Jinx Dawson is like if a lab mixed Stevie Nicks' occult style,Marianne Faithfull's looks, Joan Jett's badass grittiness, and Ann Wilson's voice. Then again since she predates them except maybe Marianne specifically the lab may have given them aspects of Jinx! Hard to believe this is the singer of One Tin Soldier but this is awesome!🤟
This is one of my ultimate favorite Coven songs!! Three years ago I acquired a very rare classic film Heaven Can Help that featured Jinx Dawson in an acting role(and also singing in the movie) for my Coven collection(I collect everything Coven!! I love them!!)With a friend of mine and her permission, we put together this video for the song.."Wicked Woman", and it turned out really awesome!! Also we put together a longer version called 4 song "Heaven Can Help" musick video..Dedicated to the legend of Coven and Jinx Dawson forever...
I'm gonna go inside a local church or two and give them the Sign Of The Horns if I can get away with it. This is one of Coven's best. It really rocks and is raw, bluesy, and badass. I love the lyrics "She Cuts A Man's Heart Making Deep Gashes She Blazes Like Wildfire Love Turns Into Ashes." Amazing band.
One of my favorite Coven songs ever that truly rocks hard(Hails Jinx Dawson and Coven). The video footage is from an awesome very rare offically unreleased(except in Europe) horror comedy sci- fi movie that starred Coven singer Jinx Dawson and is truly a mysterious piece of Hollywood history. I was searching like a maniac back in 2009 or so to find this film, checking European video lists and rarity sites worldwide on the internet like an obsessed maniac until I finally found a seller from Taiwan who claimed to have it. I ordered it asap and it came relatively quick though it was in another regional format DVD. So then I bought a universal region DVD player. For about a half year, I watched the movie over and over again. On first viewing it has a similar feel to a mixture of the eighties film Once Bitten or something crossed with a dash of Hammer Horror influence, a lot of tongue in cheek comedy, a little bit of "Oh God You Devil", a dash of true black magick witchcraft incantations(thanks to Jinx I'm sure), some low budget gore, a lot of very wickedly lit and well acted scenes of Jinx Dawson looking beautiful as ever running around onstage and also in a Hellish netherworld, from that time period in 1990, and last but not least a teenage guy that (was very lucky to have his role since he got to have some incredible scenes with Jinx, and even a very passionate kiss)has a romance with Jinx, who is named Vira in the movie. Vira steals the young man's love away from his teenage girlfriend and suddenly he is falling for Vira, who was sent by Satan to steal a young virgin's soul in order for Satan to grant Vira her eternal youth. He almost dies on the altar of Hell but then escapes when Vira who is actually falling in love with the teenage guy after their very steamy affair, has a change of heart and lets him escape. Then Satan takes Vira(Jinx) and tortures her for letting him go and burns her to death in the furnace of Hell in a really gory and creepy scene. After this, the teenage guy and his friends with the help of a guardian angel destroy the physical manifestation of Satan and he melts like Dracula into a miasma of putrid decay. Hails James and Jinx Dawson! A guy named Raymon Deardorf helped me make a musick video from the movie, who is the husband of a woman I work with. He helped me to edit the video from film to the song. First of all we had to change the video format through a convertor just for editing purposes. We formed a special computer only copy to edit with. I wrote out a detailed list of the scenes from the movie that I wanted to use and where to put everything in the song, like an outline, and then we began the process of physically piecing it together as a musick video which was one if the hardest projects ever. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard, but trying to synch up Jinx's performance scenes from the movie(where she is singing a different song by the way, that was a really cool theme song to the movie, to "Wicked Woman" was pretty hard. I still wonder if I am one of the only individuals in the world to actually own this film besides the black market guy from Taiwan who sold it to me back in 2010 or so. One thing is nearly certain, I don't think you can find this film anywhere now. I still have my copy and I treasure it with my Coven collection.💀
Count you say what I believe in and you say it well. Can I add you to my friends circle on UA-cam? Also for something really interesting I'm putting a blog entry up soon on my blogspot largely about Coven and The Left Hand Path so look in a few weeks at Vinyl Antiquity Blogspot. I write about more than just music and some of it's good some of it I think is crap. You can judge what is good and what is garbage up there I'm pretty sure we'd agree on that too.
Oh yeah! Oh. yeah! She cuts a man's heart, Making deep gashes. She blazes like wildfire. Love turns into ashes. What she's doing insane! Poor man's weeping and crying. Her incantations abound. Uh huh, she crucifies him, yeah! Wicked woman, Who do you think you're fooling? Wicked woman, He knows what you're doing. Wicked woman, Wicked woman, Wicked woman, You go to Hell! Bloody Hell! Love every pitch of this one ( and probably on every song of yours). It's full of energy and I can't remember any moment I don't enjoy every second of it. Like any good song it just makes me feel to pick up an instrument and figure out how to play it.
I bought the LP the year it was released after hearing this song on a promo 45 I got from my local college radio station.. wish I had sent in for the alter poster they offered of Jinx nude with a skull over her private parts LOL but I kept putting it off till it wqs too late to get it....
I just watched a Todd In The Shadows review of One Tin Soldier. Do I look these guys up, I play this song... Somebody please tell me why an Ann Coulter video is popping up with these results...
Somebody finally uploaded the film to You Tube! Look up Heaven Can Help. It's a very cool little low budget horror, but it has Jinx's movie acting and very beautifully so. I love the film. I found it years ago on DVD on a Oriental site.
Black Sabbath took a bit from them(not musically of course). But the band Lucifer took a hell lot from Coven Love it all,its just music at the end of the day for us. But a living for them so must be frustrating,
Spellbound!!! Siouxsie's inspiration for her song!!
Stevie 77 Omg I thought I was the only one who noticed it!!
I just found out of this song and I'm inspiring myself in it for something of the kind but in a very gay way
Is that so?
The bass groove !

Could you help another musician, and fan of Jinx, Coven, and horror films get a copy of this film?
Thx, i didn't know her acting role

I've heard your band. You kick ass!
Awesome

Do you know where I can watch the movie?
Somebody finally uploaded the film to You Tube! Look up Heaven Can Help. It's a very cool little low budget horror, but it has Jinx's movie acting and very beautifully so. I love the film. I found it years ago on DVD on a Oriental site.
She sounds a bit Grace slick and looks like Debbie Harry😃👍
man.. jinx was sexy

Love it all,its just music at the end of the day for us.
But a living for them so must be frustrating,
Hail Fucking Satan
I see where Warlock and Doro Pesh got everything they know...Not to mention BS
This is teeny bopper music from the sixties. Haven't you ever heard Black Sabbath first album? It rocks, this sucks
Don’t listen if you don’t like it
This does not suck. This song is kewl.
