I'm coming back to this after about five years since I first saw it. This animation almost certainly changed the course of my life. Coming back has reminded me of that. All I wanted to do was make something as beautiful as this. It's only incredible how both foxes and stars have been incredibly meaningful to me, long before seeing this. I still haven't done what I sought out to do. But I'm not going to die without completing that goal. Thank you for making something so beautiful.
“Well whoever said you can only be a star” I feel like this is sending a message to the people who feel like they can only be one specific thing because everyone else is that thing
Sometime when I rewatch this, I kinda feel like I can relate to the little fox when feeling you can't get where everyone else does and this sends the message that you can be worth something else xD Like I always have that little ball in my throat every damn time.
I showed this to everyone in my house and shared it with my freinds just because how much this made me cry and I felt so proud of the little one I wonder how much fun it would be to run the worlds skies lashing behind northern lights for eternity
I have no idea WHY but i literally started crying when I realized the fox was going to become an aurora borealis! this was so beautiful in an indescribable way. Love love love
@Camilo Salgado at the begging he followed the light first witch lead him there he didn’t knew about its power till the end when just stood up and forgot everything which happened
Every time I see this I cry. This might sound strange, but I want this played at my funeral. I feel this sums up my spirit more than some poem or whatever
Growing up on the Navajo and Zuni Indian Reservations, I loved the legends about how the animals taught the humans life lessons. I read these stories from Indigenous people's from all over the world and loved them all. As my dad told us, my brother and sisters, these stories have a distinctly human sound to them. I think that he knew exactly what he was telling us as he relayed these stories over a campfire.
This could legit become a 1/2 hour movie if you added extra contents, like when the fox was a child, backstory on the moon spirit, some animals realizing the nights got darker and darker as time passed, the fox's parents telling the fox stories about the sun and the moon spirit, ect. It'd be really cool!!
Honestly I could totally see a whole Pixar movie like this! It’d be so so cool! Especially with the handrawn style that a lot of movie studios have kind of abandoned over time.
I just want to insert my little essay here. I love this animated masterpiece with all my soul, five years ago I fell in love with this mystery and fabulousness. It's so damn beautiful that I cry every time I review this story. You inspired me to come up with my own universe related to the signs of the zodiac, and now that I need to choose a vocation for myself, I can say with confidence that I want to create something just as beautiful and bright, tell my story about the stars and sparkle in the hearts of those who are just like me, He loves fairy tales. Thank you for this film, I bow to your hard work and can only sacrifice my heart to this video
This film made me feel like 5 different emotions, gave a clear sight of its characters, and told a satisfying story in just 6 minutes. When some movies can't even pull it off in 2 hours...that really says something.
Not to mention, the quality found within the art made of singular people- or the company of but a few. We are the many few. That is where the best is found, the less known. Im glad when such as this finds the light, it is well deserved
Same here, it was popping in my recommendations for over a week and I was like "No, I know how this will end, it will be moving, and I will cry and I don't want to"... Watched it eventually, crying of course. Worth it though :)
The legend of revontulet, or Fox's fires, is that there is this mythical Firefox which all the hunters desired to hunt which is very, very elusive and if you managed to hunt it you would get the riches and fame. The aurora borealis come from fox running between the fells, tail whipping the snow in to the sky and fur scratching the trees producing sparks setting the sky in fire.
I love this little movie and it‘s saved on my watchlist for years now. My daughter loves this little movie as well. I have to show her this so often. ❤️
Okay, this brought tears to my eyes. As someone who tries to be like everyone else, I can’t help but agree with the Fox. “I tried to be a star and light up the sky like everyone else.” But I guess I just need to wait for someone to tell me “you don’t need to be only a star” but anyway this is so emotional and riveting that I feel MOVED by this, I hope you and everyone who worked on this (music, animation, voice, all of you) get to go one to become an amazing animator/musician/voice actor, cause you all deserve it.
I hope you're able to get a restful night's sleep soon! Thank you for watching our film and for taking the time to let me know it had that effect on you, that's really incredible to hear. All the best.
@@honeybunnyisafluffybun8803 None taken, don't worry! The Moon was supposed to be a bit creepy in it's movements, voice and design. It's supposed to not fit in with the wildlife characters.
I LOVE this film! This seems to be inspired by actual Northern Lights myths that I originally discovered because of the song "Message From The Sun" by Sonata Arctica, a Finnish band. The Finnish myth says that the lights were caused by the firefox who ran so quickly across the snow that his tail caused sparks to fly into the night sky creating the Aurora. The Finnish word for the Northern Lights “revontulet” translates literally as “fire fox”. This is now one of my favorite mythological stories, and I think the film maker did a great job with it. Edit: I missed that the creator said it IS inspired by the folklore.
yes! I'm finnish and I've always loved that story :D legend says that catching the firefox will make you rich and famous beyond belief for the rest of your life, but it's hard to find since it hides in the woods and is completely black during the day

It's about £10 on Playstation Store, and enchanting to play as it is to watch this movie!!

Welp the Firefox isn't a fox.
And the browser got its name from an old Finnish tale. This is how the ancient Finns explained the Aurora Borealis. To them it was the tail of the Firefox in the sky.

Ah sorry I don't know why the chat is closed! Thank you so so much to everyone who joined for the premiere, I'm completely blown away by the response, thank you! ;o; You've made all the hard work worth it! Please be sure to read the description to see who else worked on the film if you're interested, my team were so wonderful to work with and I couldn't have done it without them. They believed in me and the film when I didn't and pushed beyond what we were told we'd be able to do. I love them very much!

“Well whoever said you can only be a star”
I feel like this is sending a message to the people who feel like they can only be one specific thing because everyone else is that thing
Its called SUPPORT
Sometime when I rewatch this, I kinda feel like I can relate to the little fox when feeling you can't get where everyone else does and this sends the message that you can be worth something else xD Like I always have that little ball in my throat every damn time.

I just found out that this story is from the Finnish Zodiac, fantastic.
This is absolutely gorgeous! I've got chills 💗

GinjaninjaOwO! Hi! Luv ur vids!
Why hello there
This could legit become a 1/2 hour movie if you added extra contents, like when the fox was a child, backstory on the moon spirit, some animals realizing the nights got darker and darker as time passed, the fox's parents telling the fox stories about the sun and the moon spirit, ect. It'd be really cool!!
But I think the story would be boring if it was too long ._.
theyd jus need the right writers to spruce it up a bit and execute it
itd be an awesome movie concept

I’m so sorry to be that person and ruin this comment but when you said Firefox I immediately thought of the browser.

Well, who sayd you only can be a star? There needs to be fireworks in the sky....

After four years , I’m seeing this again. Brings me shivers
Edit: I missed that the creator said it IS inspired by the folklore.
yes! I'm finnish and I've always loved that story :D legend says that catching the firefox will make you rich and famous beyond belief for the rest of your life, but it's hard to find since it hides in the woods and is completely black during the day
"Revontulet" translates to "fox fires", obviously, not "firefox".
