I think the reason youve been able to sustain your dream is because youre a really nice guy as is Laura a wonderful girl. Im glad I could do a small part to help. Good luck on the crossing be safe!
Well woke up first day of the year with splitting headache. Was surfing UA-cam and sailing Dooles while not into sailing found this so relaxing I have now watched load of the clips great.
Know they may not have thought it was the greatest idea at 1st, but glad you got the parents to talk about their thoughts and feelings about the sailing and the coming trip, as that was insightful, and of course having both sets was just that more special. There was a lot of off camera time with them too, and hope they really did have a great time with you guys down there as well!
Very well done again, your video skills, edits, etc, get better every time...just love your channel... (we met for like 30 Min in early Feb in Cabo...I was that dude that just bought a house in Cabo and taking the keys to the Condo.. Happy that you had this time with Both of your parents! This must have been awhile ago because I thought you had talked about your drive up to Texas in a borrowed Suburban some time ago. Out of sequence? No matter, your folks were great and yes, we will be watching out for you kids all the way across the Pacific! Fair seas but steady breezes.
Seeing this episode was about parents I instantly wanted to know who was responsible for Laura's insane energy and high spirits. I thought everyone would ask that. Nonetheless, it was a warming experience for me....thanks to you both and 4 Grands , decent people.
As a parent, I'd be on pins and needles. Six years ago I heard of a helicopter crash in Mobile, AL. My son was stationed there and at the time, and I was pretty sure he was enroute to Mobile from Cape Disappointment Station, WA, from a 2 week support mission. When I finally got a hold of him, he was in New Mexico, and because of the accident, they were grounded. They had to fly back to Mobile by commercial aircraft. Later, their helicopter was shipped back, by truck. It was still a sad day, as he lost 3 of his co-workers and 1 student, in the mishap. But, you can't let things like this put a damper on the adventures in your life. Everyone will have to experience the final day in your life, so you better greet it with a smile on your face. Regardless of how you go, you will leave a void in the lives of those who love you, and they will have to find a way to continue to live in your absence. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
Both sets of parents? Timing before the crossing or something up with you two? You make a fun couple. Great video. Enjoy the crossing. It'll be an adventure for you. I'll be watching.
@sailing doodles..... 1) Bob, nice Bay Watch intro with Laura running on the beach with the pups. I was thinking you could do that again but shoot it in high speed and then slow it down during production. (okay you did do some of that later in the video.) 2) Great drone shots at 3:30 mark and awesome choice of music. That tune rocked, I hope you use it again! 3) Also the hula hoop shots with Katie at the 4:40 mark was great a surprise. Overall Bob that was a great video and the production quality is getting better with each video.
