Mike MF Jackson. So happy he’s back with a corps.
Mike Jackson's writing style and Crown's horn line mix like bread and butter. Man I haven't been this hyped for a crown show ever before! CMFC!
This is like classic Mike and modern Mike meshed together. I’m here for it.
California Crown
this is my favorite comment lol
Crown playing negenacht is wild in the best way.
frrrr was not expecting them to play that warm up lol
Don’t they have Jackson now? Jackson knows the perfect warm-ups imo, they really get them loose
no offense to past crown drumlines, but I am unbelievably happy that they have the staff they do now. these guys are gonna kill it, and they're so close to where I live!
2017 and 2019s were pretty good
@@Ace_v12017 was good, but 19 never got clean
@@jordantyler148 lol whatchu talkin bout
@@jordantyler148 Where did you march? Your basement?
@@Username-.--..-.--..-.--.12310 i mean just watch a 19 video, it was a really cool book it just never got as clean as most of the other lines did
Show music starts at 13:53
Thanks for posting!
absolute legend for posting this, thank you!!
lot of faces from Monarch / BCP / Mandarins. the Mike Jackson pipelines are crazy
Maaaaaan that snare book is HOT. Such effective modern writing being performed outSTANDINGLY.
Thanks for sharing this! 🙏🏽
My pleasure!!
My Gawd that was insane !!!! Just ramming those notes yes please !!!!
Love this line and staff is one of the best
Gotta love a classic stick visual 👌🏾
Can’t wait to see the show this year 👑👑😎😎😎
Met guy grooving in the back lol. Insane book, can't wait to hear it evolve.
Yes, I am indeed grooving, grooviest book in town 🤠
I will miss crown drums but this is sick!
The rolls exercise is perfect for everything!
One of my favorite lines was SCV 06 & 07 I’m hyped for this
Thank you for STANDING STILL and getting everyone. So tired of overpanning. Well done, Zachary.
if i had a dollar for every Filipino bro on this perc staff I'd have 3 dollars. pinoy pride baby!!
I'd change this to: If I had $10,000 dollars for every Filipino bro on this perc staff, I'd have $30,000 lol 😂.Because afterall, $30,000 is much more money lol 🤣😂.
@@HE360 this prompt usually goes by nickels so i already multiplied it by x20 😆
Yo LoL 😅
It's like Mike listened to the last 5-ish years of Crown drums and took the style into account when writing this book. Suoer unique and fresh but still feels like Crown. I love it.
Really? It’s cool writing but it sounds like Mike. The most I could see is that the way the wind book is arranged might lead to some similar choices, but stylistically I just hear mj
@@ARZiehm agree with you
The warm-up packet truly is a tour through the years of Mike Jackson, I love seeing some of the classics brought back along with some of his newer exercises. Really excited to see what this line does this year, I’m a fan.
PUMPED to see Mike Jackson writing back on the field
Man, that one tenor is marking time like he's pissed off at the ground! :-) In all seriousness, I'm not a drummer but I freaking love what I'm hearing this year!
I AM LOVIGN BIG HOMIE ON TENORS!!!!!! His VIBE & intensity is giving me LIFE!!!!!! Reminds me of me when i marched in college!!! I carried that SAME ENERGY!!!! #REPfortheBigMen 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Liam. He is the tenor section leader.
@@crwnguy HE IS SO DOPE!!!!!!! Hope he sees this or someone shows it to him!! Mad respect for him!! #Salute 💪🏽💪🏽💯💯

NOICE!!
-a man of culture
A masterpiece. Call it THE ABSTRACT CROWN!
Bro said “I love this part! 😃”
Bcat is back by popular demand!! I wish they had solos but still love this new version!! Broken city will probably add solos in indoor
Ccat now i think lol
You Dave is on Cloud 9 watching this drumline and getting to learn from the Broken City Team.
thank
This is like a brand new group 🔥
crown bringing some heat
Hats off to these guys, very very impressive
Some Broken City vibes sprinkled in there and I'm her FOR IT!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 DO WORK this year 👑
I was thinking the SAME THING!!!! Like, "Isn't that Broken City's warmups???" After the 1st 2 warm-ups lol
When you write for both groups I bet it’s hard not to use similar material 😂
@@_weix Ain't that the truth! 😅😅 I have fell victim to that a MANY a times! But I do try my best to keep each group sounding different as much as possible.
@jimweixler1014 makes ABSOLUTE sense now lol!!!
Good stuff
They’re grooving like the bluecoats!
WOO! Mike Jackson!
Fucking beasts. I love it!
Bless🙏🏾
Found him
1st show jittters 🎉🎉🎉yea!!!! Shout out to the phantom Bass drummer.
i thought it was broken city, amazing❤
This is the group I'll be watching this season. I, too, haven't been this hyped about Crown since the late 2000s.
Dalé, Crown!
Oh damn, Rennick era circa 2000 was ridiculous
@@jeffe_77 It sure was. I was speaking more of the Beddis era though.
@@ggndrums Ah yes, that was a fantastic era 2006-2010.
Gonna be somethin for sure
Love the emphasis on dynamics guys. Dynamics to me are more impressive than chop chops
Mike is the KING of dynamic battery writing!
Thanks for the Vid!
I've never been a huge fan of crown's drums, but THIS is nice
this stuff looks fun to play. and everyone gettin after it. nice
such good writing. i meant to sample a minute of the book and watched the whole thing.
AMAZING!!
16:59 sheesh the cold hands caught me off guard.. so good 😂🔥
20:45
I dont get it. They playing like simple 8th notes there lol
@@marklower007 mark, do you get paid to be a hater?
@@marklower007 lol yeah they are but that specific measure that they played the eighth notes with the left hand sixteenth note in-between them are from the warm up called “cold hands” that they also play at the beginning of the video 01:32 . It was just cool for me to see the warm up exercise being interpreted in the show cuz thats what they are originally meant for. Hope that helps🙏
long live crownDRUMS
It seems like the people who write the greatest music is always named: Mike Jackson
Jared on staff? You know it's gonna be amazing
This is crown nuts.
It be cracking~
13:54 to the end changed my life fr
You know the notes are tasty when the met guy is hyped 18:01
I am very hyped
Crown about to win with newfound percussion prowess to match their brass and CG
Let go
Bill Burr techs for Crown? Bad ass!!!
Goat
East coast has never sounded more west coast
i was thinking the same thing… still haven’t figured out why.
@@zachandrory123 well the writing staff is from Broken City out in California in the WGI circuit. Totally different style of writing compared to the GMU guys from last year.
Oh my. Have mercy that’s a BA line!
✊For the algorithm
😎✊
crown doing cold hands... goddam
end snare right side in the back, was bro center snare at Etiwanda this past WGI season?
Yes
@@zachandrory123 sheesh. these kids who make top groups straight out of high school / rookie year in DCI are a different breed
I think the end snare on the right side in the front was also a snare at Etiwanda
Abel rocking a manly beard!!
The many as one..as it should be!
For The Algorithm!💪😎
😎✊
Broken city outdoor is clean this year
I saw this group in person at a lot earlier this year
Quads at 19:38, very nice comp
They look SO YOUNG WTH
it’s a young line from what i’ve heard
For the algorithm
im crying watch this 😭
18:02 beautiful gock
Hold up- wasn’t Mike Jackson at Boston in 21 to 22 or am I buggin??
Either way- THE WRITING IS NOICE THIS YEAR
Crown doing Neganacht feels so weird
Mr. McNeil content
Is this not the same warmup as Broken City? It’s cute and I remember seeing it in a WGI video 1:39
Yes bcp played the same exercise it’s called Cold Hands, the guy who wrote it is Mike Jackson and he writes for bcp and now crown
It's only June!!
Crown’s battery will look good marching Tama’s next season. 😜
People think Tama looks good?
Crown is one of Yamaha’s biggest endorsers, they’re not moving away from them if the brass line doesn’t
@@tim.noonan I was half joking, that said. People said the same about BD and Yamaha back in 1998, they switched to Dynasty. Phantom and Pearl, SCV and Pearl. To be fair to your point, the aforementioned I don't believe had a Yamaha brass endorsement.
@@jeffe_77 crown will probably stay on yamahas for the time being at least it seems. Looks likes Mike jackson loves to use yamahas and i don’t blame him he’s the one guy who can make them sound good lol but BCP switched to tama’s because of rodger which makes sense because he’s endorsed by them and bluecoats just switched to tamas this season
June! Cmon bro.....
Crown Drumline been sounding good in June for a while
@@Hunter-Drums I'm not hating or anything I'm just impressed
@@mb2268 word!
the eyebrow raises by the tenor at 10:13
he’s in there
19:57 lmfaooooo
21:10
It means
This drumline is really good!
This has a serious Steve Reich vibe to it. It’s so good.
Also, 2023 shoot drumlines still and in 60p challenge.
Is that the Avon center snare?
Yup
Matt🥰🥰🥰🥰
What is the warmup at 8:19?
SSL II good sir
@@mb2268 thx
Ie it just me or do there sticks seem odly thin
finally bolstered their drum book. bravo
Das a lot of drags
Skirts? Just asking. Does anyone know? Nice drumming and love the sound of the
Yamahas. Always a crisp and articulate offering from the snares. Very musical
throughout. Always thought Crown could win with the right drum staff, Maybe this
is it. Horns are always in the top 2 or 3. Thanks for sharing.
It acfaux chain mail shirt. There is an overlay that goes over this. This way they look like a medieval knight.
@@crwnguy Okay. When they turned around they looked like they were wearing a mini skirt from the 60's. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm apparently not up on my medieval fashion sense. 😀
This crown line isn’t even a day old ! Mike Jackson brought that pixie dust frrrr
So this year’s Crown uniforms are…miniskirts?
That is a Faux Chainmail Hauberk. They wear an overlay over this that makes them look like a midieval Knight
I'm so g[la]d that Mike Jackson is still doing DCI!
21:12
They calling it Cat?
CCat
they're legit playing all these exercises better than BCP and that line was very seasoned
Pretty bold statement as it's not like you can pull up any vids if BC not playing those exercises flawless. But at the same time its expected. Indoor is a weekend activity rehearsal wise. Dci get to play everyday all day. Of course you gonna be cleaner
Could be the camera angle, but why is the left side of the snare section leaning over? Like they're trying to get their left wrists down too far relative to the playing surface. Looks super uncomfortable.
