  • I'm focusing on how to face lather using stirling soap's executive man shave soap. Most of the shave is going to be focused on face lathering or how to lather your face. Also, I am going to give tips that I've learned over the last six months on how to use a safety razor around your goatee and how to trim in perfect lines. What not to do with a safety razor.

    I really enjoyed this video. I enjoy all of your but it this one is pure money bro. From the beginning to the end of your routine you took your time, explained what you were doing and adding in the closeups was very well done. Your buttering toast analogy was spot on. I never thought of the audio feedback like that but you’re so right. That wasn’t just a shaving video that was an educational video worthy of a classroom. I love Nivea balm as well. Since it has a mild scent I usually add a small amount of aftershave to it. Works pretty well lol

      Appreciate that, brother. Glad you liked the buttering toast analogy.

    Excellent video. My daily triple shave takes about 15min. Take my time and enjoy it. It’s a great way to start my day with my “zen” moment. I use a Merkur 34c with Feather and/or Nacet blade and rotate Taylor Sandlewood, Wool Fat, and Clubman soaps. Smooth all the way to night time.

      @@OhioShaves: just started DE safety razor shaving last month after 50 years of single edge, disposable multi edge, and electric razors. I never knew what I was missing! I’ll never go back again. This ritual is such a pleasurable part of my day. Always good to see your content. Thanks.

      Great to hear from you brother. Glad you're enjoying the Rockwell. Number four plate is a winner for me as well with certain blades. How do you like the audible feedback that the Rockwell gives?

    I find a good technique for the Adam’s Apple is to pull the skin to the left, shave, then pull the skin to the right, shave. It covers the center line nicely.

    Probably worth mentioning that Stirling's Executive man has an excellent scent. I have the aftershave.

    Try a more back and forth motion vs circular motion. Much better results.

    • @OhioShaves
      @OhioShaves  2 роки тому +1

      That doesn't work for me. I have to go in a circular motion to build a lather and to get the soap under my hair follicles. I go back-and-forth to paint my face after I have a lather on my face.

    Got a question for you Dave. My current brush is the T3 with the synthetic Sovereign bristles. The next step up with Simpson is the Chubby 2 with higher quality bristles. Have you tried the CH2 SYN? If so….did it give you a better lather application than the T3. Just curious…cause they want a lot more money for the Chubby 2.

    I usually get the soap and the brush much more loaded with water for the loading phase so I can lather faster, but the I have lots of lather and kind of saturates the brush and gets too dry I think.
    I'll try this and start dry and then build up water!!
