It’s so lovely to see how Harvey has grown in confidence on camera and how he is able to share his love of trees and the great outdoors. A lovely family video x
Thank you Athena, Harvey, Aífe and Oslo, thank you very much. There is so much beauty in this world, so many beautiful people and love. I needed this to remind my heart that there is always hope.💙💛
Thank you! Your comments are always so kind and thoughtful. its people like you that keep us going and make it all worth it to know we can't bring some light to people in such dark times.
Been saving this video for a “cheer up” moment. My fiancé has Covid and I’m recovering from surgery so it’s been the perfect balm. Aife is such a wee poppet and thank you for being so honest about the highs and lows and that she wasn’t “planned”. You and Harvey seem to have taken to parenthood like ducks to water. Natures timing is always perfect 💛
Watched all your videos and so obvious how gentleman Harvey is . . He is such a great dad too! So so touching how he cares about Aife , carrying her most of the time . And he cares about Oslo too!
Your videos are so stunning. I say this everytime now, but they truly are. You catch the light and nature so beautifully. I love how your edit is peaceful, hopeful, instructive and so motivating. Sharing your lifestyle has such a positive impact on how I (and I'm sure many other) can picture the future. I've been watching your channel for two years now, and I just bought a second-hand matress and tent so I can start bigger outdoor adventures this summer 😃 Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful corner of the internet ♥️ P.s : I also love that Harvey and you are both narrating the story and sharing parts in the video, it's lovely ! Have a great weekend xx
Dear Athena 👋 I adore your video's. I always feel at peace while watching them and I also love that you find beauty in the little things 😊 bless you and your whole family 🙏
Just watching Harvey walking through the pines on the path leaves a peaceful feeling inside me. A picture perfect Kodak moment. So good to see you Athena, Harvey, Aife, & Oslo. Seeing the Lily of the Valley reminds me that Spring is just around the corner. Aife so wide eyed & growing longer each time she stretches those legs. I like your Bothy it's warm, cozy, invites you in just looking at it. I love seeing your scenery there. Its funny, but I also loved seeing Oslos ears flopping around in the wind. A warm family moment on the couch watching TV. Some days you just need to stop & have a break. Have a good week. Looking forward to your next video.
Athena, having followed your earlier videos, which were excellent, you had Oslo as a great sidekick. Now Harvey is contributing so much and to add Aoife to the mix and the appeal is off the scale. Stay safe.
Thank you for the beautiful video and the moment of calm and restoration that it brought! (Especially at the moment!) I'm currently living abroad and this helps bring a bit of home to me... I yearn for the cosiness of British weather and the beauty of the landscapes! Your videos are uniquely "real" - they never feel sugar coated or elaborated...they always celebrate the small beautiful things around us and in nature and show a real family, so thank you! Best wishes to you all x x
It’s 8:15 PM now in middle Tennessee. I saw you post the video at noon my time today, while at work. I waited for the end of my day to watch. Glad I did, a stressful day is ending as a peaceful night. I needed this, thank you! The scenery is beautiful, Little Eifa is vocalizing now…
Beautiful video! But I really want to know how you deal with those moments when your baby does a number two halfway through a walk. A vid on the practicalities of hiking and travelling with a baby would be great. You make it look so easy 😄
Hi Suzie, We carry everything that we need with us, including a changing matt for Aífe to lie on and spare clothes incase there's a leak. we pack everything out with us too and have a dry bag for all the dirty stuff. Its harder in the bad weather, we carry an emergency 2 man shelter with us if we have to just hunker down in an exposed area and its raining for instance but so far we haven't got caught out and there's always been somewhere for us to shelter, be it a bothy, cave or little stone shelter. hope that helps.
So nice seeing you in the Cairngorms, and driving past my home! Such a great video showing the highlights of this area and the beauty of the growing environment. Thank you for this beautiful and informative video ❤
Excellent video , I'm a new subscriber , so good your learning baby about the outdoors , what a life shes going to have Brilliant , keep up the good work 😊, my wife watches you all the time , she's just saying , baby will need two bottles , it's all that fresh air 🤗😂😂🤣👍
Glad to see you enjoyed your visit to my hometown, it's such a great area for everyone who loves the outdoors, the trails & adventures around here are endless ❤
I love the nature shots and thanks for raising the awareness of the Scottish nature, I wanna go to Scotland some day too! Aife is beautiful, you can already see she is a strong. Thanks for sharing this video! Have a good week.
Hi guys. Yeah Landseer's chimney is all that's left of his property where he once hosted Queen Victoria. I stayed in the bothy on the 2nd night of a walk from Blair Atholl via Glen Tilt & Glen Geldie & through Feshie to Kingussie in 2014. Fab video x
Loved this video as we love the Cairngorms! Last time we went to Loch Garten specifically to see the Osprey and missed them by two days! Keep these great videos coming!
Enjoyed this! Get up there in warmer months and see the ospreys at Boat of Garten. My, Aife won't be a nipper for much longer, she's growing, the little woozle. Love to you all, and Oslo! 💕🐕🐾😊
As a parent of three who are now feed in g themselves remember this. From 1-3 kids sleep, scream, eat and evacuate. It’s all a process Nice birch group at the car parkp
Hi Athena great to see you and new baby and family doing well please give Oslo a big hug and stroke from me take care all of you ...best wishes...Stewart
Aife is so beautiful. I keep wanting to Americanize the spelling of her name. I don’t have that key to correctly type her name. Such a pretty name. Always enjoy the videos and Harvey’s story telling. You are such a positive mom and Harvey too as a dad.
A lovely walk this was our girls first bothy when we visited a woman was celebrating her birthday so we got cake , was a great experience ,Great memories,l’m a new subscriber I’ve been watching all the videos on the Scottish islands ,Nice to reminisce , My daughters name is Iona she loved visiting “ her island “ 💕 😂 great video. X
Many thanks really enjoyed that. What make is Oslo’s coat looks nice and snug, and can you tell me what walking map app you are using?? Look forward to the next video…
Another fabulous video from the Cairngorms! And I get the feeling that Oslo was living his best life up there!! Did your feet get very wet, Athena, or does your footwear keep them dry?
That depends on quite a few factors. We would generally stay off high exposed tops if the wind is above 20 mph. if we can hike up and be in the lee of the wind from a peak ie, wind coming from the north and you walk on the south side of a peak, then we could get pretty high but you would want to assess the situation as you go and not get caught out. to put it into context I once walked up the walker track on snowdon in the middle of a gale but was completely sheltered until I got up near to the top. then the wind was finally hitting us and it was time to turn round. hope that helps.
Hi Emma we both us the OS maps app, it costs £25 a year and we both find it really useful on long and short trips. If we go in a longer walk we take a normal map with us too.
We usually do but we didn’t on this route as we forgot the Cairngorms map and the route was really straightforward! I would definitely recommend carrying one though 😊

If you look deeper into electric cars you'll notice they are worse for the environment than traditional cars....Look into the manufacturing of the batteries and the disposal of those...Hydrogen would be a good solution...
I totally agree, I think one of the main questions I ask myself is what is the real cost? nothing is simple maybe technology will get better and batteries "cleaner", it definitely was interesting to get to drive a hybrid and see what difference it made to the journey. We generally reduced our emissions by a third on most drives but again weigh that against the impact of the components of that vehicle, and well I'm not clear on the what's best. thanks for your comment!

Lovely new intro.
When its a windy day (every single weekend currently) how high do you go when walking?
That depends on quite a few factors. We would generally stay off high exposed tops if the wind is above 20 mph. if we can hike up and be in the lee of the wind from a peak ie, wind coming from the north and you walk on the south side of a peak, then we could get pretty high but you would want to assess the situation as you go and not get caught out. to put it into context I once walked up the walker track on snowdon in the middle of a gale but was completely sheltered until I got up near to the top. then the wind was finally hitting us and it was time to turn round. hope that helps.
Would you mind sharing which online app you're using for navigation - thank you :)
Hi Emma we both us the OS maps app, it costs £25 a year and we both find it really useful on long and short trips. If we go in a longer walk we take a normal map with us too.
@@harvey123go4 Thank you :)
Which map app are you using?
We use the OS maps app, its £25 a year but really useful and covers the whole of the uk.
Do you carry a physical map with you just in case you have issues with your phone? Your little girl is a cutie.
We usually do but we didn’t on this route as we forgot the Cairngorms map and the route was really straightforward! I would definitely recommend carrying one though 😊
