    😮thank you sooooooooo much!!!
    I was super struggling with this. I got the Kokoist at the nail show and couldn’t for the life of me get it!! But putting it on the sponge was the TICKET!! ❤

    There are many indie brands, and big brands, who make regular nail polish in chromes. It's been around for decades, probably since nail polish enthusiasts first saw automobile pigments and special effects treatments for cars and thought "Whoa. What if?!" (chrome, holographic, chameleon, metallic...)
    Sally Hansen made excellent non-gel chrome polishes some 20 years ago, maybe. Pure Ice has, too. I had a defunct brand of silver chrome polish in 1980s, even. No curing needed, no messy powders, but there are techniques for each specific effects one wants. Spectraflair is newer, patented, but there are adequate dupes for holographic, rainbow effects. Some dupes aren't stable even in polish suspension base and sink. Making your own polish is great fun, too.

    I wonder if a eyeshadow sponge would work!

  • @JamieNailedIt

    So would you still apply it to the nail or skip that process and apply with just the sponge?

    I use an eye shadow applicator. I think the sponge actually pulls the alcohol from the chrome leaving the smallest amount of powder color on the surface. Probably would be the same picking up a tiny bit of regular powder and burnishing in

    @nicoleewong Рік тому +1

    Hello! Was the alcohol you used to wipe at the end to make it shinier 70% or 90%? Thank you in advance!

      @PaolaPonceNails  Рік тому +2

      I always use only 90%+

    No need for top coat before the liquid chrome application? Or do you still need the top coat cured for the liquid chrome?

    • @Mir_Nohti
      @Mir_Nohti Рік тому

      Kokoist website instructions say: "Apply and fully cure a non-wipe top coat (we recommend a soft-type gel like the Ultra Glossy Non-Wipe Top Coat!)."

      Probably to keep uncured gel off the skin, repeated exposure can cause allergies

    I like the process, however, during filming there is excessive hand movement and it makes it difficult to watch.
