    One thing to mention... I have made the mistake of using a drill to put bolt holes in the carpet. In this case, loop carpet (not cut pile). The yarn and backing of the carpet often wraps around the drill bit, and before you know it, the carpet yarn is pulling out unraveling like a sweater in the old cartoons. Beware. This is a great way to f*ck-up brand new carpet. Instead, I find the hole and use a #11 x-acto blade to cut a cross (+) to pass the bolt thru. This also keeps a drill bit away from the fine threads of the in-floor threaded bolt holes. And you are right... the black carpet really takes that interior to another level. Nice job.

    Good choice on color of carpet. It really makes the grey standout more. One question how good did the adhesive work I'll be replacing the carpet on one of my cars in the near future and want to go this route

    • @GenerationOldschool
      @GenerationOldschool  3 роки тому

      I wouldn’t recommend that adhesive. Try to get another brand that’s actually made for carpets

    • @z6zHcfgQNn
      @z6zHcfgQNn 3 роки тому

      @@GenerationOldschool I think for something as big as the carpet it would be better to use the heavy duty adhesive or take it to a shop so they could finish the job for you.

    Have you tried Por 15 it's a paint and rust prohibitor. You can brush it or roll it with no streaks, it dries like it was sprayed on.

    Don't ever use a drill directly into carpet. You want to solder a small hole in the carpet where you would run a bolt through otherwise you risk the drill thread catching the carpet fabric and messing it all up.

    Hey Man. The floor is in pretty good shape. That is a beautiful car. you are just making it nicer. Like you said, It is a good idea to measure twice and cut ONCE when putting the carpet in. It costs too much to replace it. Thanks for sharing. 🍁👍👍
