Not every Etsy shop started selling the year they opened. That may explain low sales. I had one shop that I opened almost a decade ago, back when Etsy was all crafts. I used it to test different ideas I had. I would leave the shop dormant for a year or 2 at a time. I had maybe 6 sales over a period of years. As I gained more Etsy selling experience (with other shops), instead of closing that shop, I revamped the merch, rebranded and niched down (to an area that had high sales on Etsy). Today, that shop makes 4K-6K a month. High sales, but low sales if you base it on the date I officially opened the shop.
Yes, it's not impossible to revive a dormant shop!
This is encouraging to me, because I am trying to do the same thing and in the last few months I’ve made 14 sales with very few products so I’m hoping to fully revive my shop in a year from now, and hopefully make a few thousand dollars per month.

Excellent. Selling on Etsy has been incredibly hard these days. I also made the mistake of offering too many products without a consistent concept. Now I'm channeling to night light products only. Do you have any suggestion for print on demand providers that make such products?

Hi Dylan! I recently started an Etsy POD shop about a month ago. I was getting views at first (no sales), and then as I started to learn more and edit my shop and fill in more details, my views have gone to zero the last few days. I deactivated about 20 listings, because they were really bad and didn’t fit in. My shop looks better, my mockups and SEO are getting better (following your advice), but shop has tanked. Is this because I deactivated those listings? Or is it because I’ve been editing my shop and changed the banner and about page and policies? Is Etsy confused now, and not pushing my shop? It’s so frustrating, because I was getting views when my shop was crappy, and now nothing when it’s looking so much better.

Hi! Thank you so much for your reply! Definitely getting sales has been hard… I started my shop beginning of this year but I’ve only gotten handful sales so far. Etsy is not my familiar platform before so understanding what sells are bit difficult. Definitely not as easy as what people say on the UA-cam channels out there😂

@@dylanjahraus I've 3 small children and I've been a stay at home mom for about 5 years. I'd love to have it at a stage where it is a full time income 10k+pm. I really want a career but I also want to be here when my kids get home from school and to put them to bed at night without our long term finances having to take a hit. I also can't stay still I have way too much energy so I need to be occupied all the time. I love working on Etsy buy sometimes I don't know what the thing I need to be doing is.
