Scratch building headers is one of the most rewarding modeling tasks one can undertake. Cheers!
Thank you Rod!! I absolutely agree!

I remember that '40. It's become quite 'iconic', I just keep seeing it everywhere! & I'm in Australia!! 🦘 Thanks for a closer look. It's great to learn more about it. Bless & take care. You're the man.👍🏼
@geoffhipwell2198 Many thanks my friend!! A fun build!!
Great build! Love those little details you put in there. Thanks for sharing.
Many thanks brother!! Fun build and great memories!
Awesome build Mark! The shifter is genius! I really like how you did the video also. I think it turned out better than following along as you build. Placing each part on a white background really helped see what you did. Well done!!!!
Thank you very much buddy!! Always appreciate the feedback!
Really cool build Mark! Love the old gassers and you nailed the period look perfectly. I always appreciate the detail you put into your engines. Another great model, thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much my friend!! Love this era of NHRA.
Have a great week!!
Love these old fat fendered Fords. Great build, cheers from Nova Scotia...
Thank you very much my friend!! Me too!
Sweet build. I remember seeing it when you were in Roanoke. Keep building! God bless you!

Another beauty! And thanks for the tip, literally, for sanding down the plastic pin head in your dremel. SMH, never thought of that one! Thanks for blessing us with your talent.

Thank you buddy!! Truly appreciate it!!
Great lookin build sir. I love how the scratch built headers dump out under the fender and behind the front wheel.the battery box and moon tank look great! The steelie wheels with the pro tech lugs look great
Big thanks brother!! Appreciate it! I had fun with this one!
Gotta love looking back at what you built in the past and making it better with the skills you have acquired. Although i think you were born with a uncanny ability to build awesome models lol. Thanks for sharing bud
Beautiful build! I love those old gassers. Maybe sometime you could do a tutorial on making headers? They really look great! Bless you
Thanks brother!! Yes sir, excellent video idea indeed!
Appreciate it my friend!
Yes please. You say they're .080 rod. OK, that's 2". Appropriate primary tube header size for a big block. How you shaped them is my question.
Now that’s cool!
Layer upon layer of detail draws me in to look more closely. Thank for sharing.
Cheers, Graham
Thank you very much Graham!! Appreciate it buddy!!
Have a great and blessed week!!

@@MarkBatsonHobbydude007, I'm basically talking about these instructional videos, on how you did this-that & the other with the build. Mark I tell ya buddy I just LOVE those kinds of videos. They're SO cool and helpful for a builder! Gives you MANY great ideas. God bless you brother, talk to you soon!
@jeffyoung8726 Yes sir, many thanks again bud!
Nice work Mark. I'd like to see it when the restoration is done.
Thanks buddy!! Oh I’m sure I’ll post something when it’s done!
Built a 40 coupe and working on a 37 delivery now; thanks for the tips. The 40 was a enjoyable build and fit up good. I'm leaning towards more early builds than later because of the easier fitment or maybe it's me. Anyway as always thanks for your contribution to the hobby.
Thank you very much my friend!! Appreciate it! Have fun!!!

Big thanks buddy!! Appreciate it!
Mark, I keep going back to the 1st picture from the pits at the drag races. While you kept talking about a 39 or 40 Tudor sedan. I find a pair of 55 Chevies, a rail with the same frame as the Mooneyes, a 30/31 Ford coupe altered, and a Chevy pickup. Hmmm 😎 Yeah, I have 2 Revell 40 coupes, an AMT 40 coupe, and an AMT 39/40 Tudor all near the top of the build stack. I'd sure like to see Revell do a 39/40 Ford Woody. Their chassis is so much better than the 60 year old AMT tooling.
I'm not complaining about AMT. I have a 40 Sedan Delivery that I built in 1963 at the top of my display case. Gasser painted yellow with Chiquita Banana stickers 🍌🍌🍌 on the doors for sponsor. And another in a separate case that Tom Walsh gave me at a show at the NHRA museum. He built it as a tribute to Tom Beatty and his speed record holding Bonneville push truck. I talked to Mr Walsh during the show about that push truck and the belly tank as Tom Beatty was my dad's best friend from the mid 1940s to the mid 1960s. Like a story of walking to the front door of the shop past Tom Beatty's 2 40 Ford Sedan Deliveries and one of them I could see through the body rust and see the building on the other side. Several other anecdotes and a few pictures I had in my phone were shared. Tom Walsh Senior (did not attend as at 94 years he was not ip to the show) had scratch built an incredible large scale model of Beatty's belly tank. So as the show was picking up, Tom jr. gave me his 40 Sedan Delivery!!!!!!!!😮😮😮😮
So yeah. I like 40 Fords....😎
Your blue Tudor is a peach. Beautiful work. I intend to build one of my coupes in a similar manner. With injector stacks on soe sortvof big block. Probably a Ford. Might be Buick/Olds/Pontiac/Cadillac or 392 Hemi. The exhaust HAS to go from underneath. I agree with the Moon tank and battery in the trunk. Often saw that in the day.
Thank you very much Richard!! Yes sir, love those 39-40 fords!!
Wow, you have some awesome experiences and memories bud!!!
I appreciate you sharing them with us!
Great memories from the cars in the pits for me as well! I fondly remember several cars every week we were at the strip! Anglias, Tri-fives, funny cars, the early short rails……….
Thanks again!! Have a great week!!!
BTW, LOVE the Chiquita Banana idea!
Nice
Thank you Terry!!
Not only is the battery in the trunk, the positive cable is closest to the aluminum fuel tank. Just like my real '36 Chevy coupe. To be changed soon!
Thanks brother!! Appreciate ya watching! Your 36 sounds like a cool rod!
Great build 👏 love it, loose the shades, can't see the eye's
Thank you my friend!! Some of my intros are done in the morning at the picnic table with my coffee. I am facing the sun and I am sun sensitive. It beats squinting! Lol!
Have a great week!!
Great looking 40, Mark! I'm currently working on a 40 Coupe. Racking my brain on a paint scheme now. Bought flame masks for it from Iceman Collections. Wanna paint it candy red, just struggling on the color of the flames. Smdh
Thank you very much brother!!
Sounds like you have a really cool hot rod in the works too! Love Candy Reds. I agree, flame color combos is not easy to come up with. Have fun buddy and share pix when it’s done!!
I will. I'll post it on my channel too!
@1968fordman Awesome!
My understanding is that “Gasser” is/was a class of drag car. Why are the front ends so high up? I never understood that. 🤔 That’s a beautiful model. I’ve always liked the older, classic cars. I especially like your engine work. Peace and love.
Thanks buddy!! Yes sir, Gasser was a class. My Uncle ran on the “C”/ Gas bracket. That raised front end was a thing back in the 50s and 60s. Never really understood it or cared for it myself. lol
Appreciate it buddy!!
@@MarkBatsonHobbydude007 I thought perhaps it was a way to get more cooling air into the engine compartment. 🤔 Maybe? Lol.
The reason for building the real cars with the high front end and suspension was to transfer as much weight as possible to the rear tires for traction.
@stevebaker4327 excellent Steve! Thanks buddy!!
