Accidentally made a katana
Well in that case I think you’re better off anyway lol
corvo attano's fuckin foldable katana:
That is professionally done, fantastic work!
+Sharp Works thanks! That means a lot
We need more comment like this
It looks quite heavy. Just one thing I would do, I would skeletonize it. Make it lighter.
Geesh I’m working on a version 2 which will have aluminum handles instead of solid steel
@@zombiejoe13
Maybe you could do something like the squid industries balisong
Has to be the best feeling! Hours of work and you can enjoy what you made
High quality, home-made. Awesome!
Wow!
It's so beautiful, I like it!
Man,you make beautiful Bali...well done,great job ! ! !
Knife making is fun and rewarding. I've made two Viking Broke back seax knives and modified a hatchet blade into a bearded version. I am happy with how they turned out. Your work look great 👍, keep it up.
This is one of the nicest homade ones I've seen on UA-cam good work man
thanks so much! yea most of the ones I have seen either look kinda sloppy or are made using a kit or premade handles
Zombie Joe Knives yeah it looks amazing if you dont mind you should check out my channel
Damn you made an impressive bali. I suggest that if you try to do one next time you do tanto with zen pins. Really good job
Wow that knife you made looks so cool and patient nice job
Beautiful work! Looks perfect 👏
Incredibly fine work! This knife is definitely one hefty beast, but some people like the feel of a big balisong. Very smart to normalize the steel of the files first to make machining faster and easier on your tools, then quench and temper afterward. A lot of people that use hardened tools for material just grind it as-is and don't do any heat treatment which gives no control of the steel hardness or toughness in the end product, and it will burn through drill and mill bits and belts/disks. Awesome job!
I have watched this 10+ time before NEVER gets old please make another you are talent we thanks
Well you’re in luck because I already have another butterfly knife video on my channel 👍🏻
What a beautiful knife... very well done.
Man that’s awesome. And one of the nicest looking iv ever seen.
War pig Hammer thanks that means a lot 👍🏻👍🏻
Favorite Part Toast the knifes so they are nice a crispy.
Simply awesome.
i loved it , great job
Nice. Good work. I've only ever attempted bushcraft knives. Great job.
+Hunters Moon bushcraft knives are a great place to start, that’s what I started with too
awesome job!
Nice piece you made there.
Awesome! Make more, you have skills bro,and they seem to flip well...
+jojo lopez thanks!
Hell yeah brotha!
Awesome work!
Thanks 👍🏻
Hey awesome job that's one amazing balisong
+shocks vlogs thanks!
Zombie Joe Knives I've seen that knife online before what's it called if you don't mind me asking
This style of knife is called a “balisong” or “butterfly knife”.
Zombie Joe Knives no I mean like the name for it cause I saw a knife just like it and I want it but I don't know the name for it I think it was the green flipper or something like that
Thats f--king beautiful
nice file work
Freaking amazing.
Sooo good man!+
save up for a small cnc or mill u got a careerin custom balisongs, thats amazing work for the tools u used.
I like the homemade belt sander...Very good
good job i love it
That are some thick handles😄
I love the blade tho😉
Nice build now to make that fidget spinner scary sharp
Awesome job man. I'm definately going to use your templates. I think I'm going to slim it down a little and drill holes in the handles to reduce the weight. And maybe leave some of the file texture on the outside of the handles for grip and because I like that look. Thanks a lot I'm inspired
KVN Joa sweet, the link to my website where I have the templates is in the description. Let me know if you have any issues
Love it good job
Hey if you ever could check out my videos
Looks nice. From a flipping perspective I'm sure its rather heavy but the build quality is very respectable.
fnargler thanks 👍🏻 I’m glad you like it
I'm a huge Balisong enthusiast so usually when something about it pops up on my sidebar, I watch it. This process is cool and the finished knife looks nice. Do you ever do commissions?
fnargler not at the moment but I do have plans for a lighter version 2 of this balisong which I may consider selling, also if you’re into fixed blades I have a neck knife currently for sale
Nice.I'll wait for the template.
those are some THICC handles
That must be one ROBUST butterfly knife. Boom.
Gerald Spratley glad you like it! It’s quite tough 💪🏻💪🏻
Well done 👍
Thanks!
Why does this video have less views than others, this video is even more beautyful
Because I post less often than other UA-camrs so UA-cam doesn’t recommend my video to as many people. It’s all about the algorithm. I’m glad you were able to enjoy my video. 👍🏻
Really the only thing that seemed slightly off were the pins. Most people hammer those in (on a super hard surface) so they will dent on the bottom and top to keep the pieces in place without ever falling out the hole and then cut them later if need be. No need to glue stuff that way. But regardless, the bali looks cool. Have to check out your v2 now!
I’ve never been a fan of peened pins, I usually do press fit pins epoxied and ground flush on all of my knives.
Very nice
Very cool
Damn that's a nice knife
+Scott Brightbill thanks!
Would you ever consider making your template public? And what did you use for screws and pivots? Absolutely beautiful knife man!
+Iron Wolf I ordered custom screws and tang pins online. I’m not sure what I want to do with the drawings yet if I would sell them to people for a few bucks or just release it for free
That looks better then a lot of knoves
DINGO 113 thank you! 👍🏻
make one with zen pins
+Emerald Enchilada I chose to use tang pins because they were cheaper than zen pins and easier to install
late comment but zen pins are easy if you know what your doing just use hidden tang pins instead of the regular ones
no latch?
If you check out the teaser on my channel I have a version 2 planned which will be lighter and will include a latch
Nice work bro. Hope you got a better grinder by now though haha.
And oven etc. And preferably moved onto using awesome high performance high alloy martensitic stainless blade steels and fittings instead ? Yeah I'm kinda biased against Rusty ass carbon steels haha.
Great work though bro. Nice to see you freehand grinding the bevels too. Even in that little Sander. That takes skill.
Cool !!!
:)
Impressive
Beautiful
+Sniperz Combozz thanks!
zombiejoe13 :3 it is sure is super nice looking knife
That is bad ass
I want the blueprints for that belt grinder, lol.
Man just a quick tip, a dewalt center punch is like $5.99 at Lowe’s and works better then a nail. Love the video and nice knife.
P226nut it actually was an automatic center punch that broke so now I just hammer it
How’d you make the wood for the handles I got a butterfly knife like that but when I got in the mail it was missing a peace’s on one part of the handles, also what. Outdoor I do to stop my knife from commingling apart the pins are all welded or some thing, I just paid to much for this knife and I don’t want it to brake.
It’s actually not wood it’s a material called micarta, I have a video on how I made it on my channel if you wanna check it out 👍🏻
What did you do with the handle for a beautiful design like that? Btw, great video. I love watching your vids. Liked + subscribed
Bat Master I used micarta inlays for the handle. Glad you enjoyed my video
That’s incredible! Do you have those templates posted somewhere? I’d love to attempt making one but I do not have access to auto cad or anything of the sorts.
I haven’t yet decided if I want to sell my templates or just post them for free to download but I’ll make an announcement if I post them somewhere
Great workmanship the knife turned out beautiful. Just curious if you preferred not to make a lock catch
+Indiana Jones glad you like the video, Normal latches can get in the way and if I wanted to make a spring latch I would have had to buy a few more parts, which I didn’t want to do. Maybe if I do another one of these I will try to make a design with a latch
Zombie Joe Knives .. Normal latches don't really come in a way.. Try it..
I have plans to make another butterfly knife using more machinery in the near future that will have a latch so stay subscribed for that video soon👍🏻
Thanks for d reply.. Subscribed already.. WL b waiting ..
Freehand on what looked like a diy belt grinder and parts used easily acquired
👍 would give two but . And zombie 🧟♂️ joe knives yes sub I think. Keep killing it 🤘
awesome! any tips on where to get the hardware? its the only thing im struggling with for this build
You just need to look around online. It can be kind of expensive. I used pivots with bushings.
good job on making the balisong it looks really nice but i was wondering that green material you were using between the front handles ?
+Thomas Borcz it’s micarta, I have a video on my channel of me making the micarta if you want to check it out
ok thank you
Well-done.
+Abdelkader Ben Rhouma thanks!
i really love this balisong. great work. im incredibly curious about its overall weight though? any chance you could let me know?
Around 11.5oz, if you liked this one you should check out the version 2 I did which is much lighter
Is that a 29cm or 24cm bali? Looks cool though I want one.
One of the prideful weapons of the Philippines 😀
I have a balisong that runs on bushings, pivots and the bushings are loose because the pivot holes are little to big .So I wanna fit bigger bushings in the pivot holes .So my question is how to I open up pivot holes up to accept the bigger bushings?? What tools do i need?
rikki863 well you could try wrapping sandpaper around a file and widening the holes that way by hand
congrats for getting me jealous😂😂😂😂
nice
Very nice! Is it absolutely necessary to put it in that oven-thing, because i don't have such.
The oven thing was just a toaster oven. A normal oven at 400 Fahrenheit for 2 hours would also work for tempering.
Cool
That thing is ginormous
Once again, really cool knife, making my own right now. i am considering buying that green stuff that you put on your knife to make it look nicer. What is it called?
The green material I used is called micarta. I made it myself but you can also buy it online. If you want to check out the video on how I made the micarta, that video is also on my channel. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Super
hey what source do you use for the hinge bolts
I got mine off alpha knife supply, make sure you know what sizes you need because they are pretty expensive
That was fast lol but please make another I am making one from file s and I need to know how to work the steel and what drill bit do you use? I NEED DETAILS LOLTHANKS
You can ask more questions in my discord. Invite link is in my more recent videos 👍🏻👍🏻
How easy would a balisong be to make for a complete novice? Have a cheap Chinese trainer I can copy the locations for the pivots, what hardware do you use to screw them together?
MrJmak223 if you are new to knifemaking I would recommend starting with an easier knife because balisongs are pretty difficult to make but if you are really looking for a challenge I would say to go for it
Yes version 2 I have seen as many as the first I know you have life and are busy but if you do make another I would appreciate it and please tell me about how you softens the steel and heat treat . You know if you don't let it get hot that it has a good heat treat right ? Thanks
I prefer to do the heat treat myself with my forge, with simple carbon steels you just need to heat them up to their non magnetic temperature and quench in oil.
Ok thank you have a good evening I will think on that
What kind of bolts did you use to attach the handles to the blade?
I had to custom order them online, I think they were 3/16” pivot screws with a 1/4” bushing
@@zombiejoe13 thanks
Nice video
Matthew Nuzzi thanks 👍🏻
The 3D printed one looks like a microtech tachyon 3 a little bit
Nice fuckin knife bro!!! Good shit!!
if i saw this i won't think it was made by some dude on the internet
Can you link a template for the 3D printed knife
beautiful knife! I love the green :)
+Jojo Kelly thanks, glad you like it
What do you use to drill steel?
You just need decent drill bits and you need to make sure that the steel you’re drilling into isn’t hardened.
Cool knife man, how much did it weigh. It looked heavy
locke2517 lol yes it’s pretty heavy, about 11.5 oz
Zombie Joe Knives Holly shit
How long is the blade ?
how did you draw up those templates?
I modeled them in Solidworks
Would you happen to have the STL files for the 3d printed one?
I currently have pdf’s from the drawing files on my website but I don’t have the stl files posted anywhere yet
Aight cool
Ma boi finished Elementary. 4:42
That’s my second grade award for safety. Gotta flex it in case any haters wanna try to call what I do “unsafe”
Will you sell a balisong? Whether you have an old one laying around or one of your own I would like to buy one!!!!!!
Sorry, I’m not currently selling any
Nice knife!
where can you get the template
+Enzo Mestdag I didn’t buy the template I drew it myself, I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the template yet, Im either going to sell the plans or just give them away for free
I want one too
One thing u must do is the handle should be made of aluminum and wood to make it lighter just how in philippines(origin country)
David Joji I have a newer build where I used aluminum for the handles if you want to check it out
Zombie Joe Knives u should try another type of blade like the ramboo
Is that a homemade 2x72 with longboard wheels?
Yup 👍🏻
