Bug, I know you and I have talked a lot about replacing garbage Traxxas engine parts before. For folks that are interested, if you can go with a full OS 21TM from the beginning, it’s the way to go. - Otherwise, after you replace the garbage 3.3 bearings, crank, carb, rod, etc you really only have a shell of a 3.3 left. You end up spending more modifying the 3.3 then, just going with a quality engine in the first place. Just something to think about I’m glad she is running a bit better Bug and thanks for the fun vid 🩷
@a2rc yes u can run the os 21tm in a revo just remember its gonna start pushing the limits on it especially if it's a modded os 21tm like mine on my revo (ercm pipe, novarossi header on 30/10 home Brew fuel, m2c racing 36mm flywheel 3 shoe clutch combo, mip axles, forward only, full RPM package with Tru Track rear conversion... the os 21tm and especially big block engines stress and can even shatter the input/slipper shaft, output shaft, slipper clutch, gearing, and axles).. also OS 21tm do have the tendency to wear a backplate after 2 gallons and best also to get a new starter shaft too and backplate seal (S16 sized nitrile o ring.. pull start needs modsing to clear os 18tz backplate bolts direct swap/upgrade) ... RB Mods you're the best!
@@aaroncavanaugh8241 I hear ya yet, the 3.3 and the 21Tm have almost the same displacement. - OS made a decision to round the displacement value up to a .21 so it’s designated as a Big Block. Traxxas should do the same for the 3.3 (it’s defiantly not a small block, you could call it a Mid-Block if you wanted) The TM still out performs the stock 3.3 and is made with quality components. It’s a no brainer to me, to simply start with something other than a Traxxas engine
@@mr.fridge6710 he will modify your stock crank if you sent it into him. Send a new crank not an old one. Order a set of bearings and a rod an wrist pin at the same time. The crank mods are only 40$ USD. If you have a 2.5 or 2.5R order a 3.3 crank for it or send it in for mods as the 3.3 crank dose much better in the 2.5 even in stock format.
hoping too run nitros again soon weather been so wet this year in the uk that I’ve had too take a break miss the smell and noise already recently snagged a Xray nt18 T to run about close too home
Goes and idles really well with the os11 carb. When I buy a Revo I probably fit os11 before even trying the Traxxas carb. The engine seems to do the job. How's the 3.3 compare to similar engines? Say SH for example.
Most of these engines are made in the same factory and the 3.3 with a better set of bearings flywheel carb fuel and plug run awesome especially if they are broken in properly 💯 and the nice thing is all the parts are available
Revo can pop wheelies running 30% nitro 8-10% oil blend, ercm pipe, good engine and a good tune (14/38 gearing does help too especially with talon 5.75 tires).. mine has all that on a modded os 21tm snd it is MEAN! shes so obnoxious n bratty! Sounds like it needed to clear out to get it shifting bro
@thebug4046 older and first gen revo 3.3 run 15/38 MOD 1 gearing (on Talon 5.75 inch tires) , newer thru current models run 14/38 gearing (on larger 6.2 or 6.3 inch tires.. think they're Hurricane tires or that's the maxx 3.3 🤷♂️)..
They are quite rich from factory let it warm up when you first start it all I had to do was close the high-speed needle about 1/2 turn and adjust the idle gap a little bit that was pretty much it. But my tuning is going to be different than yours since I'm running 30/10 and sea level
@cruddyjayvlogs7911 small block ERCM pipe side/truggy bleed (same as mine for my revo).. custom made out of stainless steel, the best u can get for any nitro engine, very expensive, lengthy waiting list, very unique obnoxiously LOUD sound, and illegal for racing in events that follow ROAR rules.. ERCM is a cool guy also!
@thebug4046 and i know a friend as u know him too that wanted an ercm pipe for his revo and or slayer.. guess either he goes without one or I may sell him my first ercm pipe and keep the other 2 for myself
Man the way that idle just fell right into the sweet spot is love ❤
Absolutely man ed is blown away

For a 200$ engine off JRC a few little upgrades they pull hard! The OS is like 600$ here. Sadly that's why the owner hasn't bought one yet haha
@@thebug4046 Yeah the price difference between the States and Canada is a bit nuts

going to get some o.s carbs for my lrp .32 engines! they are expensive but they tune so well!

Yeah we also need to change the gearing a little bit.
