I wanted to share something that you've inspired and that IS WORKING amazingly well! Trying to replicate your Long Method, I started my plants in a nutrient solution of rain water, Clonex, and a water-soluble root stimulator. But here's a tweak I made that I believe has exponentially increased the chances of saving my rotting Alocasias: Once I saw new roots developing, I started adding Lechuza Pon (is all I have) to the container. Every few days, I freshen the nutrient solution and add a bit more of the substrate. Little by little, the ratio of liquid solution to rocky surround has decreased, and the plants are now at a height in the container in which the roots are no longer fully submerged---the pon is actually wicking the nutrient up to the plants, as it should, and the roots are acclimatized and functioning in a healthy, efficient way. It took about 5-6 weeks altogether, but with this long and steady approach, I've been able to heal the root rot my Alocasias were succumbing to, and I'm getting new leaves even while I'm still in the middle of winter! What do you think? Would it be wise to experiment with other types of plants? I really think starting in all hydro and slowly increasing the amount of substrate makes for a gentle-but-effective transition! If you try it my tweak, please let me know how it works for you. I appreciate all you share and all you've taught "us", your audience!

Hi sunshine; love this video to help me get started with this process. i cant seem to find your mixture of the two liquid formulas. thank you so much. :)
Hello, thank you for such informative videos! i am just wondering about your ratio for clonex clone and root zone. Do you simply follow instructions on the bottle to dilute with water? Only asking because i have followed the ratio suggested on the bottles but my special sauce is SO much darker than your one 😬
So appreciative of all your detailed 'how to' videos. I haven't been able to find GT Root Zone anywhere (I can't even find it on the GT website). Any similar recommendations? Thanks again!
Do you know of any similar products to the GT root zone please? Or perhaps details of what it is designed to assist with ? It seems it is still not available here in Australia 🤷🏼♀️
Does anyone know the correct "recipe" for the solution mix in the gallon jug? I followed the bottle's instructions for each but my solution is dark compared to hers.
Hi LQ I’m only able to find clonex root gel - can I use this without cutting the roots off? Im doing the long method but with clonex clone right now, the plants are doing fine, I’m just wondering how much of a difference root zone will make?
Do you have any advice in transferring a plug plant into semi hydro? I have a beautiful lemon lime maranta that I purchased a few weeks ago and I can’t find any info online whatsoever on converting to semi hydro. I’m assuming I would need to remove the plug.
I almost always get very small plants nd they have plug. I simply remove them from the plug very gently, it helps to use a house and a relatively high pressure setting and then put the plant in leca or nutrient solution.

Nora, question/comment. I have a ficus I e had in solution for a few weeks now and it doesn’t seem to be growing water roots though it’s still alive. Any suggestions?
It depends on how much the water roots have grown. Some plant roots grow faster than others so hard to give a firm time period. I always look for sizeable secondary roots. If I am not sure I leave it there for a few more weeks.

I hope you don't mind me answering but yes the water will have its own supply of oxygen but if you add the air stone that will enhance the oxygen exchange and be even more of a benefit.

@@TheLecaQueen Woah! How it's grown!!!!! i watched the reel 1st thing in the morning and cant believe its the same plant😆 Next time I'm visiting my bro I'll pop in 😉👌🏼
@@ConnieP92 it's a date!
thank you for the thorough explanation as always. was wondering if you had any tips for zz specifically. i was hoping to transition mine to leca but am worried about rot as many people seem to have this issue. thanks again
This madenme chuckle! Hope your questions were answered.
Hi Nora, have watched this over and over as i'm going to transtion my Calathea Orbifolia and Makoyana into LECA using this method. Since Root Zone isn't available yet, do you think it'll be OK to just use CCS? Thanks for the step by step video...I feel confident 💪😅
CCS only will work very well. I have used it without rootzone and it worked beautifully 😍
Sweet🤩 Can’t wait!!!! Thanks so much 😊
What are the measurements for the liquid/ long soaking solution in this video please and would Seasol work just as well?
Hi, it's really fascintating. Sorry since i'm not english i might not asking the question right but i thought the stem (the part just above the main root) was supposed to be protected from water stgnation? Is it only when in soil?
Can it be put directly in water without problems ?
Hi sunshine; love this video to help me get started with this process. i cant seem to find your mixture of the two liquid formulas. thank you so much. :)
Thank you. Root zone is not yet available for sale.
Love this video thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
If I don't have the ingredients you use for the long method, can I use the mix made for hydroponics?
Hello, thank you for such informative videos!
i am just wondering about your ratio for clonex clone and root zone. Do you simply follow instructions on the bottle to dilute with water? Only asking because i have followed the ratio suggested on the bottles but my special sauce is SO much darker than your one 😬
So appreciative of all your detailed 'how to' videos. I haven't been able to find GT Root Zone anywhere (I can't even find it on the GT website). Any similar recommendations? Thanks again!
You're welcome! Root Zone is not yet commercially available. It will be early next year. Maybe mycorrhizal products you can find.
Where do you get those cute trellis?
Didn’t see them on Amazon
Hopefully some thing we can get in the US??
Thank you. Try these:

Hi just wondering Have you ever done a Christmas cactus is leca ?
Not yet!
Do you use full strength diluted solutions or do you use one half strength in your rooting transitions.
Thank you. ☺️
I use the week solution which is 5ml per litre.
@@TheLecaQueen thank you. That helps a great deal. (I’m still a little insecure. Lol
Am a new subscriber 🥰 your vids are really helpful 🥰👍🎉
Thank you for your kind words and for watching and subscribing, much appreciated!
I can never get my roots as clean as yours!
As long as they are clean enough. I use pressure from water using a hose.
Hello Nora 👋👋👋👋
When you make the solution, are you saying it's only solution with no water added at all or is it mixed with water?
Mixed with water.
@@TheLecaQueen Got it! Thanks for replying back...
Do you know of any similar products to the GT root zone please?
Or perhaps details of what it is designed to assist with ?
It seems it is still not available here in Australia 🤷🏼♀️
Hello, I respond to your question in my Q & A session out on the 8th of June.
If you don’t have rootzone could you use foliage focus or even just water to get some water roots before moving to leca?
How long did it take to clean the roots.? Perfect!
Not long at all with the hose.
Sooo good❤❤
Thank you🌷💚🙃
You are so welcome
Can I use GT Formulex and GT Clonex Mist concentrate instead?
Does anyone know the correct "recipe" for the solution mix in the gallon jug? I followed the bottle's instructions for each but my solution is dark compared to hers.
Don't worry about the colour, a lot of the colours get mixed up when seen on screen so I would not worry about that.
@@TheLecaQueen thank you for your reply. Very helpful.
Question 🙋♀️ do you mix the solution with water or is it completely solution only when you place it in the jar? Thank you so much 😊
I make a dilution of the nutrients as per manufacturer instructions.
Is there a similar nutrient solution i can use? I can not find this product in US. Thank you so much, I love your very informative videos!
I don't know of anything similar in the US. Grwoth Technology are working hard to get products into the US. In the meantime you can purchase here:

@@TheLecaQueen thank you so much! I really appreciate your response and help!
Any recommendations if we can’t get growth technology? I currently have an indoor fertilizer by Jacks and superthrive foliage pro.
I don't know about Jacks but foliage pro works too!
@@TheLecaQueen Thank you so much! Trying to save my Thai. I’ve had it a year. Only two leaves. And tiny roots. Pot was WAY too big that I was given. Propping her back into water for a bit. Praying she can be saved.
Would u recommend doing this with seedlings? I’m buying a small plant and was wondering if i should wait it out or not x
It depends on the plant and how small it is. I generally move my small plants.
How much of clonex clone and how much root zone do i add to 5 liters of water.. Thank you
HI Nora..Ive been searching for GT root zone but cant find it anywhere! Have Growth technology stopped making it?
Root Zone is a new product that is not yet available to the general public. It will be soon .
@@TheLecaQueen Ahh, ok..Il keep an eye our for it..thanks 🙂
I don't think we have root zone in the US, can I just use the clonex?
Yes you do, see link in description or here: Growth Technology Products - Use code “Thelecaqueen” for 10% off

Nora, question/comment. I have a ficus I e had in solution for a few weeks now and it doesn’t seem to be growing water roots though it’s still alive. Any suggestions?
Have you tried a rooting hormone? I would try that. Some plants take a really long time to root so if it is still alive fabulous!
@@TheLecaQueen I didn’t. I will try that. I went ahead and put it in leca. It’s still alive at the moment. Just not really growing.
Can this be done to a peperomia?
How long are they in the solution before moving into leca
It depends on how much the water roots have grown. Some plant roots grow faster than others so hard to give a firm time period. I always look for sizeable secondary roots. If I am not sure I leave it there for a few more weeks.
Can I try it with Alocasia Cuprea? Which way is the right with us? I can’t bu sure 🙄

@@TheLecaQueen Thanks a lot 🥹 I can’t find all the night. I’m falling in love with your videos and your energy 🫠 I can’t find any information about leca in Istanbul ❤️💋
Will it be ok to use just the clonex clone solution until the root zone becomes available to purchase, or do you recommend another additive? Thank you so much for all of your videos, I am learning a great deal 😊
Yes, absolutely! I used CCS alone for a long time. It works beautifully!
@@TheLecaQueen awesome, thank you for getting back to me, much appreciated
Can you do it with the peperomia plants?
Yes you can have them living in leca
ARRRGGGHHH!!! I wish this video had come out 2 weeks ago before I tried swapping a lot of my plants over to leca and nutrient solution… I’ve lost some of my beautiful, lush plants. Some are looking really sad. Luckily all my Alocasias seem to have transitioned well.
Glad it was helpful! Better late than never! I have so much I want to share but so little time to do it.
@@TheLecaQueen
Unfortunately I’m having heaps of problems with root rot with transferring them over. Hopefully I won’t lose them completely. I really want them to be happy!!
Oh dear. Not cool. How can I help?
Maybe I should have done that. I bought all of your supplies you use and followed your step by step guide and started putting a few plants in LECA at a time. I noticed my silver sword wasnt looking too good tonight. I switched it Saturday. I watered the moss pole and added some more solution/water mix to the cache pot. The plant looked dehydrated 😔. I hope it bounces back because I grew that from a baby to a beautiful full specimen. Im not discouraged yet just hopeful I don't have a lot of plants die lol
I am sorry to hear that. But you have to stay the course. You will be a better plant parent for it!
Is the root zone the same as root riot? The website shows the root riot
How did you get your plants so shiny ?
I use a neem oil solution to clean leaves and discourage pests.
I can't find Rootzone
I hear they say the roots need oxygen and to buy an air pump. How are you able to completely submerged the roots? Are they still getting oxygen? Thank you!
I hope you don't mind me answering but yes the water will have its own supply of oxygen but if you add the air stone that will enhance the oxygen exchange and be even more of a benefit.
I do not mind at all, and you are right. I do have a short where I show how I make my solution and it sometimes involves and air stone. Check it out here ua-cam.com/users/shortsXZzeWBQkt9M
Do you sell your plants to
No I do not. There are enough people selling plants out there. I feel my talents are elsewhere.
