No particular reason, just wanted to change it up a bit from my last Balisong build. Plus it’s an easy bevel to grind.

Ditch the hoodie in the shop. Just takes one wrong move for a tool to grab a string or long sleeve and you end up with a very bad day.
I removed the strings from this hoodie and I’m not super worried about the long sleeves.

lynoj777 that is the tempering process. After the blade is hardened it is very brittle. Keeping it at 400 F for around 2 hours softens the blade enough that it keeps its toughness.

I grew up with a balisong most of the time with me in the Philippines from childhood to adulthood and balisongs over there are mostly home and handmade that’s why I can really relate to what you’re doing.
This was my first diy on balisong. I will see if my file skills can produce something nice. Does anyone know a free CAD ?
