Hello, I’ve already done a video cook up of herring, the basic method of rolling in flour and frying. The butterfly and coat in oatmeal sounds good though!
Good on you. A little fresh sea air, movement with the resting up is the right way to go. Handsome boat, interesting to see how years of practice makes the no fuss launch. You’ll be back out there soon enough
Yes, resting and going for a little walk down the beach to get some fresh air seems to be doing the trick. Launching is about the set up. Loads of trailers are designed wrong, and are just simply hard work! Can’t wait to get back out there! It was strange watching the old chap go to sea and still be standing on the beach!
Yeah, he’s fit as a fiddle. He usually bikes 100 miles a week, which is good for someone in their mid 70s! I’m slowly getting there. Hopefully won’t be that long before I can go in the boat myself
It's always good to be out doing what you like. Not a big catch but plenty for tea. Hoping to have some injections in my back so I can get back in my workshop. Having to pay to get it done as there's a 46 week waiting list on the NHS.
That’s a long while to wait, the NHS is far from perfect, but you can’t spend better money than on your health. You shouldn’t have to,but sometimes you have to bite the bullet. I hope the injections make you feel better
Yep, I’m walking a couple of hundred yards to the beach and back every day, get the muscles working and hopefully build a little strength up without pushing myself too much
Glad to see you’re on the mend. Thanks so much for latest uploads, just wondering is it just because most of the herring have spawned and lost weight that they’re not of good quality? Thanks a lot
Cheers. Yes it’s exactly that. The herring spawn at Xmas, losing the roe and their oil content. The oil content is replaced by blood. Herring are full of blood this time of year, which makes them a good bait.
@@beanysfishing2555 Ahh thanks so much, that’s interesting ,appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience, hopefully try for a few myself over the weekend.
Thanks for another interesting video buddy unfortunately not much to show for it but better than stuck in house u seem to be getting about better now mate still hold camera steady if that were me it be wobbling all over people would be sea sick cheers buddy
No, that trip was poor on the fish front. The air pressure shot up really high. I’m going for little walks a couple if times a day, so I’m improving slightly everyday.
Shame about the lack of fish but apart from the frustration, how are you getting on,? I have to go to Papworth 3 times a year usually, a bit of a pain but at least I'm here and they're keeping an eye on me, Take care, best wishes, you'll be fishing soon, Norfolk Ray
I’m all good so far, slowly getting stronger. I’ve got to have another check at Addenbrookes in about a month and a few tests, hopefully that will all go well and look forward to the future
Keep on keeping on! Need to do a cook of some of those sprats or herring. I always liked butterfly fillet herring coated in oatmeal and fried.

Good video great set up with trailer that old fit as greyhound
Yes, the set up makes all the difference, no need to struggle. My old chap still bikes 100 miles a week

Good to see your recovery is going well, and that the old chap is also doing well!

Great video, shame about your disappointing catch but that’s fishing eh, best wishes👍
Yes, it was a huge difference from the day before, but that’s fishing. The air pressure shot up and that put an end to the fishing
Good man Beany out and about

good to hear mate@@beanysfishing2555
How is it that the boat is the other way round on the trailer?
Ah looks like a towing hitch both ends...
It’s a double ended trailer. Launch bow first, pull the boat on the trailer bow first. Best of both worlds.
