I just found yoyr channel recently and I amd enjoying watching the restoration of the buidlings. I love the repurposing of the materials. I admire you and your dads relationship. Reminds me of my dad. I lost him almost 3 years ago to cancer and my sister a year later in a car wreck. I miss them both deeply and cherish all the good times we had. I can see how you cherish your family and I admire that♡ look forward to seeing more videos.
It's so cool that you get to do this with your dad! He's working so hard to help you. I can't wait to see the finished result of your projects! Also, would love to hear more about the history of your town and these buildings. ❤😊
I'm 78 years old and remember me and my dad doing things around my house and fixing things up so I could move in,he knew how to do anything and l learned alot on how to use what we had laying around it was great. Love watching you 2 ❤❤❤❤
I really enjoy watching you go through everything. I love that you take time so many videos are just so fast fast fast. Here’s how it started and here’s the final makeover. Yours is so much more thoughtful and I love that you appreciate all of this fascinating stuff from our past. Keep up the great work. And you have a great dad, who loves you so much.
I love that you're doing this with your dad and using salvage for your place! My favorite video of yours so far!!! I'm having a coffee in your mom's memory right now sweetie!!! Take care and carry on!!!❤🎉😊
The company I had to shut down a few years ago here in Baltimore was window and glass repair. I've done many of glass replacements on windows like these,we called it reglazing. We also did a lot of old wooden window repair. It's not bad to replace the individual panes of glass. Your dad is the best. Great job with the extraction. Keep up the great work
Emma: "I hope nobody takes the rest of them." Dad: "nobody wants to do that." LOL - I had such a dad and what a treasure they are. I'm enjoying watching the two of you as much as the process. I am such a huge proponent of sustainability and architectural salvage - so worth the effort to keep your building's cool factor.
i know that this isn't what it's about, but I just had to mention at how adorable you two are. all the support and kindness when working together. you're putting an incredible amount of care into this whole thing and I really can't wait to see the next one and to watch the project. You're really crushing it.
I love seeing you work with your dad. Hes so nice and patient lol He reminds me of my dad. This seems like so much fun too. I wish I was able to do something like this with my dad before he passed.
I'm new to your channel. I enjoy watching you make this journey. After today, I also miss my Daddy. We took on so many projects and I learned so much. Thank you.
This is great that you’re able to get these windows but you n your dad had to work hard for something that was free. Also having your dads help n the quality time together. Love to hear more about the town where your new residence will be ( well eventually). ♥️🥰👍🌟🌟
I’m 41 now and my daddy is 67. This reminds me of when I was younger. I was my daddy’s right hand man. We built things. Fixed things. Even gutted and redid the bathroom for my momma when she became disabled (RIP Momma). I have a feeling I’ll end up crying during these videos. 😂
Wow, what backbreaking, and actually, dangerous work. Talk about sweat equity! The windows are beautiful, and I can't wait to see what you do with them.
Mars....Venus.....Experienced....Learning....It was wonderful watching you and your Dad working together. Dad helping your dreams come true. It's what it is all about, The journey.
That is so cool you are finding awesome stuff to use in your new old building! Always a good day when we get to see you making progress on your place! That's not dust on your face, its construction glitter LOL
Great idea to use the windows and good teamwork. When I was a girl I used to watch my Dad build houses. I'd also draw blueprints for them with a nail in the dirt. I still enjoy watching construction. Now I think maybe I should have gone into drafting and been an architect. Or a contactor.
I am so proud of you! You are definitely not afraid of work. You and your dad did a great job taking out the windows. Can’t wait to see the finished work. Thank you for the entertainment and I’m always looking forward to the next episode.
So i started to watch, just for the halibut. And something to watch while i have breakfast, i got to say that i like that you take your health and safety serious. And that you actually do stuff, not standing idly by or letting hired people do the cleaning up of the store.
Our house was originally built 114 years ago as the brick powerhouse for the railroad right next door and housed the big Westinghouse generators on the roof. The southern side of our house has two stories worth of the steel grid factory windows. I love the light that they bring in!
You might be all grown up, but your dad telling you to put in your ear plugs and sound barriers on top you immediately complied. To our parents, we will always remain their little kids, won't we, hahaha 😆 👍. Cool windows btw.
Way to go! I love to salvage. I also used to work side by side with my dad. It’s some of my best memories that I have of him. You’re going to be sore from swinging those hammers! I look forward to seeing progress. Good luck!
Drinking a latte for my cousin 🥰😇 We have windows like this in our 100+ year old fixer upper. Love them! We had them all reglazed after replacing broken panes of restoration (wavy) glass. Who knew there were so many kinds of restoration glass!
This video captivated me. Scary and funny at the same time. Well done on the angles. Did you both have sore muscles the next day? Best part was your dad’s comment, “Nobody wants to.” (Right at the end). 😂. Thank you!
It looks as if your dad is a field mechanic of some sort. It's great that your learning self sufficient life style from him. Many people now a days need this education.
Those windows are great. It was interesting to see the different approaches between you and your Dad. I was with you on the more cautious approach. Who won the bet? 😂
For some reason. this reminds me of my father yelling out the kitchen window for me to stop throwing a baseball like a girl. He was all for women’s lib when I was growing up in the 70’s. I was expected to do my share in every job my brothers had to do around the yard and house. Builds character and learned a lot.
I am worried about the dust. Be careful what you inhale. So much bad stuff in older building materials (asphestos). Kudos on a job well done. 💪💪💞💞👍👍 Your Dad worked really hard to help you. It will be interesting to see how those windows will work in your tiny home.
Hahaha, I couldn't help but chuckle at all your questions, suggestions, sighs and admonitions because I would have sounded the same. DEFINITELY many differences between males and females. 😂
It's a lot of work to get those windows out. When those types of windows are installed, they actually slide them down from the top or put the Block in around the windows. Too bad you were not close by to Michigan because I just gave away four big Windows identical to those that came out of one of the Ford plants
As far as hauling the windows vertically as opposed to horizontally, that's how window/glass companies haul their glass. It has less flex that way, and therefore less of a chance of breaking. It seems counterintuitive, but the glass has more strength vertically than it does across the whole surface. So Pops was definitely right on that one
Emma - the previous owners of our 100+ year old home installed storm windows behind (inside of) the original leaded paned windows. So we have the original look of the home but added efficiency. A worthwhile investment!
I’m sure you thought of this but thought I would ask why you would not have used a stone saw😢 or put a masonry blade on a grinder to at least cut through the first layer of the cinderblock could hose it down while you it to keep dust down (❤that sledge hammer gets heavy after a bit 🤷♂️ just sayin lol🤣) love this old building and wish I could find something like that in my area it will be amazing thanks f😢sharing your journey with us
One thing about the Frettses is that we use what we have. If I bought every tool that I “needed” I would have no money left for my renovation 😂 but I’m sure there are plenty of tools out there that could have made this a little more efficient! Hopefully it’s entertaining either way 🫶🏼
You are too cute, Im in love ❤ I hope you find a man that can truly love you and appreciate who you are! Your willingness to tackle every job and willingness to learn is such a rare quality to find in a woman when it comes to doing a mans work! PS: really should have invested in an energy efficient window, such as dual pane with wood frame. That metal frame will be really cold 🥶 in the winter. Since theres no thermal barrier it will transfer into your building. Im in Arizona and made the mistake of buying aluminum frame windows and they were almost too hot to touch in the summer!
P.P.P. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. SORRY, MANY YEARS OF OSHA 500 SAFETY. LOL. AND I WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT ONE OF THOSE WINDOWS FALLING OUT OF THERE AND CUTTING 1 OF YOUR GUYS FEET.
How exciting. You are blessed with so many free goods that you have acquired
It's evident that your dad loves you, very much, and he is SO lucky to have you, and you him❤
No doubt about it 💗
I love the dad and daughter video. You both did a great job with getting those windows out of concrete blocks. 👏
Father, daughter projects are the best. You will never forget these times. My father has been gone for over 7 years, miss him every day.

Dads a star!
Fantastic having your dad assists you. Great job on the window removal. You can learn a lot from dad.

Thank you for the info! I def want to make sure all the glass is secure when I get them up. And yes, dad is definitely the best 💗

Aww, that is truly so kind. I appreciate it :) I'm definitely having so much fun on the journey!!
I really enjoy watching your journey on repairing this building. Your dad seems like a really great guy.
Well done! Salvaged building materials are the corner stone of sustainable development.
Can't wait to see that old store of yours all spiffed up :)
I think it’s great your father and you get to build these memories. 👍🏼
Boy, y'all are gonna be stiff and sore..that was hard work ;) I love watching Dad's working with their daughters on these projects!

You are a natural storyteller young lady!
What a good Dad!!

Aww. That is so sweet. You're welcome to cry, laugh, feel whatever you can feel during these videos 🥹💗
Wow, what backbreaking, and actually, dangerous work. Talk about sweat equity! The windows are beautiful, and I can't wait to see what you do with them.
You two make a great team! ⚒️
Thank you so much!! 🤎
Mars....Venus.....Experienced....Learning....It was wonderful watching you and your Dad working together. Dad helping your dreams come true. It's what it is all about, The journey.
Thank you so much! He's a major major help and I have a lot of fun working with him :)
Your pops is a great Dad, even reminding to use ear protection. Good man.
What a great dad! This is fond memories in the making!
That is so cool you are finding awesome stuff to use in your new old building! Always a good day when we get to see you making progress on your place! That's not dust on your face, its construction glitter LOL
Hahaha I actually laughed out loud. I’m going to use that from now on 😂
I'm impressed with you doing the work. Swing the hammer..

Really nice score on those windows!

So very convenient!!
Fun episode. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, that is truly incredible! I can't wait to get these windows opened up :)
Great work!
i love seeing you and your dad work ! i miss my dad
Loved the slow mo shots! Cheers mom!
Your a real grafter Emma, it's nice to see you doing your bit ! , your property is going to end up great
You might be all grown up, but your dad telling you to put in your ear plugs and sound barriers on top you immediately complied.
To our parents, we will always remain their little kids, won't we, hahaha 😆 👍.
Cool windows btw.
Omg I held my breath. You need to count your fingers . The young one has good safety thoughts . Boy I miss my dad 😂
Way to go! I love to salvage. I also used to work side by side with my dad. It’s some of my best memories that I have of him. You’re going to be sore from swinging those hammers! I look forward to seeing progress. Good luck!
So cool! Yes, I'm making some great memories and I'm so glad I have them on film to always remember 🥹 Thank you so much!!

Good morning Emma, carry on the great work, greetings from UK,
Good morning!! 🤎🇬🇧
💥What a GREAT DAD💥
You make a great team.
Nice big windows for green house.
It looks as if your dad is a field mechanic of some sort. It's great that your learning self sufficient life style from him. Many people now a days need this education.
😊 dad! ❤ you! 😊😊😊😊
A demolition team!!! Great job. Looking forward to what you're up to next.
Those windows are great. It was interesting to see the different approaches between you and your Dad. I was with you on the more cautious approach. Who won the bet? 😂

Ms Emma you are driven! Those windows are a great score! That’s a lotta work to remove but a good score nonetheless.
Thank you!! They are a great score and it was so worth the effort to get them!
I am worried about the dust. Be careful what you inhale. So much bad stuff in older building materials (asphestos).
Kudos on a job well done. 💪💪💞💞👍👍
Your Dad worked really hard to help you. It will be interesting to see how those windows will work in your tiny home.
I always wear a mask now. I'm trying to convert him lol. But I'm so excited to get these in the tiny house!
That's hard work!
Hahaha, I couldn't help but chuckle at all your questions, suggestions, sighs and admonitions because I would have sounded the same. DEFINITELY many differences between males and females. 😂
I was hearing “hold my beer” lol
Oh for sure 😂
Your so funny I love that your dad is working with you teaching you so lucky I do the same with my daughter
We are pretty funny together! I definitely have fun, but I don't know if he can say the same 😂
Rocking the MAHA hat. Nice. I hope you expand to X one of these days.
It's a lot of work to get those windows out.

Too bad you were not close by to Michigan because I just gave away four big Windows identical to those that came out of one of the Ford plants
Now ain't that a whole lotta fun!
I'd hammer drill some big holes in the block. Probably make it a bit easier to knock out.
Emma, I love it that you are so willing to jump in and get dirty. Swinging that 16lb sledge is not joke and you gave it your all. Proud of you kid
lol dads are all the same 😂 “if the glass breaks we’ll replace it don’t worry”
Truly 🤣
Cheers to Mom, your Dad is great! ...who won the bet?? 😂 he can go two miles an hour. 😂
He won - or so he says! I haven't actually inspected them for myself 👀😂
I learned never to bet with my Dad, he won evertime! 🥰❤
Thanks
Is this the new way of breaking in......🤣🤣🤣

It seems counterintuitive, but the glass has more strength vertically than it does across the whole surface. So Pops was definitely right on that one
That’s interesting and never would have guessed that! Good to know though because we will be hauling more! Thanks! 😊
@ you are quite welcome! Glad to help! Keep up the good work, love the channel!
If those windows are not double glazed, the heat loss in winter will be significant. Steel frames are great for durability and security, though.
Emma - the previous owners of our 100+ year old home installed storm windows behind (inside of) the original leaded paned windows. So we have the original look of the home but added efficiency. A worthwhile investment!
IM glad you said it, I didn’t want to be a “debbie downer”
I’m sure you thought of this but thought I would ask why you would not have used a stone saw😢 or put a masonry blade on a grinder to at least cut through the first layer of the cinderblock could hose it down while you it to keep dust down (❤that sledge hammer gets heavy after a bit 🤷♂️ just sayin lol🤣) love this old building and wish I could find something like that in my area it will be amazing thanks f😢sharing your journey with us

Daughters are the new sons.
P.P.E. = Personal Protective Equipment.
You are so pretty 😍
A concrete saw might be helpful.
Reuse - like that, thats the way i do things to .... Good for your budget, but takes longer time ..
I think I would have taped the windows to keep from breaking just incase
You need an experienced mason to help, too bad I'm so far away, best of luck on your project
P.P.P. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. SORRY, MANY YEARS OF OSHA 500 SAFETY. LOL. AND I WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT ONE OF THOSE WINDOWS FALLING OUT OF THERE AND CUTTING 1 OF YOUR GUYS FEET.
Hi Dad
Love your hat......
Thank you! :)
listen to your dad lol
I do! After I put my 2 cents in 😂
He needs eye protection! YIKES! Better safe than sorry.
Are you building a green house into the back house?
The greenhouse will be on the side of the general store!
Howdy Howdy Emma
