I apologize for some bad shots during the video (camera falls, movements, annoying vibrations, etc.). I still do not get a tripod and I have to improvise the position of the cell phone.

Hola!

Wow you did that without a belt sander,.... impressive.
It looks great!
Thanks, a little bit more work but it's fine.
I must say I’m pretty impressed with your workmanship in the sense of ‘using what you have’ laying around.. would love to see your work with better equipment if this is what you are making with what you have lying around.. well done man, looks great!

How many times do you put the knife into fire...? How do you know make strong the iron
Hi Saman
First I heat a piece to soften it.
Then when I have the knife-like piece I heat it a lot and immerse it to temper it.
Finally I reheat it but without going over 250 °C (to return toughness to steel)
I admire the way you did this . A lot of hand shaping and finishing. It's a real beauty. You should get at least $300 for this knife. Probably worth $500.
Hi! Thank you so much. It took me a lot time but the steel not is inox, it's 9260 (Tough but very easy to rust) and for this reason I not sold it for high number. I sold it for $700 ARS ($19 dollars)
I'm from Argentina, the dollar here is worth a lot.
*KEEP THE GOOD WORK THAN YOU REALLY HAVE TALENT*
Nice work
What advice would you give to people who bevel their knives with an angle grinder like me?
It's gonna be my fifth attempt

You have not enough instruments 😥
No, but doesn't matter, for now I'm still work very good! I'll get it some tools sometime 😁👍
This make him great and make the knife more valuable .. Well done 😉
@@ahmedelessawy976 Thanks Ahmed! I appreciate 👍
Very cool knife. I really liked the two different timbers in the handle.
Thanks! I'm chose them because are strong and flexible woods and, of course... the contrast are very nice.
I would have liked to place a thicker metal between them, but I don't have for now.
Shouldn't you get the whole knife cherry red when forging?
Do the metal pins in the handle ever pop out?
Hi Steve, Is not necessary temper all knife, just the blade. About the pins, I never have a problem with it, just I do texture and use much glue or epoxy.
Abrazos
Gracias Santiago.
Agradezco tus palabras.
Un saludo!
Metal music would be better for this video... well is better for everything
nice knife. the handle is a tad round and fat for me. but nice knife overall.
Thanks.
It is still comfortable in my hand, but you right, it's a much fat than the original Tely's design.
I will try not make the same error.
Greetings!
Beautiful knife!!!
Gracias!
Saludos
So beautiful . could you tell me what the Steel material specifications ?
Hello and thank you!
I'm sorry but I don't know the specifications of the steel, I only bought it in a cars disassembly house. It's the leaf spring car part. Is a good steel but needs maintenance due to rust.
Anyway, Is hardness and edge retention is great
NICE WORK!

Looks great !
I also do my bevels with my angle grinder, I find that it saves me times
A few issues with the knife :
The grain of the wood pieces isn't in the sqme direction, which is an issue when you handsand it, I've done the same mistake in my pirate utility knife video
There are a few gaps at so spot bewteen the scales and the handle of the knife
The scales are a bit thick, but you shaped them well so it must be comfortable
A very nice knife overall, keep making !
Hi! You right, about the handle is fat, still comfortable but fat.
I understand your opinions and I try not make the same error again.
I appreciate your comment y thank you for comment your point view!
Beautiful knife! What kind of metal is that blade made with?
Hi and thanks! It's a leaf spring of a car part. I not sure at all but I think is a 9260 steel.
@@LeandroGoretta good deal! I love guys like you. Yall prove to rookie and veteran knife makers that you can build a good knife with basic hand tools. You dont need the finest anvil and forge drill presses 2x72 grinders. A few tools a strong arm and the willpower to get it done is all you need! Keep up the good work buddy. Thanks for responding
@@hdryder1568 I really appreciate what you say. If I have a some better tools someday my job make much easy, but for now I really enjoy feel the steel in every step, like a polish with sandpaper, rectify with files, or temper the knife with my brick and a pice of hollow wood (tacuara). So! thanks so much for you comment and greetings!

Olá, sou do Brasil.

Hi!

@@LeandroGoretta thank you so much... whats you opinion on using tool steel to make a knife ?
Hola Leandro! Que acero usas?
Amazing 😀... Soo close to slavik tely 😉... Where is the best place to get any metal even damascus steel?... Thanks and god bless 😉
Hi Dakota! thanks!
I buy the steel in a junkyard. Some people don't like recycle like me, so they buy pieces of steel for make knife directly, it's fine but much more expensive.
For the damascus steel I think you need two diferent pieces, one stainless steel and a any other... I do not know much about the subject.
