@@RaeganBatyI planned for at minimum 10 years but I miscalculated my dry time and some of my back locs got mildewed. Had to comb them out after having them for 5.5 years. Pretty sad about it. Now one of my daughters wants to comb hers out to look like me. I don’t want her to, but I’ll honor her wishes. I hope you have better lucky!😵💫🥹
I found your lock journey researching starting my own loc journey. Then I saw you taking your locs out... I'm binge watching everything. Your locs were absolutely beautiful, but knowing there's more versatility (not just chopping them off when you want a change) makes it even more appealing to me! Thank you for documenting... Omg, I was watching you when I had my locs last year and unfortunately I comb it out last year June 2023. Im now back to my natural hair journey. I’m happy I can continue my journey with you. My locs were only 2 years old.

I combed out my 6 year old locs back in June. I also gave myself a month to get it done. The last week I literally didn't sleep some days just to get it over and done with 😅. I retained some length but i wanted more length 😂. The only problem I had was that I didn't have time to get natural hair products because I had a work trip and ended up getting braids. That was my first time at a salon in 6 years and I'm never going back because the hairstylists in my country aren't patient with loose natural hair. Hairstylists that are specialised in natural hair are very expensive. Since then I've been patiently learning how to do my hair 😊 it's such a wonderful journey. This is the first time I've had loose natural hair in my life as I had relaxed hair prior to my big chop before getting locs. Well on combing out your locs, it's not for the weak 💯 I can attest to that. I look forward to seeing natural hair content on your channel 🤗

And same for me , I haven’t been natural for a long time because I had perm before starting locs so it’s been a minute. It’s very exciting seeing my curls and just admiring my hair again . I’m very excited for this new hair journey! I will mostly have them in protective hairstyles like braids or twists but if I do try some styles I will definitely share on my channel. That was the plan for me originally, but I fell in love with my loose natural hair after taking it out , so I will be rocking it for a while until I change my mind lol. I’ve found that mini twists are a sweet spot between loc’s and being loose natural . I can leave them for weeks , wash them and if I want to change it up I can to. I’ll see where this journey leads me to. 🙌🏾❤️

Ewww Weee! I tried to cut my waist length locs (140 locs x 9 yrs) out in 2018, and gave up and just got it cut. Wore my loose natural for two years, discovered it was A LOT of work, and went back to locs, and have been reloc’d ever since 2020. So kudos to you sis! 😂

Did your retwist your hair after washing? I would be nervous about my hair relocing since they’ve been locd for years😂 Did you do a protein or moisturizing deep conditioner? It looks beautiful and you retained so much length! Cant wait to see what you have planned next!
As I was taking out the locs , I was twisting them as I go . I was in a rush the day I finished so I just washed them with the twists . Just one wash wouldn’t loc your hair again. Yes you can experience some matting but I took them out already and I didn’t have a hard time taking the twists out . I made sure I pray then with water and some conditioner. So I didn’t have any problems with them locking or matting . I did do a deep conditioner after washing the twists . And thank you so much! I really appreciate it! 🥰🙌🏾

I never new you can comb locs out i thought when they loc they loc it no unlocking them so all you need is conditioner for the hair
