I don't care what anyone says, this was a highly misunderstood and underrated console. It deserved more respect. I had so much fun, made so many memories with this console. I still don't get why it had hate.

The last first party title that was released on the Wii U was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which was released as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch on March 3rd, 2017, the same year the Wii U was discontinued. Nintendo’s bad business decision of trying to be more portable with the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, given the success of the original Game Boy in comparison to the Famicom (Family Computer), also called the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), is what also doomed the Wii U in the first place. And I think Nintendo is the prime suspect here.
Loved the Wii U menu and how it was so relaxing and how it interacted with the community now we have a screen with a row of games with absolutely no personality at all

I sold my Wii U about 3 years ago, right around when the switch came out. All my previous data was wiped, lost to the deleted realm of technology. I am now extremely nostalgic and I'm planning on buying a Wii U. There are a couple of walls ahead of me, but who knows, I might finally be able to relive my memories.
Same man. Sold my Wii U back in 2017. Bought an Xbox One instead. Biggest mistake. It had all my virtual console games on it and all my game saves and Miis. Luckily the eshop is still open so in case you rebuy the Wii U you can still rebuy all your old games. Good luck on buying one!
God I remember loving the shit out of my Wii U Everyday I would get on and play splatoon from sunrise to sundown Eventually I got other games like Super Mario 3D world and Pikmin 3 and 2 But splatoon was always my favorite of the bunch I miss being 8

Yea the Wii U menu was sooo good ! Even the 3DS had amazing menu with custom themes. I have no clue why we still don't have themes on Switch or at the very least a background music. Also the Switch Eshop is so garbage it looks like a 7 year old photoshop work. Nintendo went really lazy on the Switch UI. At least the games are amazing

I gave away my wii and Wii U back in 2018 and I really regret it. It had all my good games on there. Got my wii in 2012 and Wii U in 2013. I would always stay up late playing Mario kart 8 online, super Mario 3D world, new super Mario bros u, sonic, Disney infinity, and smash bros. The switch will never have that special feeling like the wii and Wii U did as much as I like the switch. Maybe this is because the Wii and Wii U (and 3ds) were a big part of my childhood. 😭🙂

Yeah, it's really cool even though I never had one. Lol. I was thinking of making my own version of the Wii U with the Wii pen and drawing board, a portable charger for the U and pen, and a custom Mii doll with sensory and joints. Ya know, like a mix of Barbie made to move, and Squeaky(sorry if I spelled it wrong) the balloon dog, except the doll is still possible when on and you can feed and play with it in both real life and in the U console.
Bro the switch just goes straight into games it doesn’t have that extra love put into it, the wii U has a whole world as its menu they could have at least given it cool menu music this design should have stayed forever its so clean and new looking its UI is the best

This is so nostalgic. There was literally an entire world inside the Wii U that could suck you in where you could spend your lifetime in without a sense of time and it was amazing. The Wii U gave you a home environment where you could feel comfortable, secure and relaxed. The Switch is so depressing and soulless, only showing you the games you have and that's it😢 Where did the magic of this world go???

Its a shame the Wii U flopped hard… I still nostalgia it every time i hear the music or just see the menu. I regret myself for putting a tortilla chip in the disc halfway through the Wii U's lifeline. (which did not allow me to play disc games on it) I wish i could go through time and stop little me for putting that tortilla chip in there? A list of games i remember i had on the menu before we moved in 2020: Wii U: Super Smash Bros Wii U - I have Ultimate though. Wii Sports Club - Couldnt they have made atleast 2 games free like they did on the Wii U? And no. we didnt have the other 3 games. Wii: The only game i think i had was that free game which was basically gnomes or something i dont rember the name of it. We didnt take it with us though. Well, i wonder what that Wii U is doing now. It might be sitting there back at that bedroom. Given to someone else (most likely) or disposed (less likely) Man. i miss those times. They should atleast make a celebration for the Wii U. to make the Switch Menu look similar to the Wii U. We never even managed to get that chip out before we moved out. Nintendo WIi U eres grande y aunque fuiste una consola no muy comprendida eras la cúspide de poder jugar los juegos de las consolas de las generaciones pasadas y me gusta muchísimo su menú ya que el de la Switch no se ustedes pero es muy precaria y ni siquiera contiene canciones de fondo en el menú algo que caracteriza a nintendo

También me encantó la wii u, siempre fué mi anhelo tenerla antes, durante y después de su lanzamiento, jamás la tuve pero me ha cautivado, algún día la tendré y aunque para Nintendo haya sido un gran fracaso, siempre les agradeceré por haberla creado

The menu itself takes like 50% of the Wii U ram which is 2gb,while Switch's Ram is like 4gb And like the menu just takes some Few Mbs From the Ram,Making the switch to run way better certain Heavy Games Unlike the Wii U

I had 2 Nintendo DS one of them are broke, I have a Nintendo 3DS, I still play with it like everyday, and I have a Wii that i haven't used for a year now
I've got GBA,DS Phat, DS lite, 3DS, Wii, Wii U and there working fine.
I got a Wii since 2013, got a 2DS Zelda Edition since 2016 and got my Switch since 2019. I hacked my Wii so much lmao
