      Throwing the line in such a way inside water you are jot able to see if it comes out in the right and same direction so you.maybe have spins in your line

  • @kortgreen7725
    @kortgreen7725 3 роки тому +14

    I always spool my spinning reel by putting the spool on the floor after soaking it in water for a few minutes and put it down on the floor so that it comes off the spool in the same direction that the spinning reel is turning. Look at the face of your reel as it turns and notice the direction. If it spins clockwise you want the line coming off the spool counter clockwise. And vice versa. Orienting the spool wrong twists up your line. Learnt that from Bill Dance years ago and it ain't NEVER fail me yet! If you do get line twist while fishing, just reel your bait up to the rod tip an inch or 2 from the end and invert your rod allowing the bait to hang free and it will untwist itself! Thanks Bill! Works EVER TIME!

    Bro i watch all the crappie videos on youtube and you and Richard Gene are by far the best. Anyone can make fishing videos but the two of you are the most informative, relatable, and genuine. I can tell you really want everyone to be successful and love fishing. Pro tip. The more videos 4-6 min long the more subscribers you will get.

    Hi, Brandon! I wound my spinning reel with monofilament line, and it was only AFTER I wound the entire reel that I discovered that the line was on the reel incorrectly... it was spinning off the reel every time I tried a cast. I thought I would have to unwind the entire reel and start over with a new spool, but I ran across your video! My reel was already spooled, but I thought why not try pouring water over the spooled line on the reel? I poured a full cup of warm water over the spooled line, waited a minute or so, and then tried a few long casts. I was very gratified to see the line come off the reel without twisting. So, your solution using water will work on fishing line that is not spooled or that is spooled already! A low bow in your direction, sir... I wish you many tight lines!!

    Nothing wrong with what your doing. I've found it best to use braid with flouro or mono leader. If I use straight mono, I like to remove the full spool off the reel and soak for few minutes in warm water to create the spool memory. Tight lines!

    *Bought a 500 for an ultralight rod. It's very smooth **enjoyable.fishing** recommend casts great. One odd thing- the bale wire is a bit heavy diameter in my opinion for a reel of this size. But a great purchase.*

    Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.

    Yep it works fir me. If I may add Sir. If you have a reel spooled up now and has line twists do this. While your on the body of water in your boat. Remove the jig or whatever you may have tied on. Free spool enough line overboard to the side of your boat as your moving along slowly. Once there is enough line free spooled out to allow the line to free spool off on its own, move up your speed some and let your line free spool off as your moving. Once it is off enough to suit you, let it run few seconds, then flip your bell or whatever and start reeling the line back onto the reel as your still moving along. That works as well to remove twist.Hope that helps someone to.

    Just tried this trick using a pale of water, and the spool largely stayed in one place without flipping. I ended up with highly twisted line that wrapped around the pole when left free. 😳
    I ended up pulling the line off across the yard and letting it unwind as I reeled it back onto the reel. It's now very flat with no twist. No idea what I did wrong.

    What’s the benefit of using the backing line? I believe that’s what you called it. The line that was left on the reel

    • @BrandonLesterFishing
      @BrandonLesterFishing  2 місяці тому

      @@Drunkrobbb it just speeds up the process. No need to take all the line off the reel because you are never going to use the bottom half of it. Plus your spool of line will last a lot longer if you tie to the backing and only fill what’s needed of the spool on the reel.
