    When Punk left in 2014, I said he'd be back one day. They all come back. Warrior, Bruno, Bret, Goldberg. Even Sting went to WWE. It just keeps happening.

      You are absolutely correct!!! If Bret could come back and mend fences with HBK, anything is literally possible! I didn’t think we’d see Punk come back this way, but I absolutely love it!

    Great video my brotha !!!! My take on the return of Punk is that it was a great move by WWE 💯especially on the business side of it. He puts butts in seats, sells crazy merch & causes loud reactions from the fans. Plus he’s damn good in the ring so why not sign him back!!

    I'm not the kind of guy who analyzes wrestling and tries to predict what happens next. But after watching this video, I really sat and thought about the stories we could see now that Punk is back and I'm excited! I hope they don't just throw him into the Sami, Jey, Cody, Seth, Drew, Judgment Day mess. I know Cody is feuding with Nakamura now but still. My point is give Punk something fresh. Give him a faction. Use him to elevate guys like Ciampa and Gargano. With a little time, I think that could be a decent group

    • @ekwrestling
      @ekwrestling  Рік тому +1

      Bro, I honestly love the way you think!!! As much as I’m in the deep rabbit hole of the IWC, I haven’t seen this pitched before!!! What a great idea!!! Man, if he spent some time with DIY, that would do wonders for them getting over on the main roster. The possibilities are really endless with Punk! As long as they don’t have him take Cody’s spot at Mania, I’m excited for whatever comes next!!!

      @ekwrestling The thing that bugs me about the idea of Cody taking the belt off Roman at Mania 40 is that, at that point, Roman would only be about 160 days from beating Hogan's record of 1,474 days and becoming the third longest reigning world champion. I'm a numbers guy so stuff like bother me. For example, I was pretty upset when Betty White died but what made it worse for me was the fact that she passed a week before her 100th birthday. She was so close!! 😭
      After passing Hogan, Roman would have to hold the belt for another two years just to get the number two spot, which just isn't going to happen. There aren't enough guys on the roster and this story has gone on way too long as it is. But I do think they'll keep this reign going just so Roman can get that last, realistically achievable feat before dropping the title to Cody at Mania 41. (I also think Jey needs to have another Bloodline feud before Roman drops the belt.) With Punk returning, there are now a lot of things WWE can do to keep Cody and Roman busy until M41. I spent a lot of time fantasy booking this but I'll try to keep it as short as I can...
      PRE-MANIA
      First, Judgment Day drops the tag titles to the Creed Brothers after an interference from JD McDonough goes wrong and costs Finn and Damien to lose the belts. (Finn takes the pin.) After the match, Damien kicks JD out of Judgment Day but Finn tries sticking up for JD because Damien cost Finn his match with Seth for the WHC earlier this year and he was able to forgive Damien, so he thinks they should give JD another chance. But Damien points out that JD is the one who got pinned at War Games and is therefore proving to be a weak link in the group and has to go. Finn sides with JD and leaves the group to form their own team. Later that night, Dom and Damien attack Finn and JD for going against them and they're written off TV.
      The Creed Brothers go on to be fighting champions who defend their titles on Raw, NXT, and Smackdown. Unfortunately, they run into the Bloodline and go on to face Jimmy and Solo at Mania Night 1.
      Cody and Shinsuke's feud goes on until the Rumble. They will have two matches between now and the Rumble with promo battles, brawls, and sneak attacks filling in the gaps. They book this 50/50. The reason is so that this thing spills over into the Rumble. It'll come down to Punk and Cody as the final two, but Shinsuke will attack Cody, cost him the Rumble, and will be written off TV with a storyline injury. Punk just watches this happen and is basically handed the win. The crowd will turn on Punk because 1. They wanted Cody to win and 2. Punk didn't stop Shinsuke from attacking Cody.
      Jey and Sami will feud with Shinsuke for taking out Cody and Drew still hates Jey so he'll team with Shinsuke for about a month until Cody returns. When Cody returns, Drew and Shinsuke are at a disadvantage. But, since JD took the pin at War Games, Damien wants in on this feud to get a win over the trio of Cody, Sami, and Jey for the Judgment Day. Plus, Damien respects Drew for sticking to his plan at War Games. He got them the advantage and although they didn't pick up the win, Damien can't place that blame on Drew because he stuck to the script and didn't screw them over. This sets up a No-DQ 6-man tag at Mania Night 2.
      On Smackdown, I think we'll have the Bloodline v Randy, KO, and LA Knight leading to a match between Roman and Randy at the Rumble. And we either have Roman v Randy II at Mania Night 2 or we could possibly build up to Roman v Rock.
      MANIA AND AFTER
      The Creed Brothers will beat Jimmy and Solo clean on Night 1, but Damien runs out with Dom to cash in his MITB briefcase for the tag titles. This is cool because we've never seen someone use the briefcase to win tag championships before.
      Punk goes on to challenge Seth for the WHC at Mania Night 1 and wins due to interference from DIY (with Candace and Indi), forming a faction that will help him keep the title. On the Raw after Mania, Seth forms his own faction with Diamond Mine and Becky Lynch (who have all proven to be fighting champions much like Seth), giving us a summer full of matches we've never seen before. Seth v Ciampa, Seth v Gargano, DIY v Creed Brothers, the obvious 6-man tag, Indi and Candace v Ivy and Lynch, mixed tag matches. (After seeing Hartwell v Lynch for the NXT Women's title, I've been dying to see her used more.) And being in a story with Punk, Rollins, and Lynch will really help build up Ciampa, Gargano, LeRae, Hartwell, Nile, and the Creed Brothers as top stars.
      During the closing moments of the 6-man No-DQ match on Night 2, Finn's music hits, Finn and JD return and run out to attack Damien, Dom runs out to even the odds, but taking Damien out of the match, and leaving Drew and Shinsuke at a disadvantage. Cody, Sami, and Jey pick up the win, but after the match Jimmy and Solo attack Jey. They waited until Mania to attack because PLEs are the only time they can get at Jey without getting fined. They have not forgotten that he abandoned his Bloodline. This sets up for Dom and Damien v Finn and JD for the tag titles and, Cody and Shinsuke finally get their rubber match at Backlash.
      Whether it's Randy or the Rock, Jimmy and Solo are going to help Roman retain. This sets up Jey and Randy/Rock v Jimmy and Solo at Backlash, leading to three back to back PLEs with Jey and the Bloodline, ending with Jey v Roman at Payback. I'm thinking we do Jey v Roman at Night of Champions, ending in a DQ. Jey v Jimmy at Money in the Bank, with Jey going over. Jey and Cody v Jimmy and Solo at SummerSlam No-DQ, with Jey and Cody going over and taking out Solo and Jimmy for Jey v Roman at Payback. Still, Roman retains.
      After Cody finishes his feud with Shinsuke at Backlash, he goes on to win the MITB briefcase and teases cashing in on every champion, while aiding Jey in his battles with the Bloodline. He doesn't pull the trigger though because he knows he can't finish his story if he doesn't win the WWE title. For Roman to beat Hogan, he'll need to hold the belt until Friday, September 13. So now we start playing with the idea that Cody is purposely going to wait to cash in at Payback (which should take place the week before Roman passes Hogan) just to prevent him from beating Hogan's record. Cody waits until after Roman retains against Jey and runs down to the ring to cash-in. But instead of cashing in that night, he announces he's cashing in for a match at Mania 41.
      This means the winner of RR 2025 will automatically have to challenge Punk at Mania 41. Punk is already in a feud with Seth so the fact that Cody's decision puts another target on Punk's back pisses him off, and leads to Punk confronting Cody. Cody doesn't back down and Punk's faction jumps Cody. Seth saves Cody, making Cody an ally to Seth's faction. This would give us Punk and Roman v Seth and Cody at Crown Jewel, with the stipulation that if Cody and Seth lose that match, Seth can't challenge for the WHC as long as Punk holds the title and Cody forfeits his match with Roman at Mania 41. But if Seth and Cody win, Seth and Cody get their matches; Seth at Survivor Series and Cody at Mania. Seth and Cody win, Cody pins Roman.
      If I'm tracking WWE logic correctly, the
      men in War Games next year will primarily be from Smackdown and the women will primarily be from Raw so we could have Indi, Candace, Piper, Chelsea vs Becky, Ivy, Tegan, Natty (or Kayden and Katana). And Jimmy, Solo, Lashley, Street Profits vs Randy, Cody, Jey, KO, and LA Knight. Creed Brothers v DIY, and Seth v Punk. Seth wins back the WHC. Then the factions dissolve. DIY turn on Punk because they don't need him anymore, Becky and Ivy continue teaming for a bit (maybe they go on to feud with Zoey and Shayna), and the Creed Brothers go back to chasing tag team gold.
      Then we build to Cody v Roman at Mania 41. This way we keep Cody and Roman occupied for another year, Cody finishes his story at Mania, and Roman's reign ends at 1,680 days making him the third longest reigning world champion by a respectable 200+ day margin.

    Personally, I think a brilliant angle for Punk is to have him go vs Rollins at 'Mania for the WH title, and have Priest cash in and turn it into a triple-threat, maybe with the rest of JD helping him beat down on Punk and Seth, but Punk and Seth retake the ring and look like they're about to drive JD off, when one of them-doesn't matter who-drops the other and nails their finisher, trying to get a win while JD is outside the ring, only for JD to rush back in and Priest to get the win.
    Sets up a non-title Punk vs Seth feud, doesn't hurt either of them to lose that way, and it resolves Priest's MITB.
    And the beautiful irony of Seth losing this title the same way he won his first world title is also excellent.

    • @ekwrestling
      @ekwrestling  Рік тому

      Wow!!! I LOVE this idea!!! I’m seeing a lot of people think that Priest will fail to cash in. But I’d rather him successfully cash in. And I was struggling to think of the best way for him to cash in…but this idea is honestly perfect. Also gets them out of having Punk beat Seth
