You get amazing cleaning properties and a slick film, which might even aid in the prevention of evaporation and water spotting when working in direct sunlight. Adams Mega Foam can be bought for cheaper, but you’d be using about three times as much product in a single 1 liter lance bottle. Thats comes to a little more than 80¢ per wash.
You can add some Green star to raise the ph and increase the foam if sticking with the light dilution ratio. Also take some of the left over foam in the cannon and blast the bucket before use.
I have not tried that. I think the added green star is to give it some punch in the cleaning. I am putting it in my foam challenge and am going to discuss this topic. GSF works best for me at about 150ml in a cannon. Good tip. Thanks for watching
Nice review but pay attention to the recommended dilution ratio on the bottle. It stands 20ml of the product into 1L of water for the foam sprayer. It means its for the manual foam sprayer, not foam lance used with a pressure washer. So 20ml of the product per 1L water, its about 1:50. Thats the PIR dilution. That would be completly different for a pressure washer foam lance. You need to add more product, a lot more. For correct dilution and finding out the PIR the foam lance need to be massured.
Thanks a lot. Yeah I agree. Higher dilution ratio will produce more foam. The reason why I personally don't like this idea is because the cost per snow foam fill goes up to 5-6 dollars each. I love this product and thought of it as a very positive review but I have to be fair and point out that at these higher dilution ratios this product gets expensive. If you can live with slightly thinner foam and excellent overall performance than GSF can be very affordable at the lower dilution ratio. Here is how I described it in the video description. "To get thicker foam an increased dilution ratio of 150ml to 1L should be used however this greatly increases the cost per wash". Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@TohaToni yeah. I am going to bring it up to a proper dilution in my foam competition. Check out those vids. The only bummer is when you raise it too high it gets pricey. We will see how it compares to the others in the end. Thanks for watching and commenting
GSF is super thick if you add more than the recommended 20 ml in 1 litre. I tend to go with 100 ml; you probably can get by with less and I know that impacts over cost/wash, but I do love a shaving cream type foam.
Hello, Man. I enjoyed your review of Koch Chemie's GSF. I already bought this shampoo to do my test too. Regarding your UA-cam channel, I like the way you describe the products and the feeling of using them. His joy is contagious. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Waston Ribeiro - Brazil
This soap does well in my pf22.2 with about 150 ml and also green star if you want a nice punch. Super slick and great product. Keep checking out the kcx line and I've been impressed with everything so far.
Great video, as always. I bought Koch Chemie GFX Gentle Snow Foam X-Mas recently. Not used it yet but is scented with Roasted Apple and Cinnamon. Looking forward to trying it later this week 😀
Awesome review. Keep it up. I’ve been on the fence about getting some but I thought it was pricey for one liter and not sure if it was worth it. Your video is the only one I’ve watched that mentions how little product you need to wash your car. Now I think I’ll order some. Thanks!
Loved the intro today! I've never tried this brand but I'm starting hear some good stuff. That dilution ratio in the foam cannon is amazing considering I'm using about a 100ml of all of my other snowfoams in a 1 litre for cannon
Thanks. I definitely like this shampoo. If you up the dilution ratio it will make more foam but it gets pricey because it’s a small bottle. It’s nice to know that it is a good value and works well at the recommended ratio. Thanks for watching.
The other thing to consider is that the Karcher K1700 Cube isn't very powerful regarding gpm's. With the mods you and I both have on our cubes, the output is just 1.4 which is just barely enough to get shaving cream style foam with soaps. Unfortunately, that means you have to lean towards the higher end regarding dilution ratios to get that level of foam. Matt from Obsessed Garage explains this during his pressure washer series. With more powerful pressure washers like the AR Blue Clean that he sells, Kranzles, Comets, etc, you'll be able to get away with less foam............... Also, on another note, a couple other factors that come into play are of course water hardness, water temperature, etc. For example (hardness), my water in NY is so hard that I put a RV filter on my setup which helps deionize the water a little bit, but doesn't compare to a full blown deionizer. Another example (temperature) when I hook up my hose to the hot water outlet during the winter months I don't even use the RV filter & the foam comes out crazy thick......If i used the RV filter or even a full blown deionizer that would be the best bet for max foam. BUT I get stellar foam by just simply leaning towards the higher end regardless of the factors I just discussed, the modded setup we both have is sufficiently effective. Additional question: Everyone rants & raves about how amazing the fragrance of gsf is, I understand Koch Chemie specifies the soap to be cherry scented as you also noted, but I heard a few people say it's not a typical "cough syrup" type cherry. Instead, they say it has different undertones that make it unique......Is this true or are people just over excited about this new product? Great Channel by the way, love your videos, keep it up!
I think the amount used for the foam cannon wasn't enough. With some of it sticking inside the measure cup as well as the water coming through the cannon I think diluted it a little to much. I've seen some videos of it with pretty thick foam.
Great vid! Would like to see a video about Koch Chemie Gs (Green Star) it's a high quality APC and it can be diluted to many cleaning tasks. BTW if you add it on pre-mixed solution of GSF to foam cannon it will remove stubborn dirt and insects easily and effectively.
Thanks for the vid, i plan on giving this stuff a try this year. Question, have you ever tried Adams Mega Foam? I used it last year and i had a lot of fun with it because it does lay down the super thick 2" inches of foam, but i cant really speak for its actual cleaning ability.
I do have it. It’s in the shelf. It lays down great foam. Not sure about the value of the extra foam. I plan to review it soon and dig into this topic. Thanks for watching.
I have the same Karcher… did you paint the front of it? I’ve only ever seen them in the green color. Also, I really like your pressure washer and hose set up, I’m going to try to do something pretty similar in my garage.
You can get much better foam out of it if you put 5 ounces in the foam cannon. I find the labels always call for way to weak of a dilution to really get any thick foam.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I totally agree. With other shampoos I just dump as much as I want in there to get good foam. At this price point though I wanted to test it as advertised because when you go much higher in the ratio it starts to be spendy. At 5 oz or 150ml of Gsf you get 6 foam cannon fills per bottle. If you make up a wash bucket with 50ml per 2.5 gallons to go with it now you are at less than 5 washes per bottle. For some people that may be a deal breaker. I plan to revisit Gsf soon with a comparison to my other favorite shampoos comparing Slickness, Foam cannon, Cleaning ability and Value. I did really like this shampoo for sure and plan to keep using it in the future.
Please read the comment from @Makkis Carspa. You used the wrong dilution in your foam lance. 20 ml is for manual hand sprayers such als a Gloria FM10, Kwazar super foamer or similar. Since most of the foam lances on a higher pressure washer continue dilution (most do 1:10) your pre dilution you need to increase the amount in your bottle by 10x times.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I made a reply to him. I agree. I did not use the wrong dilution ratio. I had the details about using higher dilution ratios written in the description of the video. Its the cost that goes way up with these higher dilution ratios. Some people don't mind that part of it but I wanted to show what the product will do at an affordable ratio for those that are concerned about value. My findings are that I like the GSF a lot and that it performs excellent and is reasonably priced at a lower dilution ratio. If you put 150 - 200ml in the canon it will foam much better but you will get 5 foam canon fills for 28 bucks.
@@roberthodges164 you can go as thin as you want with the foam. Instant fail, lol, 20 ml is for manual foam sprayers. And you definitely shouldn't need to apply it over the same area 3-4 times, 1 pass should be good at a higher dilution. I think you should redo the video at 150 ml dilution. Also why would you buy that dinky 1 liter bottle? I bought the $80 5 liter bottle, at 150 mL that's something like $2.40 per wash. Have you found a dispenser that's compatible with the 5 Liter can??
Yeah I agree with you if you follow the poorly worded instructions it’s an instant fail. It’s odd that it’s marketed as a snow foam and does not mention dilution for a proper foam cannon at all. Who would use a manual foam sprayer to apply snow foam to the paint anyway? Why is that on there as the primary method? Yes if you put 5 oz or 150 ml in the cannon it works well. It’s slick and cleans really well. With the 1000 ml bottle costing $28 dollars that comes out to $5 per wash. That’s 5x almost every other soap on the market. I do have another test for it soon that you may enjoy. I will put it against another popular soap and will do it at the 150ml ratio. I do really like this soap a lot that’s why I bought it but it is pricey to get it to perform well in a foam cannon. I have used it a lot and personally think it’s worth every penny but my guess is most people won’t agree at that price point. That’s the best part of all this is that you can use what makes you happy. That’s what I do. I don’t have the 5 liter dispenser but if I hear of a good solution I will let you know. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it.
@@HawaiiDetailing I called up my friend in Europe, and he gave me some information on different DIN sizes. I believe the 5 liter bottle uses a DIN 51 socket. Will be testing this soon, as it's very easy to spill this stuff.

I was a fan of Koch Chemie for so many years but I have to say they can not keep up with the competitors. Sonax Actifoam Energy is the best snow foam product on the market at the moment imho. In Germany Koch Chemie was THE brand in former times. Sonax keept up with the profi line and others such as Servfaces or Nanolex are game changers.
Actually that statement is wrong on many occasions. Koch Chemie is still one of the mayor players in Germany, especially in the professional sector. There is no other brand which delivers BMW, VAG, and Daimler directly in their plants when it comes to polishing compounds. Also Koch is still the Choice of many detailers and valeters here in Germany. I don’t know where you get your infos 🤷🏻♂️
@@marioan3698 They were the golden standard in former times but they resting on their sucess. In case of coatings they can not compete. Their polishing compounds are amazing, thats true! The good old products like green star or pol star are brilliant but others are taking over.... And new products of them are kinda disappointing.

Don'y you think that you are wasting a little product each time by not washing the measuring cup with the leftover product inside? Maybe it is not a lot, but when you do this on a daily basis it will add up?
Love your videos! Question… it’s 50ml for 2.5 gallons of water. If using a 5 gallon bucket that means I would need to add a total of 100ml of GSF? Appreciate your help.
I use about 2oz per 5 gallon bucket. You can use more or less depending on how much suds you want. Adjust to your needs. I find that it does a great job at 2oz. Thanks for watching
That's tough because Pearl is so much less money. I think Koch is a far better product overall but dollar for dollar probably pearl if you are on a budget. I am doing a video with Koch in the cannon challenge at a much higher dilution. Maybe wait and see it before e deciding. Thanks for watching
@@HawaiiDetailing in your opinion which snow foam is better at lifting dirt. Shaving cream style or a more running style like the 2 mentioned before? I want to use whichever lifts the most
Thanks for watching. My opinion of course but here are the differences. I like both of these products and consider them both to be in the thin clingy foam category out of the foam cannon but offer great slickness and cleaning. Smell cherry vs lemon Gsf seems to be more concentrated but the bottle is smaller and is similar in cost to a gallon of P&S. With the labeled dilution ratio of the Gsf there is good value. I think increasing the dilution ratio of Gsf on the foam cannon would be better but that makes the value drop off significantly. Gsf appeared to be a slight bit slicker to the touch but time will tell as I get to use it on different vehicles. If you enjoy trying new stuff than you will be really happy with this product. If you already have a great shampoo like Adam’s or P&S than you could try it after you use those up. I like to keep things interesting and try new products and this turned out to be a great addition to the lineup. I will definitely use it regularly. Hope that helps.
@@HawaiiDetailing thank you for taking the time to respond as I know that spoke about both of them in your review but you answered my question. I use the Griots surface wash, Adams, MTM but I am mostly turn to the Griots.
I always start at 2oz per foam cannon and see how it works. I add 1 oz at a time from there based on the results. This method varies based on the quality of your water and pressure washer output. I continue to adjust the dilution to get the desired foam amount that you want.
Nice try, but you are diluting the product waaaayyy too much. You are supposed to have the dilution you have in the foam bottle when it hits the paint.
@@CookieManCookies thanks for the update. Let me know what you figure out.
I just found your channel and already watched about 10 videos.
Thanks. Glad you like them and thanks for following the channel
I like your videos. Although it pisses me off when I see you out washing your cars in a tshirt and shorts, lol. My dumb ass lives in Ohio and I’m scratching my eyes out trying to figure out how to wash my cars with 10 inches of snow and 15 degree temps. Keep up the great videos man!
Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. Yeah its warm here. I like to visit the cold but always like coming home.
Thats the first thing I thought of too!!! I miss my flip flops (St. Louis here)
I just bought some. Looking forward to trying it.

griots foaming surface wash next?? ive heard it has amazing self cleaning properties.
I will look into it. Thanks
Awesome 😎!!
Thanks.
Thanks for the info. Have to look into those.
@@HawaiiDetailing You are welcome! P.S.: Awesome Garage and awesome videos!
You have a new subscriber :)
@@ps238mb thanks man. I appreciate it.
Great content! What brand are those shelves you used with the bottles? - Thanks!

Don'y you think that you are wasting a little product each time by not washing the measuring cup with the leftover product inside? Maybe it is not a lot, but when you do this on a daily basis it will add up?
I usually throw it in the wash bucket to rinse it off
Man i love this channel!
Thanks a lot. I appreciate it.
Thanks for watching

amazing intro
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Would you recommend GSF with GreenStar or Active Foam for dirty cars?
I have not used active foam. Probably the same as GSF mixed with greenstar. I like being able to adjust the power so I go with GSF.
With that electric pressure washer, do you have the 1.1m orifice mod for your foam cannon?
Yes
if you to want to have of a bit of cleaning power add pol star with it 💪
Thanks. Thanks for watching
Pol start or green star?
Kx nano magic shampoo is also a great product
I can use for prewash
Yes.
if you could only recommend one for budget reasons which one would you get this koch or p&s pearl?
That's tough because Pearl is so much less money. I think Koch is a far better product overall but dollar for dollar probably pearl if you are on a budget. I am doing a video with Koch in the cannon challenge at a much higher dilution. Maybe wait and see it before e deciding. Thanks for watching
@@HawaiiDetailing in your opinion which snow foam is better at lifting dirt. Shaving cream style or a more running style like the 2 mentioned before? I want to use whichever lifts the most
I have gfs and love it but carpro reset is still king
Which pressure washer do you use? Thanks.
www.hawaiidetailing.com/wallmountedpressurewasher
How would you compare it to the P&S?
6:50
Thanks for watching. My opinion of course but here are the differences.
I like both of these products and consider them both to be in the thin clingy foam category out of the foam cannon but offer great slickness and cleaning.
Smell cherry vs lemon
Gsf seems to be more concentrated but the bottle is smaller and is similar in cost to a gallon of P&S.
Probaby shouldn’t be having your hands all in that soap it has acid in it..that’s why it says danger on the bottle lol
I usually wear gloves. Thanks
Where did you get your measuring cup?
Thanks for watching. I have links to it in the description.
This guy is so cool
Thanks.
I have a 32 oz Foam gun. How many oz of product should I use
I always start at 2oz per foam cannon and see how it works. I add 1 oz at a time from there based on the results. This method varies based on the quality of your water and pressure washer output. I continue to adjust the dilution to get the desired foam amount that you want.
@@HawaiiDetailing thanks sir. Your awesome

Can you compare this to carpro reset?

Good stuff
Yeah. I like it for sure.

Best Snow Foam!
Definitely a good one. Thanks for watching
Nice try, but you are diluting the product waaaayyy too much. You are supposed to have the dilution you have in the foam bottle when it hits the paint. Mixed properly Gsf will both foam up and clean better than shown here! Looking forward to a follow up where you test the product the way it's supposed to be used!
Thanks for watching and commenting. I get what you are saying but Its the cost that goes way up with these higher dilution ratios. Since there is so much interest in this topic I will plan to do a head to head comparison with a similar quality affordably priced shampoo and see where we are with this. I already have my opinions based on the variety of high quality shampoos I use in my garage all the time. To be fair these products are all very good that's why I purchased them and still have them around.
what is your favorite car shampoo?
KC - GSF for the bucket. It’s a loose fav. There are a bunch of good ones. Check out this. www.hawaiidetailing.com/wash
