    Nice, easy presentation. I was wondering about that harness.
    Request: I wonder, if at some point, you can edit together a step-by-step breakdown and rebuild complete video, in order of the process with the "chapter" links? I know you you have the videos and it will take some editing, but would be nice to have the whole process in order, start to finish, instead of having to scroll endlessly or fail at a search?
    (I know, you're already doing this as a helpful service for us lunks, but we want even more handholding! 😜😆)
    You are appreciated (wife too)!

      I haven’t explored the chapter stuff, but yes I would love to offer some videos like that. We have the full length JC video from last fall that’s 90 minutes long and has been gaining lots of views showing that folks like the full length in depth stuff. So expect more of that in the future…hopefully with chapters!

    How do you wire an ignition switch with 6 wires into the harness. Love your stuff man.

    • @tomspontoons
      @tomspontoons  Рік тому

      This harness is solely for electrical accessories not connected/related to the engine. Engines have their own separate ignition harness which often includes the key switch (or just plug and plays with a key switch). That harness would plug into the motor under the hood and then run up to the console to be plugged into the keyswitch, safety lanyard, neutral safety wires, gauges, etc.

    Thanks again. Mine just arrived today. My question is I don’t have a pump do you think I can hook up any accessory there, like my wife’s fish finder?

    • @tomspontoons
      @tomspontoons  Рік тому +1

      Absolutely. I just used the livewell pump wire to power underseat LEDs on a boat. It’s really just a stern accessory wire…use it for whatever you’d like as long as the accessory can handle that 5-10amp breaker. Your fish finder should have its own low voltage fuse inline tho!! Best of luck with your project!

    Please pardon my ignorance, but I didn’t hear you mention the fuse box. Does this eliminate the fuse box if I match it up with a new 7 switch panel?

    • @tomspontoons
      @tomspontoons  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes! You can omit a fuse box or panel if using Pontoon Stuff’s corresponding switch panels. Their panels have built in resettable breakers, just like most of the newer pontoon boats from the big name brands. You may still need to add a negative/ground buss bar, but could piggy back into the switches for grounds as well.

    Hi tom , i got a larson 2000 boat, the cables all wiring was stollen, do you mean the harness is the same for all boats? thank you

    • @tomspontoons
      @tomspontoons  11 місяців тому

      This harness could be used on any type of boat, but it's ONLY for the electrical accessories like your lighting, bilge pump, horn, etc. It does not tie into your motor components. That's all separate for each motor/boat combo.

    I have a 22' Sun Tracker Party barge. I am installing a detachable trolling motor to the bow of the boat. I have to install a plug near the bow, probably by the seat. To make it clean, is there a way to remove the seats or the railing so I can run my wire on top of the toons or can I just run it through the seats to make it easier? Thank you so much

    • @tomspontoons
      @tomspontoons  6 місяців тому

      You should be able to run the wire right along the top of the pontoon unless you have under skinning blocking access. I’ve run it with a battery under a front seat and the wiring running to a plug in the seat, railing, or in a little aluminum box mounted to the front of the boat.

    Another informative video. One question, how did the brown wire “find a ground”? What do you mean when it finds a ground at the back of the boat?

    • @tomspontoons
      @tomspontoons  Рік тому +1

      I should have explained that in more detail...I mention it towards the end briefly. The main ground that runs to the battery has a split that gives that brown and orange wire a ground. They're taped together (brown with the ground) towards the back to make it easy on you.

    Tom I got my new pontoon harness and it has plug an play plugins on the nav and docking lights ends .where can I purchase the ends for the lights

    • @tomspontoons
      @tomspontoons  9 місяців тому

      I just cut those plug connectors off and use heat shrink butt splices. Sometimes their harnesses ship with those connectors and sometimes without, just depends where they sourced them for that run.

    Hey, Tom. Bought the wiring harness. But my harness has plugs on the ends for the nav and dock lights. And they are all gray and black for the ground. Im assuming I just cut those to tie into my lights?

    • @tomspontoons
      @tomspontoons  10 місяців тому +1

      Correct, cut those plugs off and wire into your lights. The all black is the ground. The gray with green is for navigation lights, and the gray with black stripe is for docking lights.
