This movie surely isn't getting the amount of recognition that it should. While the score was sooooo soulful, it deserved awards or at least nominations for best picture- drama, best actor- drama for Gosling and best director for Chazelle. Moreover, Claire Foy sooooo deserved the golden globe she didn't win tonight. I mean this movie was a masterpiece and easily one of the best of the year. Anyway, this was a well deserved win for Hurwitz at least.
I know, right? His performance was so subtle and beautiful. He deserves recognition, but I feel Hollywood isn't doing justice to him, for he was not recognized for his brilliant works in the movies Lars and the real girl, Half Nelson and La La Land too for that matter. Maybe awards don't matter that much, which I actually very ardently believe, but if he had been nominated and won, nobody would be happier than me, for I am a huge Gosling fan, and not just because of his looks.
Sandali Dev Sinha couldn’t agree more with you, im also a fan, he’s my favorite actor, it’s truly a shame he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves, the same thing happened with Blade Runner 2049...
At least he won last year but a nom wouldn't have hurt but man was denis villenuve snubbed for BR 2049 he did the impossible and then the academy was like lol let's give a second Oscar to our buddy del Toro instead of recognising talent and don't get me started on bohemian rhapsody wining best picture the Oscars are losing credibility and now the golden globes are too
This man has how many awards now ? He's totally deserves it tho whiplash still to this day wanna of my favorite movies and the score is a big part of it
@@TheSponge71 Yeah they are both great but I think Britell easily wins this. He's been more consistent as a composer he even did a great job with Vice and Battle of the sexes. He deserved an oscar for moonlights score but lala land overshadowed everything.
@@Thechewgar I don't disagree with you (except about La La Land) but First Man deserved to win. Justin Hurwitz is only 33 and I think there's a lot more amazing scores he's going to make because he really is a genius. Vice and If Beadle Street Could Talk had amazing scores and so did Isle of Dogs and Black Panther, but to me FIrst Man was the winner.
Hayden B I would disagree with that, the First Man soundtrack has a beautiful yet melancholy feel to it that gives you the reason to sit down and listen to it, while If Beale Street Could Talk also has a beautiful soundtrack, I believe First Man should win nevertheless. Again both scores were so beautifully written, but First Man deserved to win.

The only thing that would make me happier is if Ryan would’ve been nominated and won

Ian exactly, they just recognize movies that won’t get them in trouble with the community’s instead on focusing on real art
The best movie of year for me

I wanted Ludwig Goransson to win but hey, who hates Justin Hurwitz for being appreciated for his amazing work!
Congratulations ..
Bro how was the movie not nominated but fuckingn bohemian rhapsody was? What’s happening?!?!?
Theremin wins
duudeee queasy excited little gremlin
Beale street had the best score tho
Without a doubt, both great scores though.
