Wish I had the money to get this guy a 2"x72" belt grinder.

The workshop he's working at has a pretty decent belt grinder and disc sander system, the belt and discs aren't cheap though...
They also have a surface grinder.

Very nice handle design. I’ve always been impressed with Damascus knives. Perfect length. I’d like one for my kitchen.

Certainly better than anything I can make. The pattern looks good, too. Keep it up.

If you put water on your power hammer when using it it would remove the scale from the metal. Nice job there bro. Thanks for sharing your work with us all👊

Very thick knife for kitchen purposes. The kitchen knife must be about 2-3mm to cut easy.

That welded tang could work for kitchen tasks, I suppose. A kitchen knife shouldn't need a full, one piece through tang since it's just being used in the kitchen.

My main question is how the central screw that holds the blades together effects the knife if it does in anyway

Bro literally did every part of this wrong
The canister didn't forge weld so the entire first segment was basically pointless. Doesn't forge to shape, he cuts to shape. Tac welds on a tang. Quenches in engine oil. Has the blockiest handle imaginable. Has trouble cutting a lemon.

Why do people hand forge knifes and then do it with a hidden tang instead of a full tang? Still it's a nice project and a beautiful result.

      SODIUM DECAHYDRATE (BORAX):
Borax (Na2B4O7•10H2O), also known as sodium borate or sodium tetraborate, is an alkaline mineral derived from the mixture of a hydrated salt of sodium and boric acid. In cutlery, it is one of the most used products as a flux during welding in the forge

After hardening the blade. It being surrounded in sand, rather than open to atmosphere allows it to cool at a much slower and more controlled rate.

Need to thin the blade a bit, its to thick for trying to thin slice stuff... Thats more of a tackle box knife ... Or using on an intruder..😉 not chefing in the kitchen 😁
I love the craftmanship and the dedication but just a litle more time on the sharpener and youll have a knife worth the time spent... 😎
