This sounds fantastic. You can feel how much patience they have with playing these songs live now. So much depth and so much trust to let the song breath. Thank you for this, everyone involved. It lifted me up and I needed it.
John Short It’s too bad, Clint, the original drummer, quit. He had a very messy, live feel that added so much. Clint was also one of the drummers on Lifted by Bright eyes. A lot of driving, messy, live feel. It was magic, really
What an amazing sight to see this Band actually produce these sounds... It's hard to fathom that this is real, that's how amazing this Song is; and then to think how amazing a gift Tim's voice is...a gift for us all!
I'm from Massachusetts. I got the absolute blessing to be stationed at Offutt AFB, in Nebraska. I got to hear this amazing band play live in Omaha. Love this fucking band.
I'll forever be from Nebraska. Even though I was born and raised in Massachusetts, After being stationed at Offutt, Listening to this badass band and seeing them live - That's where Im from.,
i love the whole thing. and cant get enough of those drums. the guy kills it! dayum and tim kasher is great as well and the whole song is amazing. needed to listen to this song to for some good old memories
Whew 10 years is a long time! I hope life has gone the way you wanted it to. I hope good fortune has found you and that you are happy. If you aren't its okay. Life gets us down sometimes, but its important we don't give in and that we keep pushing forward. I hope good things for you!
God this reminds me of both MGMT and Tally Hall’s performances on KCRW, also being a ridiculously tight 00’s act that’s seemed to only get better with age.
i would follow this band straight to hell, no joke, ; ) but i don't know if i i could get down w/ that space-invaders-keyboard noise. a solo? no. not even in hell. not even if it's "supposed to be funny". which i guess means i gotta break that thing.
I always loved how half the band looks classically 'indie' and the other half like a contemporary jazz outfit. I heart cursive
this song is beautiful and the ugly organ is a masterpiece of an album.
amen
Curious if you still think so

Man this tune is great, the bass just rips. It always reminds me of the Cure's "Lullaby", as it's really quite haunting.
I've often thought Tim's singing style is influenced (or whatever) by Robert Smith, so this makes sense
I’ve heard that similarity made a lot between these two songs
That bassline is the fucking best.
really love the change of tempo vs the actual one in the record it brings the song out more, and makes it that more intimate.

The Ranch Bowl was where I first saw them... I miss those days!
So much more emotion in this version I love it, listening to his pain, better experience and made the song 10x better
Dark Taco and live it just makes you melt............ I just lost it
that bass guitarist is KILLING IT!
I fucking love Tim Kasher
you're in my web now is my favorite line of any song literally ever
bring back greta!!! the cello made this song so epic back in the day
All praise to the sad
Truth to the matter that is not
Raining from the😊 skies

makes me feel old
loving this bass line..song is great..
Each instrument comes together so sonically & majestic-like but GODDAMN if that bass line ain't everything, & all at once‼️....🙌🏽✨️
wow, just amazing. Still have the music stuck in my head after the song ended haha
Oh my god, a sexier voice does not exist in this world.
Love this band
that drummer just acts so fluid with his playing
I think I watch this video at least once every couple of months...
The ending gave me chills
rock out to this. such fun.
Really lovin the drumming.
@thecomfortisnow
That cello goes so well...gotta agree
Damn. Sounds just as awesome as the studio version!
I'm feeling this and I just heard it ^___^
his voice. fire.
This performance never fails to give me chills. Every single time!
so good
Beautiful.
Awesome rendition of an awesome song by an awesome band!!!! AWESOME!!!!
Just saw Cursive at The National in Richmond! Great show!
Too good
God this reminds me of both MGMT and Tally Hall’s performances on KCRW, also being a ridiculously tight 00’s act that’s seemed to only get better with age.

So kriffing good
Like this version...

@cicilybreck480 it is and it rocks!
I gotta admit...I put this on playback speed 1.25
Eh idk it sounds a little funny. All the vibratos they do, with the voice/ guitars sound off lol
Good call
Gretta
my ego's like my stomach, it keeps shitting what I feed it
Makes me think about facebook
play at 1.25x for studio version
2019

more cowbell!
Does anyone know what microphone Kasher’s singing through in this session?
барат-барадат
♡
@parkerchance with the chello girl?
Why can't I do this? I want friends to collaborate great music with. Even just for fun.
You can do whatever you want man
seeing them my bud in dallas tonight
😑💜
Does anyone know what guitar the guy playing the second lead is using?
Tim (the singer) is playing a standard les paul and Ted (who I think you're talking about) is playing a les paul junior
Gibson Melody Maker with a P-90.
@thecomfortisnow Gretta
It's like Jane's Addiction and The Cure had a baby together.
333333/3
why they play so low live?
PaleRider This is the same key as the recorded version, they play it slower but not lower.
ParkeyFinn perhaps he means quieter?
If you honestly think that it's the cello that makes this song great, I think you're missing something.
sexy
Jazz drummers are sexy.
heres to not finishing anything, anymore
I think she was always temporary. they just wanted to change it up for an album.
@thecomfortisnow aw shit.. i just found this band, thanks to a friend of mine and now i find out they are disintegrated .. not cool..
sounds slower than the album version
why are these dudes so sad is my question?
They're extremely aware of the futility of life.
Love the song love the albun, this recording session is so bad though hahaha
after listening to live versions of this song the studio recording sounds WAAAY too fast
Ppl there is no cello lol its the bass guitar
i would follow this band straight to hell, no joke, ; ) but i don't know if i i could get down w/ that space-invaders-keyboard noise. a solo? no. not even in hell. not even if it's "supposed to be funny".
which i guess means i gotta break that thing.
@superstriker00 lol, this is hardly "jazz drumming"
I think a tube amp would make his bass tone sound better...
he is using a tube amp....
they should try not to have so much fun while they're playing.
a song about being someones side fuck. not exactly a "fun" tune.
Its just not professional
It's called passion
Lol check out the drummer he's holding the sticks like a girl
Drummer looks like he's wearing a proto-MAGA hat.
drummer is playing some slingerlands but they are the shitty 80s ones. I have a set of 63s
shame tim sounds like he's dying throughout..
The drummers wearing a MAGA hat lmao
This was from 2009
multiworldleader yeah I’m just trying to be funny
Wow! This is REALLY bad! 👎
