Wii to Wii U transfer (The whole thing...at least I think it is)

- Minus actually inserting the card :
9:01 ~ 13:37 (Animation from Wii to SD card)
15:25 ~ 24:32 (Animation from SD card to Wii U)
Made this because I want to be the odd one (and I'm probably not) to show the entire process plus the animation.
Had my Wii since launch day if anyone's curious.
And just in anyone isn't able to tell and wants to know for whatever reason (but you could probably tell from the not smoothness of the video), it runs at 30fps, the transfer animation. There, I wasted about 4 seconds of your time by you reading this, in fact you don't even have to keep reading this at all just watch the video. Seriously don't bother I have nothing else interesting to say....well I had turkey sandwich with some tomatoes...that was good, and some tea...but that's about it...yeah that's it....oh and I got tackled by my dog. - Ігри

TheLennyLegoShow Just watch this while updating/
The pikmin's are also transferring things in 3ds system transfer too!
Windows 8.1 f*cked up my computer
Nicky Pickles I used to have Windows 8 and it SUCKED!!! I currently am using 8.1 and it's not as bad as 8 but it's still pretty bad. I will probably go 10 here very soon.
***** I know Windows is giving 10 away for free to all Windows 8 users (it's WIndows's apology note for how crappy Windows 8 was, they know they messed up, really hard). I have yet to update to it though. Heard is was pretty good, better than 8 or 8.1
Only Nintendo could make something as dull and routine as a system data transfer into a cute, unique and (dare I say it) emotional experience.

I like how when they "land" in the Wii U, the area is so much more spacious and speckled with details than the old Wii, where it had narrow halls and simple looking backgrounds. It's like when you go from a small international airport (for example, LaGuardia in NY), to a giant one (like the Incheon airport in Korea).
True, the Wii looks way more cramped here compared to the spacious WiiU
The Wii U had a bunch of 0's and 1's just like binary data where as the Wii was like an underground subway or something
Very well said. It must’ve felt like a long international flight from the Wii to the Wii U for the Pikmin. But for them, it’s business as usual transfering data.
I love how it is the pikmin that transfer your data. As if they had been there all along, working inside your console, making it run.

Somehow, this process makes me feel extremely satisfied. Nintendo did a perfect job of making even the simplest of tasks, such as taking data from the wii and putting it into an SD Card, and make it extremely Sweet, perhaps even beautiful, but that is stretching it. I couldn't help but feel a bit sad when I transferred my data over. I'm almost 16 so I kinda grew up with the Wii. I had a ton of memories with my cousins on it. Whether it be Mario Kart Wii, Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Galaxy, Lego Rockbandor any other game even on the DS Lite such as Pokemon Pearl/Diamond, Mario Kart DS, and so many others...I had the time of my life playing, unlocking stuff, completing stuff, competing and having a great time. Watching those games be transferred with this music almost made me regret transferring even though there was no reason to. I truly think those years have been the best in my life. I thank the Wii, DS, Nintendo, and my cousins for that. This animation helped me relive all of those memories...

Nintendo should bring back these animations and transfer data from the Wii U to the Nintendo Switch
Nintendo: *we need f l o w e r s*
@@abandonedchannel1010 Well that didn’t happen so hopefully Nintendo will release a Switchi (like DSi) / Switch Pro / New Switch (like New 3DS) / Switch U (like Wii U) in 2023-2025 that’ll replace the Switch and will have the ability to run games in 4K HDR and it’s a whole new system like from Wii to Wii U.
The transfer could be like this.
2012-2006 = 6 years, Wii was 6 years old when the Wii U released in 2012 so in 2023 the Switch will also be 6 years old so Nintendo could release a new Switch.
@@armeniancrusader301 Nintendo said the switch is halfway through its lifespan in 2022. I'd expect 2025-2027.
@@whycantihaveaproperusernam9384 And I hope the next console will be a home console like the Wii U and Wii capable of 4K and HDR in 2025-2027 wich would be taking cards like the Switch and DS consoles and would be backwards compatible with Switch like how the 3DS is backwards compatible with DS. With 256-512GB storage, similar power to the PS4 Pro and the size of the Wii U console.
I remember when I first got my Wii, on my 8th birthday - my father told me a few days ago that he waited for 2 hours outside of our local Toys R' Us to ensure that he would get one. He and my mother hid it under my blankets (likely by my request, I sort of forgot).
It's been a thrill playing on my Wii. Playing Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, NSMB Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2...as well as probably tons more. But now, my Wii's passed its prime. The black soft thing around the disk tray fell off a few years ago, so now the disk tray is filthy. I mainly used it for Amazon and Netflix at that point, and now my mother had packed it and its accessories away in a box, safe and sealed.
I plan on doing this transfer tomorrow. The data needs a better place to be. And when all is said and done I'll be putting the Wii stuff back in the box - and putting it back in my blankets for the night. Just how it was when I first got it. Whether it's emptied or not, I still plan on doing one thing even if it doesn't even function anymore.
I will keep it forever.

Only Nintendo could make a very detailed animation for such a simple process.
The transfer somehow managed to sit on 90% for 2 whole minutes...
Scratch137Gaming Probably because it needs to finish the animation. Depending on the SD card's read/write speed, everything might've already finished at that 90% mark. Could be wrong through and there might also be other factors alongside card speed. I'm pretty sure my theory might kinda spoil the magic of the process, though.
The transfer software runs on Internet Explorer, obviously.
@@MrQuinnzard no a old opera version because the internet channel runs on opera
That is such an unreasonable amount of effort to justify waiting around for 15 minutes for the whole thing to complete xD

Wii and Wii U are basically same in hardware,so it makes sense.
Fabio Costa pikmins are aliens also this is Nintendo logic is not something you put in a Nintendo game
But then again, what do we know about the habitability of the Pikmins' normal homes?
As a software engineer, I can say, that this is how data transfer works behind the scenes. The only difference is that Nintendo exposed it how it works. I can ashure you they put 3000 pickmin on an sd card.

I'm saying this now: this era was when Nintendo truly peaked. I'm just saddened that these are just days long gone by, and we'll never be able to experience them ever again. What a shame, really.
Granted it was a lot more charming than the Switch but I don’t know about peaked? It was the Wii U.
The Wii U was the best console, it just failed due to horrible marketing
not exactly. it might be one of the best nintendo consoles right now to mod for emulation and homebrew minus the switch, but back then, people just felt like it was a letdown for what it is. aside from the disastrous marketing, compared to the wii the wii u menu was less responsive, and the gamepad, while innovative, was the catalyst for sibling fights because nintendo didn't even bother to add another one (though of course that will drive up the cost).
@@TheLogreal big disagree. However, it was full of charm that the switch is devoid of. I really hope they bring back the fun of the 3ds/wii U system...
