    Thanks for that review. I just ordered that very machine with full kit from Sigma directly and it was $1811.00. It hurt to buy it at that price but buying a fake 1 oz gold coin for around $2000.00 would hurt more and now I can test EVERYTHING here on out. confidence costs money ... but it's worth it.

    Wow, I can't believe how much the prices of Sigmas have gone up. I bought a PMV Pro bundle with the small and refiner's wands in September 2019 for $1,415, and now the same bundle is $2,349. That was from an authorized dealer.

    I bought the Sigma Metalytics Pro Mini last week. I used it to test all my gold bullion (5gr Engelhard, 50s Perth Mint, 100s Perth Mint and Munze Osterreich and one 250 gram Valcambi I have) all legit! Better be since I bought some of the bullion from APMEX when gold was at $1200-$1250 per t oz some 5 years ago or so. Wish I've bought more back then. But that was a lot of money for me back then and who knew?

    Okay, that mini is a convenient size, but I paid that amount for the full size Sigma Pro with two wands! I really like that you can test smaller slabbed coins in the mini, the slabs don’t fit under the sensor for small gold on the full size unit.

    I enjoy your videos. As.a viewer i can tell you put alot of hard work into your videos. I also find it funny how many other youtubes copy your content a few days after you post yours. I just watch different UA-cam silver video about this tester. And had to come back and watch yours because I felt he did horrible job explaining these testers. I stopped half way through his to re watch yours. He didn't do any calibrations. He tested .999 silver and it was showing up in the yellow and he said all .999 would show up I n yellow. I went back and watched yours and one ozt buffalo and kilo in this video both where .999 and it read it properly. So thank you for putting out great content. Dear Silver Seeker.... I'd be curious if you could do an episode asking coin shops what price they buy back libertads (BU) compared to Eagles. It would even be better if you could ask the primary dealers such as Apmex, JMBullion, Hero Bullion, Provident Metals and Kitco.
    I'm curious to know if the bullion dealers would pay a higher price for the Libertads vs the Eagles.
    If you already know the answer I'd be interested in knowing it.

    I wished that you tested more 90% junk on the Mini Pro, mainly Mercury Dimes, not Roosevelt Dimes (so far all good). I get readings in the red and occasionally off the right red scale. When I talked to coin shops, they do not think its accurate reading (we dont in front of them and my coins) and said that they will buy them from me wholesale!. They said they do not check and of their 90% dimes as it not worth it.

    • @SilverSeeker
      @SilverSeeker  2 роки тому +1

      The Kilo? No the size was fine... when you adjust the width it shrinks the length of the template. There's no way for the machine to know the exact shape, so if it was a square for example as I increase the width the height would shrink into a square.

      @@chadbrookman6263 That's what the green bar is for... line to line would be perfect but so long as it's in the green on one side while touching the line on the other then it's good.
      You're right though in thinking that it's not going to be accurate enough to determine the difference between .999 and say .990 but generally that's not an issue. Most fake are way less pure and/or plated or filled etc.

    9:39 "We don't even need the PMV pro to know these are fake". This sort of underscores my sentiment on these pricey testing machines. While useful and maybe reassuring to those who may want the extra peace of mind, they're fine. But they're truly not necessary. I had a SIgma on loan for several days and put it up against my Pocket Pinger/Stack Stick, Free Metal Tester APP on my iPhone, and personal observation and experience and I was able to equally identify real and fakes as well as the Sigma PMV without spending a grand or more. And who wouldn't rather have an extra grand or more to buy coins instead of a testing machine??? Don't get me wrong, if this gives anyone extra peace of mind, or you like to have all that extra data on the coin (thickness, etc..) have at it...

    • @SilverSeeker

      For 1oz rnds and coins I agree 100%. Where the PMV Pro really shines for me is things like bigger bars etc. The fact that the pro reads all the way through the Silver is a big deal, and I've shown in other videos that the read through feature does in fact work.
