The shots of The Glenlee, Riverside Museum are taken from the banks of the Clyde on the Govan side of the water. It's the view from Govan across the water. A little known fact "From the nineteenth century, Partick was part of Govan parish and therefore in Renfrewshire."
Definitely a nice wee trip down memory lane for me, I used to go to Elderpark library on a Saturday morning as a lad, on the way at the end of Elderpark street there was a shop that sold quality toy soldiers which I used to buy with my pocket money, I also remember the library having two imposing busts on entry, I actually ended up spending a lot of time in my apprenticeship working on Elderpark street on the renovations, It’s good they never blitzed the whole area like some parts of Glasgow, another lasting mem is going down to Govan Cross for the Govan Fair , does anyone know if they still do that ?
good stuff,if you look to the left of William Pearces right hand you will notice the wee cat on the wall of the Building ,another great Govan story there.
Good of you to show The Riverside Museum and Glenlee which isn't in Govan but in Partick in The Westend.
