If you put some rocks in the bath it gives the birds, bees and butterflies have somewhere to stand without wiping in the water (bees and butterflies would drown). I used those glass beads you get for in vases (pound shop) but any stones would work. In the summer we put an orange slice and a slice of water melon out and the butterflies loved sucking the juices from it
Emma please put some sort of top on your water butts so that no creatures fall in and drown. Love your allotment, you could use the little chair you found in the rubbish as a base for the bird bath.
I came here to suggest a dust bath! We have a group of sparrows that nest in the 8 bird boxes along the side of the house, and they LOVE a dust bath! As do our resident starlings 😂 great for keeping the feathers clean and helping with mites!
Personally glad you didn’t get the toilet since I’m enjoying seeing the new plot emerge beautifully as you clean up and get rid of the rubbish that’s already there.
Out the wheelbarrow on its side and lay the toilet against it and pull it up until it’s in and then wheel it back. Also weigh the trays down with rocks large and small and it won’t go anywhere. I am 9 months behind so hopefully you have done this by now
A pot on the plot 🚽🌿 Separate the cistern from the pot and see if you can get it into your wheelbarrow 🧑🌾 or maybe you can put it onto some of the groundsheet and drag it Pick a day to empty the shed and have a good clear out 👍 Make a list of jobs you need to do so you can tick them off as you go 📝
Good morning Emma, your garden is going to be beautiful once your plants take off. Einstein is such a happy little bird he’s taken by your kindness. Your such a hard worker all year through, do take time out for yourself to reenergize, so you don’t get burnt out, as spring and summer will be very busy time of year, as you already know. Organizing your shed will help release stress and you’ll actually will want to being in there, if there’s movement in your shed and a daily quick brushing with a broom all around the corners above and the walls will help keep the spiders and bugs at bay. Just a thought. Have a blessed rest of your day. Take care 😊
Hello Emma, Fine video today so nice to see Einstein happy to see you as always. All the hard work is coming together I am excited for the summer garden there.
Definitely go back for the wooden airer/chair frame thingy, that looked fab! Easy to adapt it for something on the plot, looks a good stand for something 👍
You really cheer me up Emma! I’m not growing brassicas or spuds this year as too many pests about! It’s just such a faff netting everything then it has to be taken back to weed 🤬🤬🤬
Nice finds if you somehow take off the top of the toilet it will make it lighter also quick tip the stems on garlic are flat and onion stems are round time to get broad beans in before the frost happy gardening Richard x
Hi Emma love love love your video diaries...cheers me up 😊 Maybe use that little folding seat you discarded in the rubbish pile for a base for the water bath? Thanks for sharing your allotment adventures with us!! 🙏💜 xx
You could have compost bays from pallets on that last bit at the back, save clearing it and you've lots of stuff to make good compost. Plots are looking fab 👍👍
Hi Emma, I have a toilet in my vegetable garden! I grow flowers in it. So far it's been different flowers in the 3 years I've had it. First year I think it was nasturtiums and a sunflower, last year it was lots of flax (beautiful blue flowers), and this year I've put in a sage bush (not to eat the leaves, I've got one that's not in a toilet for cooking with!) and some little spring bulbs. Sage bushes have beautiful purple flowers, I can't wait til summer so I can see it bloom! Good luck with your garden this year! Cheryl xx
The butterflies will have to jump through hoops to get at your cabbages. Unscrew the toilet cistern from the bowl. Then put your barrow on its side and slide the toilet in . Always keep the load of your barrow over the wheel so you only have to push and not lift as well. Now you're fully trained as a wheelbarrow operator. Another great episode Emma, special thanks to your assistant Einstein in the sound effects department.
Emma! Take your wheelbarrow to the toilet, and tip the wheelbarrow on its side then roll the toilet into it. You can then lift the wheelbarrow upright and you should be able to manage it. Hope you sort it!
The blue pipe that is higher than the shorter ones...just push the pipe ends into the soil until the height is the same. This will give the pipe arch more stability as well.
Looking great emma! The second brassica cage, swap the smallest one with the one on the end next to it and itll bea sliding scale from lowest to highest and will be much easier to put a cane across without having to cut more stuff.
Sorry about the loo. Maybe dismantle it because you could put a trellis in it and grow sweet "pees" 😅see what I did there? Lol I do love the idea of sunflowers at the bottom near the dead hedge. Good episode ❤
I just love the way you save stuff,I do the same. If you unscrew the top of the toilet ,you will be able to lift it. Have another go Emma. Love watching you. Xx
Hi Emma, I am sure you will do wonders with that bug hotel like you have done with your two allotments. I do love the way Einstein pops up every time you are on your allotment (whichever one it is) such a joy to see him.
The bee hotel gets filled with bamboo or hollow wooden tubes. You can put some metal grating over a spot after placing pine cones in it for different kinds of bugs. I have 2 and they get used in the spring and again in the late summer. It is fun to see the tubes being closed off with straw/mud etc while the insect matures
Hi Emma you no you really show us the strength of a ❤WOMAN ❤I thought you would have to get more help from hubby in the beginning but you really did it all.
Hiya Emma. Why don't you use the wooden frame you found where the toilet is to rest the bird bath on? Your allotments are looking great! Welldone you, you've put some real graft in there. X
Emma take your wheelbarrow back to the toilet lay the wheelbarrow on its side right up to the toilet if you have any rope tie the toilet to the wheelbarrow and flip it back up it should be much easier to push up than lifting it up with the weight of it even if you could get some duct tape thats so strong and would be so much better also for the tray a tube of silicone would work or a tube of no nails you should be to pick up for less than £5 each just check its for outside use not indoors
hi emme, i suggest you to go if you can buy the 2 ikea tool kit, they are very well made not too much pricey ( in belgium it's 20€ for one) in the first a hammer a pliers a multi niçt screwdriver ...and in the second one you have a lil drilling/screwing machine you can charge in your house! with all the work you've done alone, you can "invest" in some assisant tool! good job by the way !!!
Hi Emma. I can't believe you left the broken glass on the ground, especially when there's foxes and other animals around. I know you didn't dump it, but it really needs to be lifted.
I was gonna ask why you don't screw your beds together properly and then you said you might soon. Honestly, it would drive me absolutely bonkers not having them screwed together. I'm a bit OCD and would be having panic attacks over it haha.
Yes you planted garlic in the end of the bed. I think it was about the end third of the bed 🧄. It shouldn’t get in the way of the 🥦 sprouts, 🥬 etc as they’ll be coming out as they start to get big so obviously you meant to do that 😂 didn’t you? 😉 😂
Modify that wooden chair frame for the bird bath. You can also use the folding stool for the other.
Blimin brilliant idea!
Damn, I was going to suggest that. Great minds think alike
Was thinking the same thing 😊
Yup... that's what I thought
Unscrew the cistern from toilet pan be easy to carry
If you put some rocks in the bath it gives the birds, bees and butterflies have somewhere to stand without wiping in the water (bees and butterflies would drown). Love that idea about the fruit slices. Thanks for the tip 😍
Emma please put some sort of top on your water butts so that no creatures fall in and drown. Love your allotment, you could use the little chair you found in the rubbish as a base for the bird bath.
I'd have done a bird bath and a dust bath for the birds!
It's amazing what you can make from junk!
I came here to suggest a dust bath! We have a group of sparrows that nest in the 8 bird boxes along the side of the house, and they LOVE a dust bath! As do our resident starlings 😂 great for keeping the feathers clean and helping with mites!
Love that little bird house classy so dry there been rainingg here none stop !!!!! 💥💥💥💥💥👍👍👍👍👍
'..and all that malarky.' Love it. We know what we need to do, don't need it rammed down everytime.
Emma if you are planting Blueberry’s remember to make sure you have acid soil as that type of soil is what blueberry plants love.
The little camping stool you open to make a stool in the rubbish area would make a good thing to put your bird bath on x
Personally glad you didn’t get the toilet since I’m enjoying seeing the new plot emerge beautifully as you clean up and get rid of the rubbish that’s already there.
You can go back for that old chair and somehow use that to put your bird bath on 😍
Emma, take the toilet apart. You’ll need an adjustable wrench. You should be able to transport it then. Then put it back together. Easy peezy.
Out the wheelbarrow on its side and lay the toilet against it and pull it up until it’s in and then wheel it back. Also weigh the trays down with rocks large and small and it won’t go anywhere. I am 9 months behind so hopefully you have done this by now

U could weigh down that bird bath with stones and put one of those solar floating fountains in it to keep the water nice

I have a large bird bath on a tree stump for the birds and a smaller one on the ground for the critters.
If you ever see any gas works going on in your area ask them for some plastic gas pipe it’s just the same but yellow
You really cheer me up Emma! I’m not growing brassicas or spuds this year as too many pests about! It’s just such a faff netting everything then it has to be taken back to weed 🤬🤬🤬
You can make one of those trays a bee drinking station. Just put pebbles in it and fill with water
Nice finds if you somehow take off the top of the toilet it will make it lighter also quick tip the stems on garlic are flat and onion stems are round time to get broad beans in before the frost happy gardening Richard x

Wondering if that wood folding chair frame, would work to set the bird bath on it?

You missed the rusty coal scoop. Would make a great planter

I came here to say this too. Totally agree swap the short one to the end 😁
Emma, use longer canes to put your blue pipe on if you need them taller. X
Sorry about the loo. Maybe dismantle it because you could put a trellis in it and grow sweet "pees" 😅see what I did there? Lol
I do love the idea of sunflowers at the bottom near the dead hedge.
Good episode ❤
Einstein loves your company. ❤
I just love the way you save stuff,I do the same.

Love watching you.

Hiya Emma. Why don't you use the wooden frame you found where the toilet is to rest the bird bath on? Your allotments are looking great! Welldone you, you've put some real graft in there. X

You are a joy Emma
You could grow lettuce in your shady beds. They don't mind a bit of shade and it will stop them bolting in the summer
For the bird bath, put some pebbles/stones down one end, for the bees and other pollinators, they’ll get a drink and won’t drown
🐝 Thanks for the great video 🌻
Looking awesome Emma!
FYI garlic likes/needs full sun, so might struggle in that shady bed. But see what happens! Who knows 🙂
Hi Emma
Allotment coming on great
All ur work is paying off
Well done u
Carnt wait to see u planting
hi emme, i suggest you to go if you can buy the 2 ikea tool kit, they are very well made not too much pricey ( in belgium it's 20€ for one) in the first a hammer a pliers a multi niçt screwdriver ...and in the second one you have a lil drilling/screwing machine you can charge in your house! with all the work you've done alone, you can "invest" in some assisant tool! good job by the way !!!
Your new plot looks fantastic Emma X
Maybe use one of those bird baths for a drip tray?
The bird has got very comfortable being near you. He would probably eat from your hand. When you talk to him he tweets back at you.
You are doing brilliantly! I avoid Wickes as they are controversial on women's rights . Good luck ❤
That blue pipe, we used it like you did, just genius. And why in the world is pvc pipe so expensive anyway? That stuff is a great alternative
Hi Emma. I can't believe you left the broken glass on the ground, especially when there's foxes and other animals around. I know you didn't dump it, but it really needs to be lifted.
It's not really her responsibility to lift the glass, like you said she didn't leave it there.
I agree I wouldn't pick up dirty broken glass. That I don't leave there I would be too worried about cutting myself and getting sepsis.
@@paulinebyrne1321You wouldn't get sepsis if you had leather gloves on and used a litter picker to lift it.
@@countryview2020 oh yes that's so true👍
I was gonna ask why you don't screw your beds together properly and then you said you might soon. Honestly, it would drive me absolutely bonkers not having them screwed together. I'm a bit OCD and would be having panic attacks over it haha.
Hey Emma. Would the chair frame (around 4:49') be a good surface to set up the bird bath?
A hammer and nails would be handy in your plot. ❤
Take the two bolts off of the toilet and bring it in two pieces
Shame about the toilet but your plots are looking great!
❤❤❤❤❤
Talking about the toilet, is a lou you can use if you need on the allotment site? :D
unscrew the top of the toilet

I would have swore you had planted garlic already in the long bed on the new plot
you look a bit flushed messing around with that toilet good job you didn't get it it will make the plot a bit boggy
