I finally received my order of 'Anna Karenina' and 'Dune' today, and both of these books got on my tbr by watching your vlogs of these books. Thankyou so much for making these videos. Happy reading❤.
I hope you enjoy War and Peace I thought it was a wonderful read. I have the Anthony Briggs translation on Penguin and recently bought it again in ebook format to revisit it at some point. However, as much as I enjoyed the book it comes second to The Brothers Karamazov (McDuff translation again on Penguin) which is up there as one of the best books I've read, I found it very difficult to put down. You become so involved with the characters, more so than many other books I've read. I look forward to seeing how you get on with them.
This has made me SO excited for the brothers karamazov. The anticipation just keeps building.. not sure when I'm going to get to it but I'll be sure to update this channel on it ! May give it a dedicated vlog
POINTFUL new favourite word! I feel like your list looks like the one I have i my head, in terms of genres and types of stories and authors, just with different titles :) Looking forward to reading this year! Also; Big Swiss is on my list, and I usually find romances too cringey as well, so might give Emily Henry a chance.
Recommendations: 1. Missing Person by Patrick Modiano 2. The Tunnel by Ernesto Sabato 3. Madame Edwarda by Georges Bataille 4. Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy 5. Sherlock Holmes (The Collected Works) by Arthur Conan Doyle 6. White Nights by Fyodor Dostoyevsky 7. The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov 8. First Love by Ivan Turgenev 9. Demian by Herman Hesse 10. The Sorrows of Young Werther by Goethe
I haven't read many Stephen King novels but I'd highly recommend Misery and The Green Mile. Also, not sure if you listen to musicals at all but there's one called Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 which is based on a section of War and Peace which could be a fun listen after reading the book!
Misery and The Green Mile look so good, have added them to the list. I'm getting quite worried about how getting into Stephen King is going to impact the length of my TBR but alas & oooooo I've never listened to a musical before but I am incredibly intrigued
I wouldnt worry too much about Stephen King, while he is considered the king of horror, Ive always viewed him as more of a drama writer with dark fantasy elements. His books are often hooking but Ive never really found them to be frightening (closest to come to that is the first half of rose madder.) His best novels are less about supernatural threats and more about using them to talk about real life drama issues (Pet Semetary is about Grief, The Shining is about Alcoholism, IT is about childhood trauma ect.) I respect the balls to try a new author youre unsure of by diving into his longest story yet though, good luck. If you enjoy the stand, it may be worth giving Swan Song by Dan Simmons a try as its quite similar in setup but goes in a different direction, never met someone who enjoyed the stand but didnt enjoy swan song.
This is a big relief, thank you for the lowdown. Might stay away from Rose Madder for now but it looks like I won't have any trouble staying occupied without ! Also, thank you for the luck and recommendations
I love this! My TBR is ridiculous so the idea of planning out a whole reading year is so impressive to me
I’ve intentionally left around 40% unknown spots though to leave room for madness - a method I’ll be reporting back on 🫡

Ooo you got two bigg’uns there - hope you like them! And you’re welcome, thanks for the love :)

"Spoilers don't exist if you can't remember them". Yes! 😆
I’m hoping to read 75 books this year as well! Weyward was on my TBR for this month but we’ll see if I can get to it 😆 Lots of good books here!!
Snap! And haha good luck with it. I prob won’t get to it for a while tbh! And thanks, I’m looking forward to seeing my success rate
@@RecoveringBookSnob thank you! Always fun to set a TBR even if you don’t fully stick to it 😆
