I was watching this video in tears and with bags of mixed emotions. It brought memories of my late father, a staunch believer, and follower of this great legend Chief Obafemi Awolowo. My father would tell us stories and great things about this great leader with great admiration, I grew up thinking Chief Awolowo was a divine or somehow some kind of a deity enshrined in the folklore of the Yoruba people. These great stories about this great man stayed with me and caused me to want to know more about Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
A true legend, a visionary and exemplary leader, a great father and family man. We are forever indebted to him. He gave us free education and many other great policies that helped millions of Nigerians out of poverty.
Thank you Mr Obilo for this video and thank you Mrs Awolowo Dosunmu for preserving the legacy of Chief Obafemi Awolowo the greatest President we never had!

Wow....my mother's home town (aka Ikenne Ereke as they say) and I remember the visit to Papa's home meeting Great Mama Awolowo with my mother in the 80s. The recent film brings back a lot of memories indeed and privileged to have met some Senior Advocates of Nigeria home and in Lagos - the Sofola's, then Papa & M Solarin etc. All from Ikenne - Imagine the wealth of legacy Ikenne Remo left our world. I beamed as I watched. Not been back for decades.

The Queen knew Awolowo & his family on a personal level.
*She understood how intelligent Awolowo was. But she was very scared of losing control of Nigeria, hence the entire continent. That was the reason she covertly vowed to continue to let the less intelligent & "uncommitted" control the country. She never wanted Awolowo to become the President & it never happened.
*The queen saw what Awolowo did for his people as a regional leader. She was aware of how independent he was capable of making his people. She was scared of having him completely free the entire country, so she made sure Awolowo never became the predident.
*I hope Baba & his family knew that the queen was never committed to an absolute-free Nigeria.

Yariba media told us that Awolowo once pleaded with Nnamdl Azikwe to divide the country so that everyone will go their separate ways but Zik refused that "Nigeria must be one"
My question is: , if the above statement was true, why didn't Awolowo declare his Oduduwa Republic when the opportunity availed itself as Ojukwu had already done since that was what he was yearning for? Let's not also forget that Awolowo was a close confidence to Ojukwu and even advised him to go on with the creation of the Biafran state.
You see! If you're not logical enough to decipher when a lie is being told you will take the narrative as true. Do not be surprised because betrayed has always been the bedrock of a typical Yariba man.
This was how they used the then media to spread falsehood to make it look like Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu was greedy for doing what everyone collectively decided.

When I hear his name I cringe: the recollection of pain in my mum’s voice telling me how he caused the starvation, suffering and death of so many igbos during the civil war is an unshakable narrative I hold of him!!
Awolowo may be a hero to his own people but he is a monster to so many.
Lesson learn: your legacy as a true leader remains questionable for many when your advocacy will lead to the destruction of many others.
Advise: Today, wherever you are in any capacity you find yourself in, question how your decision will affect others because it’s those same people that will uphold and carry on your legacy in the years to come.

You have been misinformed and misled on the positive role of Awo before, during and after the civil war. Go and read his books and the words of Ojukwu when Awo died. Awo never caused any hardship to the Biafrans. Ojukwu and his Co travellers did. May their souls rest in peace. May Nigeria succeed.

Great tour but personally, I am of the opinion that the interviewer wasn't well prepared for the visit as he failed to ask important fine details about each photograph that was shown to him. I can understand that he allowed the woman to lead the interview but at the same time subtle probing questions would be very cool.. Overall, I enjoyed the watching the very insightful video.

I guess you do not know the guy. He is Edmund Obilo. He did not show his interview with the woman. That's all he wants us to see. Watch out for his interview with the woman or check his archives.
He is a world class journalist. He just decided to share this video like this.

Awolowo was solely responsible for ethnic and tribal bigotry ravaging Nigeria today.

MUMU is ""Attrocites "" where did the war started from? Banza, that war started from the north ,so why can't Ojukwu go to the north to retalite?? But he choose to come to Lagos to war and you think the Yoruba that doesn't know how Igbo were killed in the north and how the war started will now be the one to start dieing in Lagos SHUD incase Ojukwu comes to attack Lagos, reason am,when AGU IRONSI was doing his coup he didn't know that their will be repercussions ABI?? You started it now you are blaming others for mistake, afterall IGBO AGU IRONSI AND BEN NWABUEZE destroyed Nigeria by CENTRALIZING ALL PEACEFUL REGION TO THE CENTER.USE YOU HEAD WELL B4 YOU TALK HERE

Remember the cause of the so-called atrocities was caused as a result that, if Ibos did not betrayed other Ibo that planned the 1st coup such atrocities would have not happened.
That is, the coup has no national faces in its execution.
