, desperate to survive in a cruel world that cares nothing for them In truth though this is an amazing and well crafted song that definitely fits the universe Aeterno wants to convey
This one is a full opposite to uplifting and hopeful 'Find me' that I almost cried because of protagonist's failure in his quest. I am amazed that songs can tell such an emotional story.
Blind Guardian is quite fun geeky music, they made their amazing song “Sacred” for a video game. Karliene collaborates with Miracle of Sound, recommend her too. Two steps from hell is awesome too!
I'm not sure if I find the ending to this story sad and depressing for the ending age of this world, or happy and beautiful for those lovers to be together in safety In any case this song is beautiful and breathtaking and I clearly by far haven't heard it often enough
Yeah, it sure sounds great to live with the fact that you technically killed all of life for selfish motives. Im sure Aeterno is having a great time. Seriously though how can you not see this as depressing.
Truly, a song written from beyond the apocalypse, and gifted us now. Not a Eulogy, but... perhaps a Lament, from the end of time. Fantastic work Aviators.
This is my favorite one, I think. I could've got here sooner, but I was too busy playing Bloodborne and youtube never gave me a notification. Your music is one of the only things I consistently listen to. Every other artist I listen to is only just a few songs of theirs, but with you, Malukah, and Miracle of Sound, I like _all_ your music.
I've been listening to the album since it was released on spotify, which just so happened to be the day I left for vacation. Made the 12-hour roadtrip much better.
I knew you since you made music for a little pony show. the amount you've grown and improved is just utterly amazing, and while I didn't particularly like your earlier work, you have become one of my favourite Composers and Artists since then. I'm looking forward to anything you put out now, and have no doubt that you'll go far. Keep up the Amazing Work.
As much as I like this song, I love the scene in the background more. Something about it is so captivating to me, and it makes me want to be in that exact spot, looking out over the city on a foggy, wind-driven night listening to this song.
I went to UA-cam thinking, "I need some music to listen to." Turns out Aviators just posted new music 7 minutes ago, so it seems you were basically reading my mind!
If I had to guess, it's the far northern coast of Russia or one of the nordic countries, probably Russia by the vaguely glimpsed echoes of soviet architecture. Only cities beyond the arctic circle have periods that long without even a glimpse of day, and I've been to mid alaska, and the cities just didn't have the buildings like that from what I remember. It's astounding to think that so much of the world can go for 3+ months without a glimpse of the sun. Horrifying and amazing in equal measure. Truly, people that live in such places are forged of iron. Darkness does things to the mind.
Gotta admit, this one took me by a massive surprise during the premiere. Definitely one of the best on this EP, and perfect for letting everyone burn xDDD No More Heroes cos the last one quit.
I have only just found this song. And I may have only been listening since August of 2022. But this is definitely, my favorite music creator. I cant really explain it, but each song fuels my daydreams, and each has a different consistency of emotions, themes, and storylines. None of which would be possible without this music. This song, is currently helping me deal with the breakup with my, love, of 3 years. Oddly, the main point of the song, helps me deal with the fact, that right now. It feels like I have no one to have such an emotional connection too... to? to, abandon the hope of humanity to have a chance again. This song. It makes me feel like Im the void, floating. And I can visualize all the things I did wrong. What I should have done. What I failed to do. But it helps. It lessons the pain, making it slowly possible to keep moving on. This song. Is beautiful. Like what I failed to keep. And I love it. Thank you, for having made it.
As long as i have freedom to take away my own life, i'll live. I have listened to this song so many times now... perhaps i've found a true reflection of myself, the knowldege that even if the universe around me will burn one day i'll still live, because i will choose so.
Hi, I've been listening to you and after the song the bells I somehow did not cling. With this song ,I first did not like, and then listening further, I could not hold back the tears from this beautiful song. It's magical, it's creepy. The end of the song just to cry. Well, I'm a day late, but I still wanna say something. I think this song has the best atmosphere of all of Rewind. I just love how everything plays together in this song. I can wait to see what Halloween stuff you have planned, though. Sorry I didn't say a lot on this one, but I just can't think of much right now. As always, I hope everyone who reads this has a great day!
I'm always looking forward to you releasing a new song! I'm so in love with the storytelling bits you put inside your songs. Please never stop making these types of songs, they are truly amazing!
The lyrics seem to imply that they will still get destroyed with the rest of time, just much later. Knowing that, I don't think I'd have made their choice.
I don’t know enough about music theory to name what it is, but something about the way their voice inflection at “well watch the hour glass” hits so different for basically everything else I’ve heard
This reminds me of an episode of doctor who (the final one of the fifth season), where the doctor must reset time to avoid the non-existence of the universe, ("the silence falls" remind me of the phrase of the villain, what a coincidence, "the silence will fall") I imagine the doctor escaping away with river song or amy hearing this

So when the world goes dark, when the lights start going out, when the winter comes, can we find each other again? Can we build it back from the ground up? Can we escape? Or is it too late? So long as we have each other, we'll find somewhere to grow old, while the dust settles and the sand piles, even though the bell no longer tolls.
