Weah was good but I guess he's not #1 because at the national level he didn't win any silverware. I know he sponsored their national team back in the days during the war. However, winning a tournament with his country, would have ranked him better.

He's hasn't played in a common mere nation's cup. It's a disrespect to African players who actually played in African continental football to name someone who played football in a less competitive Era, their best player, for winning a popular contest balon d or. It's total disrespect. Etoo played in a tougher Era, and won alot more than weah. At club level and international. Etoo took a relegated team mayorca to win a Copa d ray. Also, it's not about how titles or many goals, it's about levels in the pitch and for me Prime Abedi Ayew (Pelé) and Prime Weah were better by far compared with Eto'o, even Roger Milla was at same level that Eto'o and can be compared more fairly cuz both were playing for same nation.

George weah is not close to Etoo in football. In international and club. A popularity contest balon d or is not enough to magically make you the best African player ever. Etoo is a overall more completed player. He scored more goals, and did more for club and country. All you George weah fans have is a balon d Or. Nothing else. Etoo is far better than George weah.
