Fantastic interview! Eliot’s journey from MongoDB to Viam shows how innovation can make hardware more accessible for developers. Thanks for spotlighting him and our mission! ✨
It means so much to me! It’s what I’m passionate about! Let me know if there is any other tech leaders you want me to sit down and have a conversation with
Ok!, Should be great a conversation between you and Brendan Eich 😉. I think to talk about JavaScript, security and blockchain will make a delicious plate 😋
I’m still a little confused as to what Viam does. Studied robotics engineering so when you talk about connecting the 2 I’m thinking of platforms like ROS that already use the node structure to connect sensors and software. Is Viam similar to that? Just a lil confused on how it’s making it more accessible.
Its much simpler than setting up a ROS install. Setting up ROS and its nodes is a huge task by itself. Viam is much more streamlined for a lot of tasks.
The discussion seems to imply that the software and hardware world are separate and so we need their services to connect them together? What am I missing here? Computer engineering and embedded systems have existed for a long time. Computer engineering as a field predates software engineering. And it's continuously evolving, giving rise to recent sub fields like intelligent devices and IoT.
We all have our own journeys!! What are you interested in? Software? Hardware? Both? For me after this conversation I want to start exploring more hardware!
why do you need ai and cloud when most hardware interfaces with software via drivers. software developers just need to learn how to write drivers its not some crazy black box.
yes i live in the physical world. exactly . Amazon builds better more efficient data base, to most people more it doesn't matter. Build an robots and software and app to do heart surgery surgery or create a medicine that help people with MS . A Car battery that allows me to frive 1000miles on a single charge at highway speeds charges in 10 minutes .
19:58 Basically have a real time visual feed of the wine glasses… There are standards on where the “fill line” is on wine glasses so the AI systems just need to learn those “fill lines”… Bonus points… Make the robot swirl the glass of wine to air it out! LOL 😂🍷🤖🦾

Thanks to those geniuses who act as links between both worlds. Tiff, your vision and how you share it is such a treasure!

best channel to discover a lot of things in tech
That made my day! Thank you so much! Let me know if there is any other tech leaders you want me to sit down and have a conversation with
@@TiffInTechI wish if you do an interview with Elon musk or Bill gates hhh
@@marwanassou4016 haha okay deal - no pressure or anything! haha. I will do my best :)
Great interview and very cool tech. Tiff, you are a gifted interviewer and I encourage you to do more interviews like this. Thank you!
Thank you!! That means so much. I really enjoying doing them. Lots more to come!
wow, absolutely amazing technological advancements. He's only 43 years old? makes me questing everything I'm doing with my life.

@@TiffInTech I'm currently going through a bootcamp for full stack development, but I'm also interested in security and hardware!
@@Kveldrunari That is awesome - good for you!!
I'm not sorry for saying this but, I'm cooked compared to this guy. Dunno if his Git is viewable.

What he said in the first 70 seconds is true, hardware is hard for developers that have only done software
Super interesting! 😊
Tiff you're good in interviewing!
Great interview tiff you should do more of these
thank you! That means a lot. More to come!
Wow great interview
thank you!! Hope you have a great weekend!
Great interview 😄
Thank you so much! Wishing you a great Friday! Hope you enjoy this conversation!
Happy Xmas and have a wonderful New year in advance TIFF luv ur videos 😍💖💖
Thanks!! You too! Happy new year :)
17:00 Wine pouring robot demonstration starts here
Nice Interview Tiff 🎉.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
17:16 I won't be alone at Christmas 😍
That is exactly what Clough 42 does in his home machine shop. And shows on his channel, from electronics, precision matching, CAD to coding.
17:28 wow
Nice tiff
Thank you so much! Hope your Friday is off to a good start!
Is Hardware no longer Hard?
Can’t believe that robot trainer will be a job in a few years 🤔
Robotics trainer has been a job for decades. Who do you think train robotic arms at ford?
Para você loira de olhos claros azuis é excelente e perfeita e será infinita ❤❤❤❤uma boa tarde de sexta feira dia 06 de dezembro de 2024 horas 17:24 .
AI will help reduce hardware/electronics engineers to reduce dependency on software engineers. We can now depends on AI to improve the codes
Errr. Maybe get Hardware Engineers to work on hardware?….they do exist.
It needs strong knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical engineering. Viam is similar to ROS , just a software
theres already a bionic bar, its on a cruise ship. ua-cam.com/video/sW5HrdoWMvk/v-deo.html
Good but lost me during that arena “use case”. That sounded really horrible and over cooked.
The problem seems to be a skill issue to me.
There's no shortcut: go pick a STM32 and start reading and coding.

Reinventing IoT- cat feeders… this stuff fails at scale
