An active juror and panelist, she was recently featured in Strings and Strad magazines and on NPR, and was an invited speaker at the Library of Congress on the role of women in music. I just had a masterclass with her yesterday. By far the kindest, most inspiring cellist I have ever seen, and really just radiates confidence and technical skill.

This interview is spectacular in so many ways. Wow. I stumbled on this channel knowing absolutely zero about the world of classical music. I can't imagine being surrounded by so many remarkable, intellegent & talented individuals immersed in creating beauty through music. Possibly the closest place to heaven here on earth? Astounding.

How lovely to see Astrid Schween, whom I taught in grade school, as a grownup! She was always very talented and such a humble, down-to-earth musician. I loved her tone, even in the 6th grade!

So many fascinating, appealing people on this channel but for me the most enchanting so far is Astrid Schween.
