I recommend being cautious when providing SEO advice to MSPs. Some of your suggestions may work in less competitive markets but will have little to no effect in highly competitive environments. Additionally, suggesting that it is "super easy to rank" is dishonest. Given your example of Charlotte IT services, ranking in that market would be fairly expensive, time consuming, and there would be no content you could write that would rank for primary service keywords by itself. It's important the viewer understand that content alone doesn't rank; it requires a comprehensive strategy that is not covered in this material and could waste viewers time and money if they follow this blindly.

I agree, but doing something is always better than doing nothing. I know SEO to a pretty extensive degree. My goal is to simply get people going in the right direction, making content and understanding the differences. I hope that people who watch all of my videos do more in-depth research and try these techniques on their own to see the results. My goal is to raise awareness, and if they choose to go down the SEO road, there's a lot to learn. I would also state that ranking, especially locally, is not all that difficult for most MSPs since 99% of the competition isn't creating anything.
I would also hope that most people will know if it's competitive in their area. That, in my opinion, is business/company/brand awareness and knowing who your competitors are.

@@growthgenerators Content doesn't rank. The reason people think it does is because they accidentally trigger a non-competitive SERP. This will lead to a slight increase in traffic as you make a few (positive) mistakes over the years, but anyone who knows SEO will tell you that traffic is not a success metric. Ranking for the business specific SERPs in your industry is.
The best advice I can give anyone who reads down into the comments is that if you come across an SEO company pitching you with promises of traffic gains or “special sauce”, you should run for the hills. These are the same type of people who sell extended warranties or contact your customers direct after a deal registration.
