I love how educated she is with locs. However I only use water on my locs not all that extra. I’ve used water from the day one. And our texture is similar. I started my locs with two strand twist and it’s been 9 months
i’m starting this journey tomorrow! i’ve been loc’d a total of 13 years of my life (i’m 26 now lol), and this is my first time doing micros. i’m sooo excited
Thank you so much for this video. I am 10 months into my sl journey and I needed that confirmation on the itchy scalp and especially the frizz. I'm having the hardest time getting used to the frizz, but now that I know it really is normal, maybe I can calm down. Lol.

Glad it was helpful! The itchy scalp definitely tried to take me out the game lol I have a YT Short on what I use now to combat my itch scalp!
Thank you so much for sharing this information! I’m about to start my microloc journey next month and have so many questions about the maintenance. ☺️ love your locs!
Very informative video! I am 6 weeks into my micro loc journey, and I’m loving it! Did she say that you shouldn’t moisturize your starter locs??? I oil my scalp 3 times weekly, and I use distilled water, aloe Vera juice and rose water in my spray bottle. Is that something I should stop??

Great question! Now, I see a lot of UA-camrs moisture their locs regularly. What she has suggested for me is to wait until they are fully mature because moisturizers slow down that process. I wash and moisturize my hair once a week. My locs don’t feel dry at all. I am also maintaining the integrity of the loc. I honestly don’t think there is one way to treat starter locs so if you haven’t seen any unraveling or bunching then your method might also be fine ❤️
@ thank you for your response. I haven’t washed my hair myself yet, but after my last retie my loctician stated that I could braid and band my locs and wash as needed!! Thanks for the great advice! Your locs are gorgeous!! 🤎🌻
Great video!!! I am 2 months into my DIY loc journey. I mean you answered all of my questions. I'm from Memphis, TN I would love to have your loctician information. ❤

I go to someone else now (have been with her over a year who used to work in the same shop). The one is the video is Bitty Locs
I'm in Memphis as well and looking for a loctician. I have just been afraid of not finding someone who won't take my hair out, in it just for the money, and not the health of their client's hair. So, if you don't mind me asking, was there any particular reason you stopped going to Daphne?
I’m not seeing progress with my microlocks. My hair is thinning, unraveling, and my hair is breaking off and has big knots and matted. I’m lost 😞

I’m sorry to hear about your experience! ❤️ I would say consult with an experienced Loctician in your area and see if they can be saved or would you need to start over with a better established set.
Thank you! I just installed my starter locs and I have been thinking about whether I want to start interlocking myself but I was told that if we do not do a 4-point rotation, the locs would not be fully formed. I personally do not want to attempt doing 4-point rotation on my head but I was scared to start interlocking if it could give a different result. What rotation does your loctician do for your hair? And if she has reasons behind this, I would love to hear them! @

So she does a 2 point rotation. To me, it makes the locs look thicker. Check out different videos from others and see which one you like best
Hey! Great question! I have the full breakdown on what she advised in a video on my channel titled “How to maintain a healthy scalp | seborrheic dermatitis | microlocs “
What solution for your dermatitis? I have that too

Great question! I ended up going to the dermatologist. She prescribe me something, but I don’t use it anymore. She recommended the Head and Shoulders Royal Oils line and it’s been wonderful. I use the shampoo and scalp elixir
Thanks for this video! She didn't answer the 2nd part to the question about how often to wash the locs...

So from my experience, when I first started, I waited 5 weeks before I washed my locs. Although I was cleansing my scalp (with witch hazel at the time), I waited to wash until my follow up appointment post-established locs. Now, I wash my locs once a week but on average, people do every two weeks depending on their hair and scalp needs!
@ well, I really want to start my locs with braids. I don't want to twist or coil my hair so that I wouldn't have to deal with unravelling or bunching. My hair won't handle interlocking from scratch either. Do you think with braidlocs, my hair will thicken up eventually?

@@marrieabba3607 so I started mine with two strand twists so I can’t really say how braidlocs would turn out. I heard they take forever to mature. I would say watch some videos from UA-camrs who did them to get a better idea of what to expect.

This was amazing!!!!!! So informative and she has done her research on her craft!!!

I’m starting in 2 weeks did they blow out your hair then start or let the hair air dry? (It’ll be my first time).
What an amazing video. Thank you both !
You are so welcome!
Great Q & A! Your hair may not be fully locked but it’s pretty!
Oh thank you! I’m fully loc’d now! This video was when I first started

Thank you! Honestly, this new acne medication is purging my skin as of late so my breakouts are on 10 lol I’m just ready for it to be over.
I love this video! Thank you for doing this! Can you ask your loctician how she feel about adding extension to starter micro locs please?
Yes of course!
❤Thank you so much. Love your loctictian to pieces!

Hi and thanks for sharing because I’m serious thinking about getting micro locs and if Ur locitcian was in Orlando I would definitely go to her

Yesssss travel!
Love you Microlocs. Where is Daphne located? Looking for a Loctician around DFW TX
Thank you! Memphis, TN
Thanks.
How is interlock different from a re tie?
Great question! They are the same thing. Now a retwist, is when your locs are palm rolled for maintenance
Hey! Thank you for this!
I wanted to ask, what point rotation is she using and why? Is it bad to do a 2-point rotation over a 4-point rotation?
You are so welcome! I get the 2 point rotation! There is no “bad” rotation just how you want your locs to look ❤️ you can always change it

What advise would you give people that have starter microloc braids on low density 4c hair

@how many locks have you got?
@@MaryMary-ph2we 275!
Did you experience any slippage sis?
Not much at all!
How long did it takes
To get my microlocs installed, it took 7 hours with two people working on my head.
Thank you and what about the reties
@@amethystecv2873 Mine usually takes 3 hours max; usually, less than that because I go every 6 weeks.
@how many locs have you got?
@@MaryMary-ph2we I think she said she has 275 in another video, hope this helps :)
She’s giving influencer vibes ….
